Prolog:
I am a fourth year at Valley High School in District Fault of Seek City. It is said that a long time ago people had no special abilities, they survived from their own strength, but one day what seemed like a disease started to spread across our world. Instead of killing off, it gave new life to the people it infected. From then on the people of Earth have had abilities, some speed, others strength, fire, anything anyone could ever imagine. Although everyone was granted power, there is still inequality because some are granted more then others. The powerful are the ones who take control. Seek City is split up into districts, each governed by their strongest individual. Although most districts are ruled by one person, who is referred to as a "boss", my district, Fault district, along with its neighbors to the north and east, Kauru district and Lead district all call the same person boss. Though this individual holds incredible power (no one has even been able to hold 3 districts at once) they also have no want to take part in politics. Instead there is a set of governors who make rules and decide how our three districts are run. You may be asking yourself, are people from one district able to visit another district with a different boss? Yes, you are able to travel or even move where you please. Although our world may seem chaotic, there is a balance of power that is not always fair but does at the end of the day work out. One last thing I wish to explain is the dethroning of bosses. Anyone is allowed to try, here the most powerful becomes the leader, so if you think you can beat a boss then go ahead and try, but you'll most likely end up losing. There are turf wars on a regular basis, this means that either a boss, or cronies of a boss are sent out to fight off people who might be trying to threaten their turf. Although the bosses are the most powerful in their districts we also have many gangs that hold their own power. If a gang becomes too powerful or does not follow set out guidelines a boss may step in to stop them.
Chapter 1:
"Hey umm Lani?"
"Hmmm hmmmm, oh! Hi, sorry, yes? Is something wrong Takishi?"
"I just ummm you look pretty today and I… would you… WOULD YOU CONSIDER GOING AND GETTING BOBA TEA WITH ME AFTER SCHOOL TODAY.. maybe….." he spouts, his voice a bit shaky.
"You're so sweet Takishi that's so nice but me and Amauri already have plans after school today..."
"Well okay I… does Tuesday work?"
"Takishi she doesn't like you now back off." I say.
"Shut the hell up Amauri!" says Paki one of Takishi's friends, a stupid grin spreading accross his face "who do you even think you are?"
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY TO ME PAKI, SAY IT AGAIN!"
"I said ur a stupid low level who isn't worth shit so back off and stop putting your self into other people's business."
"YOU B……"
"It's okay Amauri, let it go. No, I'm sorry Takishi I don't want to hang out, you seem like a nice guy but your friends are real jerks…. Now please leave, class is about to start…"
"Little pricks… acting like they know me..."
Paki glares at me again from across the room, truthfully the only reason I haven't gotten the shit beat out of me yet is because of Lani, she's an upper level and the others both respect her and are pretty afraid of what she might do to them. Lani's black curls sway as she turns towards me
"I can handle them on my own, plus you shouldn't be mean to poor Takishi, he was only trying to be nice you know."
"How nice can he be if he hangs out with jerks like that?"
I roll me eyes at Paki, Takishi and their other friends, they glare back.
"Hey, I'm sorry they said those things about you, it wasn't cool of them" a frown pulls across her golden face.
"It's fine, they're just assholes."
"you know" She now grins, flashing white teeth, "I here Mori Senchi has a crush on you…" She deviously winks.
"Mori Senchi has a crush of half the school Lani, plus I don't care."
"Oh come on Amauri half the school has a crush on YOU, you should know that by now"
"BS Lani, plus it wouldn't matter anyway, no one likes a low level, and I would not care even if they did" I puff.
"What you lack in power you sure make up in charm don't you A?"
"Hey sorry, it's just that little encounter really put me in a shit mood"
She's not wrong, I think boys and girls do find my appearance attractive, but truthfully it's best used as a defense tactic. When I was younger I use to get beat up a lot for not being very powerful, the bullying went on for a long time and really got to my head, then one day I grew up I guess, got taller, prettier, I let my blue hair grow out instead of cutting it short like a boy, people started leaving me alone. I also met Lani when I started at Valley high and her protection helped.
Later that day
"Hey! Whaaaats up!"
"WAAAA, shit Lani you scared the crap out of me"
"WAIT DID I REALLY"
"YES"
"WOW, I've never been able to scare you before"
"Well you got me this time I guess hehehehe"
Ding, Ding, Ding
"Time to go to class I guesssss" says lani with a grimace
"Come on miss mopy schools important" I laugh.
Stupid Paki is still mad at me and glares at me and Lani as we walk in…. who does he even think he is?
"Ooop, looks like they're still mad I guess" says Lani trying to hold back a laugh as we take our seats near the middle of the classroom.
"Class, settle down I have an announcement to make"
"This is Rio Hijimae, He's a new student so everyone better treat him well!"
Rio Hijimae….. hmmm I wonder what type of powers he has...
"Waaaa don't you think he's kinda cute Amauri?"
His black hair was shiney… his blue eyes…. Like ice...
"Hey, why are you staring at me"
Shit! Was I staring?
"You were staring at me" Rio says while walking past my desk.
Wow his eyes are even more brilliant up close...
"HEY!"
"I WASN'T STARING AT YOU I DONT EVEN KNOW YOU"
"Phhhhhh sure you weren't" he says walking over to an empty seat in the back of the class.
"Amauri" Lani says looking at me with a huge grin,
"You were totally staring at himmm!"
"Shut up" I say blushing.
Who even was that stupid kid, to call me out infront of the class.. He must be powerful or something to have that much confidence.
As I walk home from school that night I keep hearing noises behind me, Although Fault is a lot safer than most of the districts, robberies and fights still often break out.
As the russiling starts to come closer I make a run for my building, I can feel my skin heating up.
