Thomas and the Royal Engine Aftermath

It had been quite a day for Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt, they had traveled all the way to London to see the Queen and the Young Prince Charlie to receive an award for their railway. However along the way, there had been some confusions and delays which resulted in both of them getting Dirty and scratched up, and Thomas had made a new friend named Duchess (Who he had rescued when she was stranded). Thankfully they had managed to get to London safely and on time to receive their award.

Thomas was sad when it was time to go home to Sodor again, because it meant it was time to say goodbye to Duchess. She could even tell he was sad, she smiled reassuringly.

Duchess: Don't be sad Thomas, I'm sure we'll see each other again real soon.

Thomas: I know Duchess, I am going to miss you.

Duchess: I'll miss you too, who knows? Maybe the next time the Queen decides to come and visit Sodor, I'll be the engine to bring her there and then I can meet all your friends.

Thomas: That would be great. I'm sure you'd like all my friends.

STH: Come on Thomas, it's time to head back to Sodor, where we both can get a wash and get cleaned up. (Climbs into Thomas' Cab)

Thomas: You can say that again Sir (Laughs) Well Goodbye Duchess, I'll never forget you.

Duchess: I'll never forget you either Thomas, Goodbye.

As the Queen, Prince Charlie and the crowd gave one last cheer to Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt, they made their way back to Sodor (Remembering to fill up on Water and Coal and collect Thomas' Fireman along the way) As they passed Berisford, Sir Topham Hatt spoke to Thomas.

STH: Thomas, with everything that's happened today, I have to say I'm very proud of you. Not only did you get me to London on time for the ceremony despite getting dirty, but you also saved the Duchess and the Queen when they were in trouble. You Thomas are a really useful engine and a credit to the railway.

Thomas: (Blush) Thank you Sir. I'd never let you down. And don't worry we're almost home.

At long last, Thomas puffed up to the bridge between Sodor and the Mainland, waited for it to lower down and puffed over it onto Sodor. As he got closer to Vicarstown, he could Percy, Gordon and all of his friends waiting for him, when he came into home-view, everyone blew their whistles and cheered for Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt, but they were very surprised to see them both Dirty and scratched up.

Percy: Goodness me Thomas, what happened to your paintwork? You're all Dirty and scratched up.

James: You don't look half as splendid as you were when you left earlier, what did happen to you?

Gordon: (Laughing): Did you get lost on the way? I knew I should've been the one to go to London.

Edward: It's not funny Gordon, Thomas looks like he's had a very trying day.

Rebecca: Did you enjoy yourself? What was it like meeting the Queen? How did you get so dirty?

STH: SILENCE!

Vicarstown went quiet

STH: Now then, Now I know Thomas and I look absolutely Dirty, but let me tell you all that despite what happened to us both, we still managed to get to London on time in time for the Ceremony. And that's not all, Thomas here rescued the Queen's Royal Engine Duchess and was able to get us both to London on time.

Everyone in the station gave an enormous cheer for Sir Topham Hatt and Thomas the Tank Engine, even Gordon seemed impressed with Thomas' Heroic Actions. After the welcome home party, everybody went home and all the engines puffed back to the sheds. After Thomas finally managed to get a Washdown and a fresh new coat of paint, he puffed back to Tidmouth Sheds, as he puffed onto the Turntable, the Steam Team gave him a big cheer as he puffed back into his birth.

Nia: Emily and I heard all about your day Thomas.

Emily: What you did was very brave and very useful Thomas, it's no wonder you were chosen to take Sir Topham Hatt to London.

James: What was it like meeting the queen and her Royal Engine?

Percy: Will you please tell us the story of your day before we go to sleep?

Rebecca: I'd really like to hear all about it.

Gordon: Even I'd like to hear about it too Thomas.

Thomas: (Chuckling) Okay, Okay, I'll tell you all what happened today.

And so, Thomas told his friends all about his big journey to London until it was time to go to sleep. Everyone was amazed with what had happened, even Gordon. Thomas knew he had a big day, but he was very proud with how it turned out, he is indeed a very useful Engine.
