Bonus Chapter 3 - Siblings
Ana's POV
"Hey Mia," I greeted as I answered her call.
"Ana!" Mia screeched, "We're going Christmas shopping tomorrow!"
I chuckled to myself. Mia was really good at being bossy. She and Christian had that in common.
"Sure," I laughed.
"Yay!" she screamed, "See you later!"
She hung up the call before I could say bye.
Oh, Mia!
Mia's POV
When my brother told me he had a girlfriend, I thought he was lying. I loved my big brother, but I think you all know why I was surprised he was able to land someone like Ana.
Christian was always independent and solitary. He never mentioned having any friends at school and was kind of a loner. Don't get me wrong, I would hear all these girls talk about how hot they thought my brother was, but he was never interested in any of them.
And then the first week he started going to a new school, he was bringing home a friend who happened to be a girl. And gorgeous.
Everyone in my family saw the change in Christian. He laughed more, he smiled more, and overall, he seemed happier. We were all so thankful for Ana. My parents were on the brink of sending him away, too. Ana could not have come at a better time.
Anyways, Ana and I have become good friends. She was like the big sister I never had. Plus, she gave great fashion advice, and her closet might be better stocked than mine!
"Christian!" I screamed across the hall, so he could hear me from his room.
"What Mia," he yelled back.
"I'm stealing your girlfriend tomorrow!" I shouted.
"What?" Oooh, now he sounded mad.
He walked into my room and said, "What are you doing with Ana tomorrow?"
"Shopping," I replied, giving him the sweetest smile possible.
He rolled his eyes at me and whined, "Mia! Ana and I were supposed to hang out tomorrow."
"Sorry!" I tried to sound apologetic, "I guess you're going to have to find a new friend."
He definitely looked annoyed at me and started to walk out.
"You're always welcome to come with us!" I cheered, knowing he would never willingly go on a shopping excursion with me.
He turned his head back and declares, "You're crazy, Mia."
I giggled as Christian shut my door.
"What are you going to get my brother?" I asked excitedly when Ana and I arrived at the mall.
"I have no idea!" she huffed, "Any ideas?"
"Not a clue," I replied truthfully. If I was being honest, I had no fucking idea what my brother would like.
"Maybe a watch?" she suggested.
"Hmmm, we can go look at some. That could be a good idea. But now the more important question," I said with a grin, "What are you getting me?"
Ana laughed at me as we walked into Neiman's. "That's a secret," she quipped, and I smiled back at her.
Ana and I were browsing through the ready-to-wear at Neiman's, looking for dresses for the upcoming holiday parties.
"Christian invited you and your dad to Christmas Eve at my house, right?" I asked her.
"Yep," she replied, holding up a bright red skater dress. "What do you think?" she inquired.
"Is that Alexander McQueen?" I asked.
"Yes," Ana replied.
"I love it! Go try it on," I insisted.
Ana went into the dressing room and came out a few minutes later. Fuck! Why did she look amazing in everything?
"You look amazing!" I complimented her.
"Thanks, Mia! Do you think this is good for dinner at your house?"
"Perfect," I replied.
I saw Ana take a picture of herself from the mirror. "Sending that to my brother?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.
"How'd you know?" she laughed.
"Call it intuition," I smiled back.
Then, Ana declared, "Now it's your turn."
She went back to the racks of clothing, pulled a maroon fit and flare dress, and handed it to me.
"You'll look so good in this," she asserted.
Let's hope so!
After we both bought our dresses for Christmas dinner, we moved onto Christmas presents for friends and family.
"Does Christian even wear watches?" I asked Ana.
"Ummm, I think I've seen him wear them sometimes," she said unsure. "I really don't know what else to give him."
"I know what you can give him," I said, smirking.
"Ewww, Mia!" Ana cried, "That's your brother."
"Haha," I laughed, "You're right. So watch it is then."
Ana ended up getting Christian a Rolex watch. She better have gotten me one too. Kidding.
Anyways, I didn't know what to get Christian either. I ended up getting him another pair of his favorite Common Projects sneakers. It might not have been the most creative, but at least I knew he'd like them.
I got my mom a Louis Vuitton scarf and got my dad a Hermes tie. I also picked up a few things for my friends, while Ana did some more shopping for Christian just for fun. Apparently Christian needed to upgrade his fashion game. Ugh, my brother and Ana were so sickeningly cute.
I needed to find a boyfriend.
Christian's POV
"Hey, idiot," Elliot said from the other side of the phone.
"What's up, Elliot?" I asked, brushing his rudeness off.
I hadn't talked to him much since he went to college. We were never close as kids. I guess with my issues, I wasn't the best person to be around. I also used to be jealous of Elliot when we were both in high school. He was uber popular and the valedictorian of his class.
He was the golden child for Mom and Dad, and I was the problem. But I guess I wasn't the problem anymore. Ever since Ana came into my life, she had been changing me. Hopefully, my parents could be as proud of me as they were of Elliot.
Anyways, Elliot had called me a few times after he left for college, catching me up on his life. It was safe to say that Elliot was a huge manwhore now. And that was an understatement. The guy practically slept with a different girl every weekend. Whatever, let's just hope he didn't get some girl pregnant. Then he'd be the problem child.
As much as I could shit on Elliot, we were brothers. And I did love him, despite us not being as close as most brothers are.
"I'll be home tomorrow," Elliot stated.
"Yeah, I know," I replied, "Mom already told me."
"Do I get to meet Ana tomorrow?" he asked hopefully. "Who would've thought my little brother could get a girlfriend. I saw some pictures of her online bro, she's smoking hot."
My blood started to boil. Nobody, especially my brother should talk about her like that.
"Elliot," I said sternly, warning him.
"Jeez bro, chill," Elliot grumbled, "I'm not trying to fuck her if that's what you think."
"That's not what I fucking thought," I spit out.
"Okay, whatever," Elliot said, "Pick me up from the airport tomorrow. Bring Ana. I want to meet her."
"I don't think Ana wants to wake up early to see you," I declared.
"Well, I want to meet her," Elliot said like a petulant child.
"How about lunch tomorrow?" I asked.
"Sure," Elliot agreed, "Later bro."
After Elliot hung up the phone, I texted Ana.
Christian: I hope you're up for meeting Elliot tomorrow
Ana: Yay! When?
Christian: Late lunch? sushi?
Ana: Yes and yes. See you tomorrow, your sister is yelling at me to get off the phone. She knows I'm texting you. Love you!
Christian: Love you too xx
