Get your arse up, Doug,

This isn't over,

Casualties are high,

But we won't let our enemies win.

You're a soldier fighting for freedom,

Don't let this battle break you!

Through the flickering lights,

Bodies scatter everywhere on the grassy ground beneath them.

More to follow after deafening screams.

Deep inside,

Doug had a feeling that it's more than some brutal war,

Like an evil presence was lurking its way into the battle.

Barely a second passed when he heard footsteps,

Getting closer every second,

Making him realize that he was right.

The lights still flickered,

Doug turned to leave

When an unknown force levitated him off the ground,

Followed by yet another unknown force tightening his throat,

Trying to squeeze the life out of him.

His eyes widened in horror,

Unable to speak.

Through this,

He could hear breathing

But this breathing sounded so machine-like,

Inhuman.

Before he could comprehend his likely death,

The invisible choking hold around Doug's throat

Wore off then he dropped to the ground,

Followed by his harsh coughs.

After taking a shaky deep breath,

He looked up.

There stood a figure completely clad in black,

His expression, or rather what mask and helmet was in place of his face

Was cold and unmoving.

However, the coldest thing about him

Was his aura that lingered in the air.

Doug felt his blood turning cold,

His mouth hung open in terror,

His heart hammered against his ribs,

He didn't know what to expect

As he watched the expressionless figure staring down at him.

The figure wasted no time,

Grabbing the terrified young man by his shirt,

Then bore his cold jaded eyes into Doug's horrified eyes.

"Remarkable.

A handsome young man like yourself,

Never giving up even when you're at your most vulnerable.

Too bad you won't be alive to watch your filthy friends fall.

I'll remember this day for a long time."

The figure's voice sounded distorted,

So machine-like.

Before Doug could speak,

He heard an ignition of a laser sword,

Followed by an unbearable, burning pain in his abdomen.

All he could do was scream

Before his body was tossed to the ground.

The lights still flickered

As the figure clad in black placed his boot

On the young man's impaled abdomen

Then he stared into the distance

His expression cold and unmoving.
