I haven't updated in so long. Sorry, but e-learning sucks. Tremendously sucks. This is the chapter where Nico's anxiety shows.
Nico carried the- seriously, what was it- contraption to a clearing in the woods. He put it down and rubbed his sore back. "Why is that so heavy?"
"Nevermind how heavy it is, what is it?" Piper had been bugging Leo for answers the whole trip, which had taken 7 minutes and 31 seconds. It felt like longer.
Leo grinned his trademark Leo grin. Jason, Piper, and Nico exchanged looks. The Leo grin was never a good sign. "Ok, ok Beauty Queen. Don't want to get your makeup ruined." Leo then proceeded to run away from Piper. Jason left to go get them. Nico was now alone in the forest. And so his thoughts drifted to Will.
The argument seemed so silly. At least now. How ironic that the quest had come, and it was Will, not Nico that had gone. Safety was no longer an issue for Nico, only Will. Nico thought bitterly to himself, I should have gone. Not him. But then the argument would had been pointless.
Jason, Piper, and Leo came back soon after. Leo gave a long and complicated speech on how his machine was programmed to take care of the annual fireworks show, which was set in two weeks. The best part is that it could float (it was so heavy, how did it float) and was much smaller than the boat previously used. The fireworks would be much more visible.
But of course that wasn't all. "If it can float, why is it in the forest? Don't tell me that we dragged it out here for no reason!" Piper was getting more frustrated, and Jason had to calm her down.
Leo grinned. "Well... it can also fire Twizzlers. (I could literally think of nothing else withput having to create a forest fire. Then Juniper and Grover would haunt me in my dreams.)
Of course, Nico thought. It's Leo, of course it's random. Of all the things...
"Let me guess. Payback for the Demeter cabin covering the Bunker 9 entrance with vines?" Jason said, shaking his head.
"Yep. They'll hate this. Now you guys can go. All I have do to now is fill it up with candy."

Jason and Piper had left long ago, to the Zeus cabin. Leo had gone to raid the kitchen, and Nico was left in the forest. The dryads and other nature spirits had gone to a small pond in the forest. Nico was completely alone. The very trees seemed to whisper his insecurities to him, echoing the darkest parts of his mind. Subconsciously, he took out his Hades mythomagic figure. Sometimes, he still thought about leaving Camp Half-blood for good. Nico's mind whispered to hime, Your power over the dead is more than enough to survive. No one cares for you. Hazel is set to leave soon. Will doesn't love you anymore. What good are you...
These thoughts swirled around Nico's head. Ever since the argument, his anxiety had flared up again. Some, Nico could control. His sister didn't want to leave, but as centurion, she had a duty to Camp Jupiter. But Nico and Will hadn't talked for days. Iris messages were too risky during a mission like this one. A child of Ares, a powerful one, was bound to attract monsters. IMing someone could cost them valuble seconds. And if Will died-
"Nico?" Nico turned around and saw Lou Ellen. "Nico, you should come."
"Why?" Nico was rather confused, especially because Lou looked- scared?
His confusion disappeared when he heard a scream from camp. It sounded like it was coming from the camp borders.
"Nico, they're back from the quest. Will is bleeding..."
"What are you not telling me, Lou Ellen?" Nico couldn't bear it if...
"He's really hurt, Nico. The Apollo cabin says that he's hanging on by a thread, he's lost so much blood."
Nico didn't even wait to reply. He went running towards the infirmary.
