Karasuno boys' volleyball team take a hike along the forest trail. It's daytime so nothing bad will happen, right? Wrong.

The boys stretched as they got off the bus, some were tired. Others ,like Nishinoya and Hinata, were full of energy.

"We're here!" they yelled simultaneously.

"Could you keep it down a notch?" Tanaka yawned rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Aww, come on Ryu, it'll be fun!" Nishinoya exclaimed.

"But Kiyoko isn't here." he pouted.

"Don't worry, Tanaka-senpai! You'll have lots of fun with us!"

Sugwara smiled and turned to Sawamura with a smile on his face, "Haha! I'm guessing this trip is gonna be pretty interesting."

Oh, how right he was.

Coach Ukai clapped his hands together, getting everyone's attention. "Listen up, kids. I know you all wanna have fun but there are some rules to follow. Anyone can get hurt at anytime." Right again, "so no roughhousing" Nishinoya and Tanaka's smiles deflated, "Sawamura and will be leading the trail. I'll be at the back making sure everyone keeps up. Takeda will be staying behind in case of emergency."

"Sugawara," the setter looked up, "I'm entrusting you with the med kit in case someone gets hurt. But I'd rather not have that be the case." he glared at Hinata, who looked away, face red with embarrassment as Tsukishima chuckled at him.

"As I said before Daichi and will lead and the rest of you will follow. No goofing off, got that?" he continued, this time glaring at Nishinoya and Tanaka. They laughed. "We will reach a clearing and you all will be able to rest, go for some sightseeing or just to hang out and talk. Or do whatever it is that you teenagers do these days. If there is any emergency let me know."

They then started walking.

"Aw man this is so boring!" Nishinoya whined, "why couldn't we do something fun like rock climbing or bungee jumping. Ooh! Skydiving would be great too!"

"Yeah!" beamed Tanaka, seemingly in a better mood from just a few minutes ago.

"Calm down Noya. This is much safer. Besides, I'm afraid of heights." murmered Asahi.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you!" he smiled warmly, almost tackling him in a hug from behind. They both laughed.

Not far behind, the four first years walked together. Tsukishima had his headphones on and was listening to music. Hinata got an idea.

"Hey," he tapped Yamaguchi on his shoulder, "Do you know what kinda music Tsukishima listens to?"

"No. he's never let me listen."

"It must be really embarrassing if he hasn't shown you. You're his best friend!" Hinata replied, astonished.

Kageyama smirked, "I bet he listens to classical music."

The trio tried to stifle their laughter, but failed, attracting their attention to Tsukishima, who put his headphones down around his neck.

"What?"

"What kinda music do you listen to Tsukki?" Hinata asked.

"None of your business. And it's Tsukishima to you." he replied.

Yamaguchi then snuck up from behind and yanked Tsukishima's headphones off, putting it on his own ears. It all happened so fast.

"Wow, Tsukki! You have a great taste in music!" he said, putting the headphones around his neck after a moment of listening. "How come you never let us listen? I thought it was gonna be embarrassing."

"... You can hold onto them for now." he was referring to the headphones. "Come on, lets go. I think I'm losing brain cells standing around these two."

"Tsukki!" Yamaguchi gasped.

"Shut up Yamaguchi." They walked ahead.

"Why you little- ugh! Theres no point." Kageyama scowled, almost about to give Tsukishima an earful of insults. Hinata laughed.

"Oi! What's so funny?"

"Nothing, nothing. But don't you think we're kinda like them now?"

"What are you on about?"

"Tsukishima cares about Yamaguchi, more than he lets on. On the outside he's really a mean, dumb jerk but he's got feelings too. It reminds me of us."

"Are you saying I'm the same as that blonde bastard?!" Kageyama yelled.

"Shut up!" someone, probably Tsukishima, shouted from in front. Hinata snorted.

"Don't you start.." he scowled.

"Whatever Yamayama." he giggled, "What I meant is that you care about me more than you show."

Kageyama went red, "I- I do not!"

"Sure" Hinata smirked.

But Hinata already knows he does no matter how many times he denies it. They are best friends after all.

They finally reached the clearing.

"Alright kids, we're here. Don't get lost." said Ukai.

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi sat under the sun, Yamaguchi still had the headphones on and Tsukishima was scrolling through his phone. Nishinoya and Tanaka were showing Asahi some cat memes. Narita, Kinoshita and Ennoshita were practising their spikes and receives.

Sugawara and Daichi sat under a tree.

"Hey, Daichi, I think I'm gonna take some pictures out there. The scenery is beautiful. Wanna come with?" Suga asked, taking his camera out of his backpack.

"I would, but with Ukai out (he was taking a smoke) I think I should stay here until he gets back."

"Oh that's okay. No problem. See ya." Sugawara took off.

"Hey, Yamayama!"

"What do you want?" he said slurping from his milk carton.

"Can you serve to me? I wanna practice my receives." he asked holding up his volleyball.

"Fine let's go. They were crappy anyways." Kageyama had a bad feeling about this. As he should.

"Hey!" Hinata whined.

They walked a little ways away from the clearing and they started. Hinata missed every time.

"One more time!" he missed

"Again!" he missed

"This time it'll work!"

Hinata recieved the ball. It went up, up, and far away.

"Now look what you've done, dumbass!"

"I didn't mean to!" a mischievous smile appeared on Hinata's face. "Race you to get the ball?" then he took off.

"Hey you got a headstart!" Kageyama whined and ran after him.

Sugawara sat on the grass, flipping through his pictures on his camera.

"I wish Daichi were here," he muttered to himself "He'd like these pictures." He looked up and his reflexes kicked in, as he just narrowly missed being hit in the head by a volleyball. "What the.." Kageyama and Hinata were dashing for the ball, and ran straight past the shaken third year.

"Hey! Where are you going!" he called out to them and started running after them. He set his camera down on the grass -the volleyball team were the only ones here and everyone knew he brought his camera- so he assured himself no one would pick it up and run off with it.

Hinata was running for about half a minute before he saw the ball, wedged in between a few rocks. Kageyama followed behind, catching his breath.

"Yes! I win!" he hollered before removing the ball. Kageyama's gut feeling got a lot worse now.

As Hinata removed the ball from the rocks. The ground started to shake and the rocks started to break apart.

Kageyama watched ,still out of breath, as the rocks started to collapse. Hinata was right at the centre of the whole thing, and before he would realise what was going on, he'd be pummeled by rocks.

"Shoyo, move!"

He felt a searing pain shoot up in his leg before everything went black.
