Chapter 6 Hiding in the Shadows

A.N. – Time to hunt down our mystery man. I'm going to give you guys a second clue right here. The second clue is our mystery man lives in Paris. So it's not someone like in Russia or something. It's a local threat. Anyways time to reenter Sector 5 (most of Lyoko will be centered around Sector 5).

Short Summary – With the threat of a mystery threat growing, and the possibility of Xana and Anti-Xana escaping growing more real, Jeremy decides it's time to eliminate the head. The Lyoko Warriors go to Sector 5 in order to find data on the transmissions source. But when a tower activates the warriors must abandon the mission. But what is the real reason behind the attack if Earth isn't the target?

The Next Day

The gang all wakes up, and now they all wake up in fear. Even though Xana and Anti-Xana aren't free yet, their master is still on the loose and could cause damage on Earth to have them imprisoned. So, now it was a cat and mouse game with the enemy hiding in the shadows. Jeremy tries to figure out who would betray them? But at this rate, who knows that their alive?

"Alright, I think it's time we head back to Sector 5. I'd rather we wake up in peace, then in fear to a mystery enemy" Jeremy said.

"I think that may be to dangerous Jeremy. We all know that Seeker is going to come back. But I don't want to met it again" Aelita said.

"Until this threat clears, the Seeker will keep on coming. We need to knock out the main source, and that's their master. With out a leader, the group falls apart. Without their master, no leadership, which means more time to try to take them out."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's find out who this monster is" Ulrich said.

"Let's head over to the factory then."

The warriors all changed and headed to the factory. On the way, Jeremy phoned up William and Laura was going to be with him. Once they were there they waited for William and Laura to arrive. Once they did they all headed down the elevator. They all stopped at the lab for a quick mission brief.

"Okay, to go over the mission in a cliff notes version, you're all going to Sector 5, once you get to the celestial dome, I'll send Aelita the video. She'll trace the source while you protect her. Once she's found what we need, I'll rematerialize you. We clear?" Jeremy said. They all nodded yes. "Then get down to the scanners."

Once they were down in the scanner room, Jeremy sent the girls in to the arena first and then sent to the guys. This time though, the mission was going to be controlled by their evil mastermind.

Network Graveyard

In the network graveyard Xana and Anti-Xana were getting a video feed to their master.

"Done. Now master, we await you're commands" Xana said.

Unknown Location

"Good, now I see you. Time to test your skills against an unknown enemy" the mystery man said.

Sector 5

The group was all in the arena waiting for the wall to open. When it opened, they ran to the passage towards the core zone. When they entered they would soon be thrown a trap from every corner.

(Since I'll be shifting back and forth between the mystery man's location and Sector 5, I'll use abbreviations. UL = Unknown Location and S5 = Sector 5.)

"Okay send out about ten creepers now."

The Lyoko Warriors were headed to the elevator when the room started to shift. And then the groans came.

"Uh oh. We're about to have some creepy encounters here soon" Odd said as ten creepers appeared from the walls.

"Seems like an unfair advantage. Ten of them" Ulrich said.

"We've been through worse" Yumi said.

"Name one?"

"When the Kankerlots invaded the school before Jim showed up."

Ulrich was satisfied with this answer and they went to engage the enemies. Ulrich jumped up and slashed two creepers destroying both of them. "Two down."

"Right, and only about eight more to go" Aelita said.

William used his super smoke to get up to the top level. "Hello creepers, remember me?" he said as he destroyed three of them on the top level. After he destroyed the third one a laser knocked him down to ground level.

"Be careful William. Between the laser and impact you only got 50 life points left" Jeremy said.

Odd was climbing up the side of the wall. When he reached a height a little higher then the creepers he shot two laser arrows destroying them both leaving only three left.

"My turn" Aelita said as she activated her wings. She flew above and threw three perfectly aimed energy orbs at the remaining creepers. They all got destroyed and Aelita landed.

"Nice aim Aelita" Yumi said.

"Thanks Yumi."

"Not so fast. Send the Seeker. I want Aelita captured."

Suddenly the Lyoko Warriors felt uneasy. They all soon levitated and were all thrown to different corners of the room.

"Looks a lot like the Seeker!" Yumi said from across the room and the Seeker emerged.

"You were right!" Ulrich shouted.

The Seeker headed towards Aelita and Aelita looked in fear as there was nothing she could do.

"Aelita use your powers to try to escape!" Jeremy said.

Aelita concentrated and she was able to break free from the Seekers grasp. As she landed she threw an energy orb and the Seeker blocked it from hitting the symbol. Aelita ran away and the Seeker focused on Aelita forgot to keep the Lyoko Warriors held up and they all landed and threw their weapons at it. The Seeker moved to a corner and disappeared.

"I did not say go back! Stop them! If they found me, you'll never escape!"

The warriors all headed towards the elevator and entered the celestial dome. Aelita accessed the interface and all the warriors vehicles were waiting for them.

"Aelita, I'm sending you the video now. Trace the source and IP address and I'll locate the source" Jeremy said.

Aelita received the link and started to run the decoding the video. "Jeremy, I need more power. The video has some protection on it" Aelita said.

"Okay, give me a minute."

"Send in four mantas. I need Aelita as open as possible, so I can eliminate her."

Just then four mantas showed up and the warriors jumped on their vehicles and headed to the mantas. William was riding with Ulrich heading towards two mantas. "William, be ready" Ulrich said.

"Okay" William said in response.

When they were in range Ulrich started their double attack. "Now!" Ulrich said as William jumped on the top manta and stabbed it as Ulrich stabbed the bottom one. William hoped back on and the two mantas blew up.

Yumi was with Odd heading towards the last two mantas. Odd headed up and shot the top manta. Yumi was above the other manta and threw one of her fans at the other manta and they both sped away and the mantas were both destroyed.

"This will not do. Okay, I'll take over. Activate a tower and I'll erase the information."

Lab

Jeremy and Laura were both in the lab when Laura noticed something on one of Jeremy's monitors.

"Jeremy, look!" Laura said and Jeremy saw their was an activated tower.

"Uh oh, bad news. Guys, abort the mission. A tower has just been activated in the forest sector" Jeremy said.

"What? We are so close" Aelita said.

"I know. Finish this job quickly and we can continue looking for our monster."

Aelita got onto the Overwing with Yumi and they went through the tunnel that led to the forest sector.

(Abbreviation FS = Forest Sector)

The warriors arrived in the forest sector. They all went to the land. As they went straight they saw the tower.

"Tower in sight Jeremy" Odd said.

"Stall them. I need more time."

As the warriors headed to the tower they saw three tarantulas appear. They went into fire mode and started to attack.

"Looks like we have a spider problem" Ulrich said.

"Good, I like a challenge" William said with a look of 'I'm ready to fight' in his eyes.

With that William used his super smoke ability and moved towards the monster and appeared behind one. He jumped up and stabbed one of them in the symbol destroying it before he was devirtualized by the others.

Scanners

"I should have known that would happen" William said with the sound of defeat in his voice.

The remaining warriors all headed towards the two remaining and Ulrich sped towards one as he let the Overbike launch it to the digital sea. He used his sabers to defend the lasers and Odd came and fired a laser arrow getting rid of the last one.

"Almost there."

Aelita entered the tower and floated to the top.

"90% complete."

Aelita placed her hand on the interface. The word Aelita appeared and then the word code followed by it.

"99% complete."

She entered the code and it read Code Lyoko. The towers data all went down to the bottom. "Tower deactivated" Aelita said as the tower was deactivated.

"So Jeremy, what's the damage?" Yumi said.

"Nothing. It's like Xana and Anti-Xana didn't do anything on Earth" Jeremy said.

"That's weird" Aelita said as she exited the tower.

"Who knows? Maybe for once we beat them to the punch" Odd said.

"Either way, get back to Sector 5. We have a mission to complete" Jeremy said.

Aelita got on with Odd this time around and they headed back to the celestial dome.

Aelita hoped off and saw the data was erased. "Jeremy, I think we fell for a trap. The attack was to lure us away from the interface. The video doesn't exist anymore" Aelita said.

Lab

"Laura, can you find it?" Jeremy said.

Laura searched on her pad but found no trace of the video. "No. Aelita's right. The video was deleted" she said.

"Okay, I'll bring you back now."

The warriors were all rematerialized and they all headed up to the lab.

The mystery man laughed. "Looks like I'm smarter and more powerful then the warriors. They fell into my trap and didn't even realize it. Try finding me now!"

Lab

The entire group was in the lab in defeat.

"I can't believe we fell for that trap. I should have known something was wrong" Jeremy said.

"Yeah, but if it was real, we can't ignore that threat" Ulrich said.

"Ulrich's right Jeremy. We can't let our secret get out. No one must get hurt" Aelita said.

"I just wish we had a do over. I guess our main mission now is to get rid of Xana and Anti-Xana. Not to mention protect Aelita as well. I guess we'll never know the identity of our mystery man."

A.N. – What Jeremy doesn't know is that later in the future they we'll meet him. How and why? Stay tuned to find out! Abbreviations will not be in the next episode.
