Chapter 8 Failure in Sector 5
A.N. – A three chapter arc begins with this chapter. This arc is for everyone who was waiting for the network graveyard chapter. It will be next. This means our mystery man reveal is coming soon. Here is your final special clue. If you can decipher the riddle you find out his identity: Even though he knew our heroes, only one knew more personally. He never seemed like the bad guy, but could be if needed. Never evil, but with his position who would need to be. Maybe more money would a nice bonus to the existing pay for this position. Also, not a genius, but by knowing Franz hopper, maybe he has more of a background then people know. Have fun deciphering that clue! I made as challenging as possible! I would say decipher each part and you link them you can narrow your options down. Post your guesses. Anyways, on with the beginning of this arc.
Josh Xana – Well in order to keep a low profile, they shouldn't do anything public and getting the Hermitage would make them be seen. And they really can't do anything to it unless they own it.
Short Summary – For over a week, Jeremy and Aelita have been trying to get the program for entering the network graveyard running. They are not successful in anyway. During a late night, Jeremy receives a message about some data in Sector 5 crucial to their fight. Since no trace of Xana or Anti-Xana on the message, they go and fall into a mystery man trap.

One Week Later Lab
Jeremy and Aelita were both in the lab trying to get the network graveyard virtualization program working, in case they needed to deal with Xana and Anti-Xana personally. Every attempt and the hours of work they sacrificed have all ended in failure. Jeremy was starting to wonder if it even was possible to enter this unknown place.
"We aren't getting anywhere. There is no trace with coordinates in this place. We try, we'll end up in a digital void" Jeremy said.
"We have to keep on trying. We can't keep on avoiding the Seeker. Eventually they will get lucky and I'll be kidnapped" Aelita said.
"We can't think like that Aelita."
"Remember the Scyphozoa. Even though you were protecting me he still caught me."
"Yes, but he set a trap for us. You think after years of fighting, we would not fall into anymore."
"Remember, we are also fighting an unknown enemy, who now controls our missions too. I also believe he was watching us every time we are on Lyoko."
"Then we need to be extra careful when we go back. Speaking of, you should head back Aelita. I need to finish a few calculations before we can try again."
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow" Aelita said placing a kiss on his cheek. She changed into a disguise and left.
Jeremy continued to do more calculations and each one was not much closer to finding an entry into the network graveyard. Jeremy knew the longer they struggled, the more time they had to think of new ways to capture Aelita. But what they didn't know is that next time they would return, the mystery man would control everything. But now, he was about to put his final plan into motion.
Unknown Location
"Okay, now that I control Sector 5's structure, I can have the Seeker capture Aelita without having to deal with the warriors. This is my final plan. If this fails, I'll give up and let them live and end Xana and Anti-Xana for them."
With this he sent a fake information location to the supercomputer that would catch Jeremy's attention and lure them back to Sector 5.
Lab
Jeremy was about to take a little nap before tomorrow when a message came through.
"What's this?" he said as he opened the message. "I can help you take down your enemies. Head to the interface at the fifth sector to get the info. I'll retrieve it and send it to you once you're logged in. Maybe this is our key to entering the network graveyard. I'll let the others know." He sent a text to everyone telling them to meet him in the lab tomorrow.
The Next Day
Everyone headed to the factory when they woke up. They all headed down to the laboratory to meet up with Jeremy. "Oh there you are. I got a message from someone last night saying that he/she can help us with our fight" Jeremy said.
"Sounds a lot like a trap" Yumi said.
"I scanned the email. No trace of Xana or Anti-Xana."
"It might be my mom. She knew about Anti-Xana, so I wouldn't be surprised if she knew they returned" Aelita said.
"We don't need to know the identity of this person as long as we get the data that will allow us to confront Xana and Anti-Xana if needed."
"Head down to the Scanners?" Ulrich said.
"You got it. Get ready to be virtualized."
Everyone headed down to the Scanner Room and all of them were virtualized into the arena.
Sector 5
All of them were in the Arena Room, spinning, waiting for the wall to open. This time though things will be different. The mystery man will be running the show this time.
Unknown Location
"Now that they took the bait, time to reel them in."
Core Zone
The Lyoko Warriors entered the Core Zone expecting to find a welcoming committee. Except they found a open room.
"Wow, dead on the inside. Not a single soul" Odd said as they all looked around the big open room. Soon the growl began.
"Is it so dead now Odd?" Ulrich said as prepared for the battle.
A wall opened up and five creepers came out. The warriors stood back to back to each other. The creepers surrounded the Lyoko Warriors as they started to fire. They all reflected their shots destroying them on contact. Suddenly the room was shacking like from an earthquake. The room started to fall apart. Everyone was hiding for cover. Aelita was hiding in an opening while the other struggled to survive.
Suddenly, the room stopped shacking. Everyone was in different corners and the mystery man had everyone where he wanted them. Soon after huge invisible walls appeared and blocked the warrior's access to Aelita.
"No! Jeremy, we can't reach Aelita!" Yumi said.
"That's not the only problem!" Jeremy said and the wall opened in front of Aelita.
Aelita heard sounds that she didn't want to hear. When the monster turned the corner she saw it was the Seeker.
"Jeremy!" she cried.
"I can't do anything! The rematerialization program is all bugged up! The Seeker's presence stops me from doing anything!" Jeremy said in no position to help Aelita.
The Seeker then used it telekinesis to lift Aelita up. Aelita floated toward him and there was no way Aelita was going to escape its grasp this time. The Seeker grabbed Aelita with one of its arms and moved back to the opening it came from. Suddenly a bright white light came blinding the Lyoko Warriors and they head Aelita scream.
"What? No, no, no, no!" Jeremy said as he frantically typed. "I just lost all sight of Aelita. She wasn't devirtualized and she didn't appear in any other sectors!"
"Think she fell into the digital sea?" Ulrich said as the walls disappeared. "Hey, the invisible walls are gone."
"Get to the outlet!" Yumi said as they rushed over just to see a dead end. "They're gone!"
"You know what I'm thinking. I think the Seeker teleported back to the network graveyard" Jeremy said.
"Have you found a way to get us there yet?" Ulrich said.
"No, but I know I'm close. I'm bringing you in."
Lab
"They set a clever trap for us" William said.
"But Einstein said he didn't see any trace of them" Odd said.
"I think our mystery man sent me the fake e-mail. That's why I didn't see Xana or Anti-Xana on the e-mail" Jeremy said.
"Can you get us to the network graveyard?" Yumi said.
"Yes, but I need time."
"We don't have time Jeremy! Aelita is at the mercy of those two and if we're too late, they'll escape and our mystery man will win!"
"He already has a victory by capturing Aelita!"
"Listen," Laura started to say "I'll stay with Jeremy and help him get you guys to the network graveyard."
"Okay, might as well start now. Keep your phones on. As soon as the program is done, you guys are going in."
Everyone agreed and they all left in sadness. After four hours of working Jeremy ran a calculation. At the safe house Yumi's phone rang.
"Hello?" Yumi said half awake.
"Yumi, it's me Jeremy. Wake everyone up and get to the factory now! You're headed to the network graveyard to rescue Aelita!"
Yumi woke everyone up and they all headed to the factory to begin their rescue mission.
