Disclaimer: Anything you recognize, I do not own. I hope you enjoy this story. This chapters mostly filler and explaining the Weasley family. I changed a bit to make the years make more sense.
Harry couldn't help but be nervous, after all she was entering a brand new world. Still, she was excited too, she had read every one of her school books cover to cover and some of the ones Bill had recommended about ruins and curse-breaking as well as a book on traditions which had a section on goblins. She thought it would be pretty helpful at school to know these things before going in and Bill had really spiked her interest. She also felt that everyone should read the book so they don't offend people because apparently, wizards were touchy.
Still, she couldn't wait and managed to find a carte easily enough since she came so early. She hoped Bill would find her and luckily, just before the train left the station, he managed to come into her carte grinning. "Hiya harry."
"Bill," she said grinning back.
"You ready for your first day at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry."
She nodded, "Definitely. I can't wait." She quickly brought the subject to the books he had recommended, "You were right, those books were so brilliant."
Bill could not keep the grin off his face. It was nice to have someone excited over the same topics as he was. His brothers and sister found him boring and never wanted to discuss things with him. "Oh, I brought my book on Egypt, you mentioned being interested, I've already finished it so I thought you might like to read it."
"Thanks," she said excitedly. "Your book suggestions were perfect. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't read them before starting. Probably have been super lost."
"Glad I could help. I have some sandwiches, would you like a bite?"
"Sure," she sad accepting a bite and when the lady came around selling treats she shared her own. They were not bothered during the ride. A few people came in before sneering Ravenclaws since they were discussing the books and left.
Harry was sorted into Gryffindor and happily took a seat beside the slightly older boy who welcomed her happily.
HHHH
The next day came too quickly and Harry was glad it was not a class day. They were given a chance to get settled. She chose to do so by sitting in one of the comfortable chairs in the common room and relaxing. Of course, that would not last long. "Harry, come on," Bill said finding her alone in the common room reading a book on Egypt he had lent her. "Come on Harry."
She looked surprised as he pulled her to her feet. "What...where are we going," She said confused as she was pulled towards the portrait.
"Somewhere that's not here," he said lightly. "You've not even explored the school yet."
His excitement was contagious and she happily followed him. "Okay," she said as both went running.
Percy looked at them suspiciously knowing that the only reason students rushed out like that was to cause trouble. "Where are you both off to," Percy demanded.
Bill wasn't at all bothered by his stern older brother. "Somewhere that's not here," Bill said easily.
"Don't be off getting into trouble," he warned. "Or else I will be writing home to mom. Between you and the twins..."
Bill interrupted not ready to listen to the lecture he had gotten a dozen times the previous year. "Don't be so lame Percy," Bill returned as the two of them took off out of the room.
They slowed down once they were out of the common room. Harry couldn't help but be curious. He had mentioned a brother named Charlie and she knew that the redheaded boy in her year was his younger brother. It seemed they had quite a large family. "Is he another of your brothers," Harry asked curiously.
"Yeah," Bill said nodding. Unlike Ron he loved having a big family. "I have Charlie, he is 19 and working in a dragon preserve, Percy is 16 but he is in fifth-year because his birthdays in august, Fred and George are third years but they are fourteen, they both got dragon pox when they were eleven and weren't able to start on time. I think mom was crazy, to have the twins at one year old then have me but...well shit happens. Ron is about a year and a half younger than me, he's 11 but will be twelve in January, then there's Ginny whose about a year and five months younger than Ron but she'll be starting next year. Crazy right."
Harry nodded. That was a lot of siblings. She had never met someone with so much family before. It was a bit crazy but she was also Jealous. She wished she had brothers and sisters. "Bloody brilliant though. That is a lot of siblings."
"I have six siblings, its wonderful chaos. Ron always complains because everything we get was second hand because there are so many of us but I think its brilliant," Bill stated. "Do you have any siblings."
"No...my parents died before I was two years old," She admitted. "I live with my muggle aunt and uncle. I do have a cousin. Dudley. He is about four months older than me but we do not get along at all. He is a bit of a bully. I'd love to have six brothers and sisters."
Bill couldn't help but think that growing up like that sounded lonely. "You can borrow mine if you like. Charlies awesome, he works with dragons in Romania, Percys...he's kinda too much of a rule follower but growing up he got put in charge of the twins a lot so he has good reasons for it. He is planning on working in the ministry...boring. Who would want to sit at a desk all day? Don't we get enough of that in school?"
Harry laughed, "Definitely."
"Then there are the twins, they want to open a joke shop. I think they will be brilliant," he said grinning. "They are the best pranksters in the school. Always causing chaos. McGonagall said they are her biggest headaches and I think that is a compliment."
"Definitely." It was probably a compliment to pranksters. To outshine every other student at Hogwarts in the trouble department.
"It will be the best joke shop ever. No doubt about it. They are super smart but they use their smarts for pranks, not school. Drives mom batty. Then there's me. I'm clearly the best Weasley."
"Clearly," she agreed giggling. He said it dramatically taking a bow causing her to laugh harder.
"Ron, he's my only little brother...he does not like coming from a family our size. Cause you never really get new things and well, we don't have a lot of money. Dad does okay, he works at the ministry but with seven kids, it's a bit crazy. But you can get stuff anywhere, family is something you can't just go out and buy."
Harry could not help but agree to that. She hated not having family. She knew she had some money exactly how much she wasn't sure but she had no family. Shed trade it all away if she could have her parents or a brother and sister. "Yeah, I think you are super lucky."
"So do I but they drive me crazy sometimes. I don't know what Ron wants to do after school, don't think he knows which is weird. Since all of us have been planning careers since the first year but he is spoiled as the youngest boy. Then there is Ginny, she is super spoiled as the only girl but she is tough for a girl. Don't get on her bad side."
"Neat," Harry said.
The subject changed quickly as Bill found one of the secret passages he had found the year before and quickly showed it to her.
