Disclaimer: I apologize about the slow updates. I will try to do better but I make no promises. This isn't a long chapter. It is just a sort of, yes time is passing chapter. And something I think that these more rebellious teens would get a kick out of. If you recognize it I do not own it. I am using Grammarly so hopefully, the editing will be better.

Harry couldn't believe it, it made absolutely no sense. It was the fifth time that she said so and Fred just snickered amused since she seemed stuck on that point. "Come on Freddy, you have to agree with me," Harry said as they trudged along. It was illogical and seemed absolutely pointless.

"I do I do," he said laughing, he had thought that she would be excited but this reaction was a surprise. She seemed almost angry. They were in detention in the forbidden forest. It was just her style of activity yet she seemed angry. "it is just amusing how pissed off you are."

"I'm not angry, I mean I prefer this to scrubbing cauldrons but there is just no logic," Harry stated. "We were in the forbidden forest at night and got caught."

"Yes," Fred said hiding a laugh.

"So our detention is to go to the forbidden forest at night," Harry repeated. Fred just laughed more. "I mean, the illogicalness of the entire thing...it makes the professors complete and utter hypocrites. Oh, the forest is so bloody dangerous, you were so bad let us lecture you for a good forty-five minutes about why going out in the forbidden forest at night is bad and wrong and against the rules, how we could have died...oh and go to the forbidden forest and hunt down the monster bad enough to kill unicorns. Its detention. Go risk your life and do the opposite of what we just said. It is so friggen stupid."

"Rules are only there to break, as they just affirmed," Fred said lightly as he climbed up onto a pathway probably made by centaurs. Of course, he understood how absolutely stupid it was. But he was enjoying the free time in the forest. It was something they did anyways so he really did not consider it proper detention. "Free time in the forest and George can't even get pissy at me."

Harry cringed, whenever the twins fought, it was hard on everyone. He had been angry that he was outside in the forest at night. George worried and when he got really worried he yelled. It was uncomfortable to see the twins fighting as they were always so close. "Is he still pissed?"

Fred shrugged, "A bit," he admitted. "I mean I understand his point. I wonder at night and he worries but I can't sleep and there is only so much to explore inside. I mean, I'm a bit careless, yes, but this...I've been in here so many times, doesn't really scare me. He always thinks about what's the worst that could happen. Honestly, I think he got all the common sense in the split."

"Neville's the same. What if the Cerberus ate you, what if Snape murdered you in your sleep, if you are worried about consequences all the time, you'll never live," Harry said lightly. "Though I do appreciate that Neville would go along with some of my rule-breaking. It's nice to have someone who actually enjoys it.

Fred laughed. "I know. You could never call George a rule follower but I like having someone else I can share this with."

Harry bolted forward and Fred followed seeing what she did. A unicorn laying in the path. It wasn't doing so well, it was clear what they were here to look for. "What sort of thing could do this," Harry asked horrified. "What could hurt a unicorn?"

"I don't know," Fred admitted. "I don't think any spell I know can save it either. We can try levitating it to the school but we are pretty deep inside the forest."

Harry cringed, something did not feel right. She tended to listen to her instincts and began quickly looking around. She fell backward as a tall dark figure swooped forwards.

Oh shit," Fred said stumbling back pulling his wand. Luckily they did not have to fight it since two centaurs appeared chasing it off.

"Merlin," Harry said shocked.

"What are two students doing this far in the forest at night," One of them demanded. "It is a dangerous place for children."

Harry wasn't offended by that. Clearly, they had more sense than the Professors. She was not taking the blame for the professor's stupid decision. "We are actually here for punishment," Harry offered.

The centaurs glared, punishment, what punishment would send children to the forbidden forest. "please explain that."

"Well, see, we were out in the forest at night," Fred offered.

"And the professors caught us."

"So they sent us out in the forbidden forest."

"At night."

"To hunt for injured unicorns," Harry finished.

Both of the centaurs breathed heavily, noses flaring angrily as they stomped their hooves. "Sending colts to do the work of grown men," One of them growled. "Putting colts lives in danger...that has no point, no logic."

"We agree, 100%," Harry said not going to argue with the man...centaur. She had said just the same and he had saved there lives. "I think punishing us by making us do the thing we were punished for is just giving us permission to continue breaking the rules. I'm offended that they want us to hunt something killing unicorns. Okay, doing this stuff on our own is stupid but it sort of shows they seem to have absolutely no care for our well beings. Sort of makes me want to break every rule they have in place just to give them hell."

Fred snorted leaving out she'd do that anyway. "We are awful grateful you saved our arses though," Fred said. He had best get that out there. He was pretty sure the centaurs did not usually choose to help the students or Wizards. They tended not to like wizards so they could have just gone the other way but instead, chose to help them. "I mean, the nearest spring we can use for escape is a way off. I don't think we could outrun it and we sure as hell couldn't fight that thing. Though I think I'm going to learn some fighting hexes before the next nighttime wanders through the forest."

"Yeah, you were brilliant," Harry said excitedly. "I mean, you kicked that things arse. Absolutely awesome. It got scared just seeing you guys. I knew centaurs were fierce warriors when they wanted to be but to see it, amazing. You are awesome. I am Harry by the way. It is nice to meet you. Thank you for saving us."

"Fred," Fred offered.

"I am Firenze, this is Bane" the centaur who was speaking offered. Firenze stomped slightly though he was fairly proud of the distinction. Few would give such a compliment to something their ministry felt was more beast than man. these were strange humans. So disrespectful to some and yet they treated everything from a hippogriff to a centaur with the greatest respect. He had seen them many times. It was interesting to watch.

Fred just looked to Harry amused. He loved how she got so excited over the strangest things and even the scariest events just seemed to roll off her. "We shall walk you to the edge of the forest," Firenze offered. "Tell the professors that colts are not to hunt monsters...they are to be protected not to do the protecting."

"Sure thing," Harry said easily. "I was planning on giving the gits a peace of my mind."

"Yeah so was I," Fred said knowing Harry could have died because of there choice of punishment.

"What about the Unicorn," Harry said worriedly.

"I shall take it, we will attempt to heal it," Bane returned. "It will be unlikely to live though."

Harry nodded as they headed towards the school. Thanks to the Centaur, they made it there without issue and returned to there dorms.

The next morning came quickly and Fred could see Harry had something planned. "Professor McGonagall," She said approaching the head table. Something rarely done during meals so it drew a lot of attention.

"Yes."

"How is giving two students detention in the forbidden forest allowed? Especially hunting injured unicorns while something capable of killing unicorns is there?"

"Excuse me," Flitwick demanded.

"Fred and I were given detention last night in for forbidden forest. We were attacked and saved by the centaurs. Just so you know we take that as we have permission now to go in there as often as we want," Harry said. "Since you sent us there so it cannot be that forbidden or dangerous can it?"

McGonagall stuttered as the other professors looked horrified. The students were muttering to each other wondering what was going on. "Thanks for the permission professor. It was quite the experience."

"Firenze was really mad that you sent foals into the forest to do adults work. He thinks wizards are stupid and illogical. I think he's right," Harry said.

She said nothing else, just returned to the table, watching the chaos unfold. Yeah, that was better then any revenge they could do.
