Feeling hands on her body, Alexandra opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was a giant woman. "Katherine, you have a girl." the giant woman said.
Alexandra, hearing this looked around, as the giant woman carried her to her new mother.
She realised that she got reborn and surprisingly she is not scared.
Feeling another pair of hands on her, she looks to the person that is now holding her. With her baby vision, she could clearly see long brown locks pulled in a bun, with some curls hanging free. She looks to the woman's face and sees the myth, the legend, the baddest bitch, Katherine Pierce.
At this, Alexandra starts thinking back to what she last did to end up here. She knows that Katherine didn't have another daughter, for God's sake, she is a vampire.
She remembers thinking about if Katherine and Klaus had a child together and then falling asleep.
She thinks that either someone heard her wish or the shooting star passed and made her wish come true.
"You are so beautiful, my daughter. О, красивата ми дъще, как бих искала да те отгледам." (Oh, my beautiful daughter, how I wish I could raise you) said Katherine, caressing her face.
"If only your father wasn't after me." she whispered.
"What's her name?" asked the giant woman or now known as the nurse.
"Nikolina, her name is Nikolina Rebekah Petrova." answered Katherine.
Nikolina, she named me after my father, and gave me her birth last name, and my aunt's name as my middle name.
Katherine stopped in front of the Gilbert house in Mystic Falls where Isobel left Elena, carrying the bundle in her arms.
She removed the blanket from the baby's sleeping face, seeing the tufts of blonde hair, she smiled, caressing Nikolina's cheeks. She pressed her lips on her forehead "This is where I leave you, Nikolina. But don't worry. Ще се видим скоро. Обичам те, дъще." (We will see each other soon. I love you, my daughter.)
Katherine, now holding the baby, put her hand in her bag, searching for the envelope. She took hold of it, and pressing one last kiss on her baby's forehead, she laid her down on the porch and put the envelope in her blanket.
Katherine then rang the doorbell and sped across the street, jumping on the tree. She watched as a woman got out and spotted her baby, as that same woman picked her up and saw the letter, as the woman let out a tear and caressing the baby's face she said "Don't worry, Nikolina will want for nothing."
Katherine smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes. She let out a breath as the woman got in the house, carrying the baby and closed the door. "I will return, Nikolina." promised Katherine to herself, jumping down from the tree and speeding away.
Five years later
"Niki, that's not fair." pouted Elena.
Elena and I were playing outside with Caroline and Bonnie. Both Elena and I had are hair done in pigtails, wearing sun dresses.
"Life's not fair, Elly." I answered.
She remembered her birth, she remembered Katherine, despite everything that will happen in the future, she loves her mother, and she can't wait to meet her dad.
Katherine was watching them from afar, seeing her daughter now, she thinks it was better that she left her, if she didn't, her daughter then wouldn't have any friends. She looks at her daughter and smiles seeing her running from her friends while they play Hide n Seek.
She sees her daughter run towards her and trips. Katherine stands up from the bench and runs towards her.
"Honey, are you okay?" she asks, crouching down.
"Oh, I'm alright, thank you, miss."
Nikolina gets up from the ground and looks up "You are so pretty, I hope when I grow up, I get to be as pretty as you."
Katherine smiles, plucking the flower, she puts the flower in her hair "Thank you, sweety. You are pretty, too."
"Oh, my name is Nikolina. What's your name?"
"Katherine."
"Nice to meet you, miss Katherine. Oh, I have to go, byee." she says as she runs back to hide behind the tree.
Eleven years later
"So, tonight's the bonfire. Can we skip family night?" asked Elly.
Nikolina knows that tonight her parents will die, but if she stops that, who knows what's going to happen? Katherine, after she first met her, showed up a few times, probably to check on her. And knowing she loves her is enough for her.
"Yeah, mom. Please?" Nikolina asks as she checks the message from her boyfriend, Tyler Lockwood.
She and Tyler got together at the last year's bonfire and since then they were the power couple.
If Nikolina could say so herself, she thinks that her personality is similar to that of her mom's and Rebekah's. She knows that, supernaturally, she is ab untriggered werewolf, and that if she dies, she will return as a vampire. She thought that she will be a witch also, since her grandmother Esther was one, but it turns out she is a traveler. She tried some of their harmless spells and also witchy spells, but her traveler side won over.
She is an AP student and is fluent in Bulgarian, Spanish, Italian, Portugues, Elder Futhark and Czech.
"Ugh, alright. You can go," Miranda started, only to be interrupted by "Yay, thank you, mom" thanked Elly and Nikolina at the same time.
"If you return earlier!" finished their mom, her finger pointed at both of them.
Later that night
"Miss Gilbert?" said the voice over the phone.
Nikolina stopped walking she answered "Yes, who is this?"
"Miss Gilbert, I am afraid your family has been in the car crash. Your sister is alive, but I am sorry to say your parents didn't make it."
"I'm coming to the hospital." she said, the tears freely flowing from her eyes.
