I don't own Danny Phantom or Justice League

Danny was awoken by a hand on his shoulder. He was up instantly, taking in the area. The hand belonged to a man in uniform, which he quickly recognized as the local police. Danny was just about to make a break for it when the cop grabbed onto his arm.

"Oh no you don't." The cop said, getting a better hold on Danny. It was a shame that kids like him were out on the streets, even more so when they tried to run from the police. 'Wonder why this one's out here.' The officer thought, making Danny stand up.

As Danny stood he winced a little, his foot hurt and without the pressure of his shoe it throbbed a little.

'Well at least I can stand.' Danny thought off handedly.

The officer seeing the wince looked down and saw Danny's foot. It had what looked like burned zigzagging lines on it, and they seemed to crawl up it.

"Are you alright?" The officer asked, concerned looking Danny in the eye. "How'd you get like this?"

Just then another voice called out. "Frank, what you got over there?"

"Charley, come over here. Alright boy you sit down right there and don't move." The officer said pointing to the crate Danny was just sleeping on. He didn't want him trying anything with how his foot looked.

Since the officer still had a hold on him, Danny decided not to argue. He had to think of a way out of this, and the more the officer thought Danny would behave the better his chances got.

That's when the other officer showed up. "What's going on?"

"Well I was right about seeing someone, the problem is his foot. I think we'll have to take him to the hospital first." The first officer said, turning from Danny to address his partner.

That's when Danny made his move. Bringing his left leg up, Danny kicked into the cop's side, forcing him off balance and making him let go. As soon as his hand was off, Danny made a break for it.

As his right foot hit the ground Danny knew he wouldn't get far. He had to transform, that would get him off his feet, numb the pain, and get him away from the cops. He just had to get out of sight, he didn't want any reports of a kid suddenly glowing and disappearing into thin air. That could raise unwanted flags.

Running out of the alley and into the street, Danny jumps back fast, to avoid being hit by a passing car. Not stopping though Danny started running down the sidewalk, gaining a hitch in his step. He had to find cover. That was when the cops came running out of the ally.

"Come kid, stop. This can't be good for you!" One yelled as they chased after Danny.

It was also at this time that a certain red, gold, and blue hero was flying over making her morning rounds.

Waking up that morning Diana checked her answering machine, to see if Bruce had left her any news. Not surprisingly no new messages were found.

'He did sound busy last night.' Diana thought as she had her morning coffee.

After finishing her coffee Diana changed into her hero gear and headed off on morning patrol.

As she flew she thought about Phantom, and wondered if she might run into him again.

'It be nice if he decided to be a hero. I might even end up with someone to talk with during my patrols, that's if I'm lucky of course.' Diana thought happily, as she scanned the streets below.

"Come kid, stop. This can't be good for you!"

Hearing the voice a street over Diana flew over to see what was happening. What she saw were two officers chasing after a surprisingly fast limping boy.

Deciding to end the chase before anyone got more hurt, Diana dove toward the teen, intending to block his way.

Normally just her sudden appearance would be enough to make anyone pause long enough to get caught by either her or the police. To her surprise though the boy not only kept going but also abruptly turned and rolled over the hood of a parked car into the street.

Not wanting him to get hurt Diana did the only thing she could think of. Pulling her lasso out she sent it flying after the boy, intending to pull him back.

As Danny ran down the sidewalk he noticed some movement overhead. All his time ghost fighting had made him more aware in all directions. So when it landed in front of him, he didn't even stop, even when he realized who it was.

Noticing an ally across the street, Danny turned and rolled over the front of a car. Landing on his feet, Danny gave it his all, he could feel his leg giving out.

It was due to this full on sprint Danny nearly got whiplash as he felt something land on him and pull him back hard. Flying back Danny used the momentum to turn himself sticking his left foot out in reflex. Not really meaning to and yet not trying to stop it, Danny's foot connected with someone's face.

As the lasso landed around the boy's body, Diana pulled back on the lasso. Though a little too late she realized she used too much force, making the teen sail backwards.

Seeing this Diana prepared to catch the flying kid. What she wasn't prepared for was the kick to the face. Due to this, she hit the ground with a thud and then a uff, from the boy landing on top of her.

"Ugh…" Danny groaned out. That was not one of his better landings. Though the body he landed on did help.

Suddenly Danny felt two sets of hands grabbing and pulling him off to the side, then pressing him into the ground. The officers from before.

That's when the cold feel of metal found its way to his wrist.

"Jeez kid, look at what you did. You went and put Wonder Woman on the ground." Frank said as he held the now cuffed Danny to the ground, while Charley went over and helped Wonder Woman up.

'Well this is just great.' Danny thought as he tried desperately to think of a way out that wouldn't expose him.

As Diana stood, she couldn't help but think that the kid had a good kick, as she held her jaw.

Frank seeing Wonder Woman up moved Danny so he was sitting before the three not taking his hand off him.

"Thanks Wonder Woman. If you hadn't come when you did we might have lost him." Charley said pointing at the kid.

"I'm glad to help, but may I ask why you were chasing after him?" Diana asked with obvious concern for the boy.

"Well you see, we spotted him in an alley, and based off that little run we had, I'd say it wouldn't be far fetched to think he's homeless, run away perhaps. He probably didn't want us to take him in." Charley explained looking over at the boy. Who was sitting quietly, watching them, no doubt waiting for a chance to escape.

Diana got the gist of it, but she still wondered why he was there, hurt of all things. Crouching down she got Danny's attention.

"Hello, I'm Wonder Woman. May I ask why you were in that alley?" She asked, looking him in the eye.

"It seemed to be well hidden and the box looked comfy enough." Danny said with a confused look on his face, that turned to panic. 'Why the hell did I say that!?'

Seeing this Diana became confused as well, that was until she noticed her lasso still around him.

"Oh I'm very sorry. I didn't realize that it was still on you." Diana said as she quickly started to remove the lasso from him. "My lasso can force people to tell the truth."

At that the two officers seemed to give the lasso as much of a wide berth as possible.

Danny glared at her. 'How do you forget that your truth lasso is wrapped around someone you're questioning?' Danny thought, annoyed. Though a part of him did appreciate the fact that she removed it without asking anything else.

"There, now why don't we start over? I'm Wonder Woman and you are." Diana said, trying to make up for the forced information.

Danny was about to just glare at her again when an idea formed. The police seemed content to let her keep questioning him. If he kept this going then maybe he could make some time for himself. And with that time he could focus his intangibility onto the cuffs without notice.

He'd have to be careful to specifically focus on the locking mechanism. If he could get that to let go, the cuffs would fall off and it could look like he just picked them. No powers, just a tricky teen.

Fighting the urge to smile Danny replied. "Tucker, my name's Tucker."

While it was a little weird to use the name, Danny felt his friend would have been fine with it.

"That's a nice name." Diana said kindly enough, though in the back of her mind something told her she shouldn't have removed the lasso. "Now that we're acquainted, mind explaining why you had to sleep in that alley and why your foot is like that." She added pointing at his burns. They looked pretty bad, it was impressive he got as far as he did.

"Oh those, they're just weird looking birthmarks." Danny said smartly.

The unamused look on all their faces told Danny he didn't have much time left. He was close to getting the cuffs off, just a few seconds was all he needed.

"You know it's rude to stare." Danny said working for every second he could.

"Alright that's…" Charley started only to be stopped by Danny. He was cutting it really close.

"Ok ok, how about this. You let me go and we all pretend this didn't happen. I go my way, not cause any trouble and you go yours having not seen anyone and also not having to do any paperwork." Danny said with a smile, the cuffs were undone.

"I'm afraid not. This city has strict rules when it comes to the underaged homeless and if I had to guess you're a minor. Which is all the reason we need to bring you in." Frank said stepping in. He had let Wonder Woman and the kid talk hoping that they may get something useful from the kid, but he was pretty sure the only truth said just then was when the lasso was at work.

"Yea, Frank's right. We should get going, thank you again Wonder Woman." Charley said, shaking her hand as she stood back up.

Reluctantly Diana said her goodbyes, she had wanted to talk with "Tucker" a bit more, find out why he was hurt, but seeing as they had things under control she relented.

'Maybe I can talk with the police chief like Bruce does?' Diana thought as she flew off with a wave. She wanted to make sure he was ok, it wasn't every day she came across someone like him.

This was Danny's chance. As Frank helped Danny up, Danny stumbled causing both officers to move to catch him.

Both thinking that he was falling weren't ready for when he pushed from a fall into a sprint. Frank still having his hand on Danny tried to hold on but it almost felt like his hand passed through him, as Danny ran straight past Charley.

"Damn it! Get back here!" Charley yelled as he started after the kid.

Danny made for that same alley as earlier. His leg burned, every step hurt, but he was almost there.

Entering the alley he made for the trash bin a little ways in. Jumping behind it Danny went ghost and invisible right after.

It was then that the two officers entered and soon ran past.

"Come on kid! We just want to help!" Frank yelled as they approached the end of the alley only to be sorely disappointed. The kid was gone.

Danny in the meantime was applying ice to his throbbing leg.

'Well I've had worse mornings.' Danny thought as another pain shot up his leg. 'Though this does make the top ten.'

As the officers left Danny felt himself relax for the first time that morning. Now with his immediate problems solved he could think about what he needed to do.

'Alright game plan. After yesterday GIW will be on high alert. While their base is in need of repair, I also need some time to rest and recover. There's also that new weapon of theirs. How to deal with that?' Danny thought as he started to float up over the buildings. He needed to go get his shoe back, he had been running half barefoot.

Not far from where Danny floated up we find Diana searching the streets below. She had heard the officer yell and could guess what happened. Flying back fast she spotted the two officers running into an alley. Following she quickly got to the end seeing no sign of the teen.

From there she flew up to see if she could find him, but no such luck could be found. He was gone.

'How the hell does an injured teen just disappear like that?' Diana thought as she flew around looking for any sign of the teen.

As she continued her search two fire trucks went rushing by, lights flashing, sirens blaring, an overall good sign that she was needed.

"Shoot, I'll have to look later." Diana said with a sigh to herself.

Following the direction they went she noticed black smoke in the distance.

'This can't be good.' She thought as she got closer and saw the building. It was an apartment complex, with at least twelve stories. The third and fourth floors were engulfed in flames. It was obvious that the firefighters were having a hard time getting past the flames to the higher levels.

Seeing a man yelling orders, she flew down to see what she could do to help.

Before she could even say anything though the man spoke first. "Wonder Woman, perfect. John get her two masks! Ok here's what I need you to do. I need you to fly up to the fifth floor and start to evacuate the residences inside. Once everyone is out signal me and I'll have the hoses start to focus on that floor. We need to keep the fire from spreading while also keeping the third and fourth floors from giving out. While that's happening, start working your way up. We'll keep trying to get men in to help you but right now the fires are just too strong. Got it?" The man said fast and with affority.

Diana thanked her luck that she was used to Batman's quick order giving.

Turning she was immediately greeted by a man with masks.

"One for you, and one for anyone you find." He said before running off.

Putting on the mask she flew up over the flames and through a window on the fifth floor.

Finding herself in a hallway she moved to the first door. Banging on it she listened for any sounds. She may not have had Superman's hearing but she still had better hearing than most.

No noise, no breathing, no one in the room. One down. Looking down the hall she saw she had many many more to go.

'This is going to take a while.' Diana worried.

Else where we find Danny flying through the air with one shoe successfully recovered. He was now looking for a place to quietly recover, away from prying eyes.

As he flew Danny started to notice the black clouds of smoke.

"Nope. Not my problem." He said turning away, he did not want to deal with it. His leg was hurting and something that big was probably being televised. He just narrowly escaped being caught that morning, he was not about to go and throw all his hard work down the drain.

Though as Danny flew he started to feel guilty. He could help, his ice powers would easily put out any fire. It would be as simple as breathing.

"Damn it!" Danny yelled as he turned and sped toward the looming smoke clouds. He just knew this was a bad idea.

Meanwhile Diana was almost done with the fifth floor. From what she could tell almost all of the floor's residents had evacuated and left the floor. The few that did remain were easy enough to get out.

There was one woman who nearly screamed her ears off as she flew her down, but other than that no real problems. The firefighters even seemed to start getting a handle on the fire.

Making her way down the hallway again Diana heard a loud groaning sound that seemed to come from all around.

'That can't be good.' Diana thought as she quickened her pace. She needed to get out there and see if she could do anything about the groaning. This building still had many people trapped inside.

She was just about to jump out the nearest window when she heard the faintest sound of a whimper from a door to her left.

Acting fast Diana kicked the door in and was greeted by flames and smoke. The fire from below had eaten through the ceiling and had made the floor give out.

Peering through a thick layer of smoke spotted a small dog cowering next to what she hoped was the unconscious body of its owner.

Leaping over the hole Wonder Woman picked up the dog in one arm and threw its own over her shoulder.

The building creaked and groaned again. This time much louder than before.

Diana needed a way out and fast. Seeing the window across the room she dove through it sending glass flying.

Rushing toward the ground Diana handed the dog and owner off to the paramedics. Turning back to the building she bit back a curse.

The building was tilting. The upper half getting dangerously close to the point of no return.

'I could try to hold it in place...No there's already a lot of stress on it, if I carelessly start to push it'll just fall apart faster.'

Suddenly a blue blast hit the building. Turning Wonder Woman saw a Black and White blur fly overhead.

It was moving fast circling the build, shooting the blue ray.

Diana was about to confront the blur when she realized the building was icing over and the fire was dying down.

It was putting out the fire and stabilizing the building to a degree. At least enough so that she could now push it back into place.

Jumping up Diana positioned herself with a solid wall. "I'm going to push. You add in supports once it's straight."

Not checking to see if the blur even acknowledged her, Diana began to slowly push against the building.

It groaned horribly in protest, but held together. It wasn't long before it was straight again.

Looking over her shoulder Diana saw the blur slow down into someone she recognized. It was the quiet kid from the other day, Phantom. Apparently he had some type of ice power.

He built one more supporting ice pillar, before finally stopping his shooting.

This freed up Diana allowing her to fly over. "Have to say, it's nice seeing you again. Thank you for your help back there."

Danny gave a nod before turning away. He needed to leave town and fast. It wouldn't take the GIW long to see the inevitable footage taken of the fire.

Flying off, Danny decided that his first course of action should be getting as far from the city as possible. The second was to find a quiet place to lay low.

"So where are you heading?"

Danny spun in the air. Positioning his back away from the voice, focusing on finding its source. His airborne fighting experience kicking in.

Diana watched the boy slightly amused. For as good as his reaction was, it did little in hiding the fact that he had had no clue she had followed him.

Danny finally leveled his eyes on blue and gold. 'Where the hell di...No focus.'

Danny quickly took off again. This time keeping an eye over his shoulder. Much to his annoyance Wonder Woman started to follow him again.

"What do you want?!" Danny finally yelled over his shoulder.

"I wanted to find out why you run away every time I see you."

Danny shook his head. 'Heroes, they can never just leave things alone.'

"I got to go. Just leave me alone, ok?" Danny said, not looking back at her.

A moment passed. Danny knew she was still there. He could practically feel her stare. Sighing Danny turned invisible, and made a hard right. He didn't have time to deal with her.

Diana was a little annoyed. She literally just blinked and he was gone. This was the second time he had run off.

Frowning she turned around to head back to the burnt building. She needed to give a statement.

Diana couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. This Phantom kid needed help, even if he didn't say it. 'If only he'd just talk with me.'

Sighing again, Diana was just about to land when she heard the sound of energy blasts. Quickly she scanned the area.

It didn't take long for her to find a direction. Off in the distance a hail storm of green energy came shooting out of trees and into the air.

Not a second later she was flying off toward the fire.

Hi everyone, I finally finished a chapter. Been some time, I know. I can only write when I feel like it. So as usual, let me know what you think. And Enjoy.
