A/N: Welcome back to Lost! I'm impressed with how well this story is doing already. Well I guess it's because of the FF7 Remake that came out recently. Anyway, onto the chapter! Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 2: The New Turk
(Zack POV)
It had been ten days since Zack had learned of Cloud's death and his memory was slowly coming back. Right now the former Turks were leading Zack to their hideout. Ever since Tseng and the other Turks had gone undercover, life had been hard. Stuck on the outskirts of Midgar, the Trucks and Zack had had to dodge infantryman after infantryman. Until Zack was almost fully healed. Finally, they were going to Midgar.
The city felt strange somehow, but Zack didn't have time to ponder on any of the things that had happened recently. Finally, they made it to an all too familiar church. A girl with brown hair, brown hair, a red head band and silver armor stood waiting for them. She looked ready for battle. She nodded to them and they all entered the church. Inside the church was destroyed benches, broken stained glass and a flower bed being tended to by a familiar young woman.
"Who is this?" the brown haired woman asked, her eyes narrowed with suspicion. "Is he with Shinra?"
"He was with Shinra, just like I was. He's a EX - SOLDIER First Class. Zack, this is Jessie, the newest "Turk", though I have a feeling that we should change that name," Tseng replied calmly.
"Nice to meet you, Zack," Jessie said, more cheerful than she was before. Zack was confused, one second ago, she was talking like she didn't trust him. Jessie moved over to Tseng, a smile on her face. "He's kinda cute."
"Who, Zack?" Tseng replied with a chuckle and a glance at Zack.
Zack ignored them and walked up to the girl tending to the flowers. He was right, the woman tending to the flowers was Aerith. She looked up when Zack walked up to her. Tears spread to the corners of her eyes as she recognized him.
"Zack?" she whispered, her voice choked with tears.
"Yes Aerith, it's me," Zack said, happy himself to see her again.
"I was worried you wouldn't come back. Zack, I missed you," Aerith said, getting up and hugging him. Zack smiled and held her to him. "I was worried that you were dead. Though in my heart I knew you weren't. I was so scared for you."
"Well, you don't have to worry anymore, I'm back," Zack said, smiling at her. Zack's expression darkened as he remembered Cloud. Aerith seemed to notice that he had grown somber and she looked up at him. "But I lost one of my friends. One of my closest friends, Cloud."
"I'm sorry about that," Aerith said.
"It's not your fault, it's Shinra's," Zack said.
"Okay, love birds, let's break it up. Right now we need to discuss battle plans. You two can talk later. Come on, Zack, let's go," Tseng said. Zack nodded and smiled at Aerith before leaving the church. Zack looked back at Aerith and saw a sad smile on her face. "Okay, now that we're all here. Does anybody have any ideas on defeating Shinra?"
"We could infiltrate the headquarters," Jessie suggested.
"Too dangerous. We won't infiltrate unless we have to," Tseng replied.
"We could bomb a Mako Reactor," Zack suggested.
Everyone turned to him, surprised looks on their faces at his suggestion. Zack knew that they thought he was joking. But he couldn't sit around and watch ideas like infiltration go out. He saw a considering look in Tseng's eyes. Jessie looked happy with the suggestion. Zack knew it was most likely because she still got some of her infiltration plan.
"I agree. What do you think?" Tseng asked, looking everyone over.
"Sure," Reno said.
"Why not?" Cissnei said. "Does anyone here know how to work a bomb?"
"I can work a bomb! But the question is, where do we get one?" Jessie said.
"Shinra Headquarters you should think. But we'll need to be careful. This isn't an infiltration, we're just trying to find a bomb. Which shouldn't be too hard considering almost all of us used to work with Shinra. Especially you, Tseng, Reno, Rude and Cissnei. The Turks know where everything is, right?" Zack asked.
"Yes, yes we do. That way we won't have to spend time looking for a bomb. Nice job, Zack. You're good at planning," Tseng said, an impressed look on his face.
"Well they don't call me Zack the Puppy for nothing," Zack said, though saying the nickname Angeal had given him sent a pang in Zack's heart. "Well, the bomb isn't going to find itself. Let's go."
The team cheered and left the church at a quick walk. Zack smiled, this infiltration might actually be fun.
Meanwhile at Shinra Headquarters
"Our reports say that the Turks helped the target escape," Heidegger said, bowing respectfully.
"Hmph, of course they did. After all, they are friends with the puppy aren't they?" President Shinra asked. "We'll just have to send out out newest creation."
Both men looked to a large cell where a large wolf like beast growled, it's sharp claws trying to unlock the cell. Both men laughed and Heidegger grabbed a piece of meat. They had never seen how this new creation handled food. As soon as it hit the ground, the beast grabbed it in its jaws and roughly tore it apart, growling in the process. After a few minutes, it spat the bones out of the cage.
They looked at the bones and were shocked to see blood and torn flesh still on.
"It's not polite to play with your food...Angeal," Shinra said.
A/N: Dun dun dun! *Says in narrator voice* Next time on Lost, Zack and the Turks will infiltrate Shinra and find the bomb. Meanwhile, Shinra and Heidegger will set their beast free. Will our heroes make it out before this beast named Angeal finds them? And why is this strange creature named after Zack's mentor? Find out next time! *I'm done using a narrator voice* XD, well, remember to review favorite and follow! Till next time whenever that may be.
