RtR: Hey peeps, I'm back. Kinda late, but-

Kai: Real late *eye roll*

RtR: Just shut up. I'm lazy, and quarantine's making me lazier. I left two books half read, didn't do the stupid homeworks, and you expect me to write. Delusional much?

Kai: Sloth much?

RtR: Why are you grumpy? Oh… yeah… I killed your girlfriend.

Kai: You're a true evil. Hater of love. That's why you're still single.

RtR: I'm an independent woman.

Kai: Yeah, right.

RtR: Whatever you say. But, I got a gift for you and all my readers. A spin off will be uploaded after this story, maybe sometime later. It will be KaiTory, and it will show their forbidden love story (of course) and something more which I can't reveal now. So follow me if you're eager to read a KaiTory.

Kai: About time I get some recognition.

RtR: You ungrateful brat, half this fic is about you.

Kai: Doesn't matter. And as a thank you, I'll say the disclaimer. Rock the Road doesn't own any character or the songs used in this fic. They belong to their rightful owners. But the plot and OCs are hers. Don't steal them.

RtR: Also thanks to Droplets of blue rain, Cutetyhil, TwilightUniverse018, anime-junkie23 and Scarlet Witch of Terra for reviewing last chapter.

Chapter- 11

"Are we any closer, Kenny?" Tyson spoke on his phone with the bey geek. Currently they were on a minivan that Tala found near the club, and jacked it. The geek on the phone was using his mad computer skills to find the current location of BioVolt.

"Just take a left, you'll find a huge rusty door. That's the entrance to BioVolt." His voice came out of the phone which was put on speaker for the ease of navigation.

Julia nodded and kept on driving according to the directions of Kenny. Sweat trickled down her as her nerves started kicking in. Never was she in a situation like this, but she had no time for her nervousness. She had to save her friends. Besides, the redhead on the passenger seat was doing a good job of letting his nerves to his head.

It was traumatising enough for him to think of hell-hole he grew up in, much less to actually to go there. He was continuously biting his nails and breathing deeply to calm himself.

I hear my battle symphony
All the world in front of me
If my armor breaks
I'll fuse it back together

The navy haired champion was the only one who didn't show any emotion at the moment. But inside him, his heart was beating so fast that his ribcage was in danger of breaking. An unsettling feeling fluttered in the pit of his stomach, and his mind was reeling up the worst scenarios of the situation. But his face was set at passive, though looking closely one could see his jaw ticking due to clenching of his teeth and eyes were glistening with the worry of his beloved fiancée.

Battle symphony
Please just don't give up on me
And my eyes are wide awake

Soon they reached the gate that Kenny was talking about. Julia stopped the car, "What to do now, Kenny?"

"You cannot enter through the door. But there is supposed to be a hole in the boundary walls. I think the walls must have developed cracks due to the earthquakes which later broke down. It's on the left side. But you must go carefully, the bushes are thick."

"Roger that, Kenny," Julia replied again, seeing the condition of the two boys. "Tala, Tyson, snap out of it. We need to think straight now." Hearing her determined voice both guys snapped out of the reverie.

After a lot of ouches and oofs, the trio reached the hole that Kenny was talking about. It's wasn't much big but big enough to crawl through. Discretely they crawled past with more scratches and bumps.

On the way to the building there were no guards, but that didn't seem to be the case of the building. It seemed sufficiently guarded.

"BioVolt was never supposed to have a permanent base in Japan, due to the country's size and inadequate secluded places. This is why there's only a single building in this makeshift base. Anyway, the point is, try to enter the building, and then it would be easy to find Hilary, Kai, and Angel."

"We need to distract them to enter in," Tala spoke up after a long time, surveying the area. He just knew what kind of security BioVolt ever had. After all he did sneak out of much more tight security with his friends before.

He started to look around and came up with a cliché but an effective idea. The redhead grabbed a stone threw it towards the bushes on the other side. This created a shuffle, grabbing the attention of the guards.

While the guards looked for any intruder, the trio here sneakily entered the building. "Kenny, we're inside the building."

"Yeah, I saw that Tyson. From here I suspect only two places where Boris would keep his captives. Either the laboratory or the cell room thingy I can see on the screen."

"What to do now?" Tala spoke out his query, all the while looking around for any guards. They kept walking quietly until they reached the stairwell.

"Should we split up or?" Julia looked at the two boys for a response.

"Wait a minute, there's a movable wall kinda something in the cell room. To be safe, you guys should enter from both sides. It's on the first floor, which has only one room and its two doors." Kenny informed them. Tyson nodded but realised he couldn't see him, "Got it."

Something has been taken
From deep inside of me
A secret I've kept locked away
No one can ever see
Wounds so deep they never show
They never go away
Like moving pictures in my head
For years and years they've played

Kai's hanging figure was slumped in grief. He became irresponsive to everything after hearing the words, "She died…" He couldn't believe his bad luck. He thought that whoever wrote his destiny somehow forgot happiness to include it in. Whenever he thought his life was going on in a good path, a wrong turn would interfere in and then… BOOM, everything would suddenly come tumbling down.

His parents died when he was two. His grandfather turned out to be a selfish, power-hungry, controlling maniac. His half-brother died in a fire, just after he found out that the Spaniard was related to him. His beloved was experimented upon and died in the end. His daughter, the product of his young frenzy hormones, was supposedly being turned into a weapon.

Hilary's ruby eyes filled with tears seeing the defeated man beside her. Her heart was aching for the kid she adopted just some months ago, but Kai lost his lover and biological daughter in a span of an hour. Not technically, yet the it was news to him. She didn't know how to comfort him, or what to say to him.

Lover… Her thoughts drifted to the navy haired blader who proposed her a few hours ago. 'Tyson, I hope you're okay. We will meet soon, wait for me. Or find me yourself…' She broke into sobs.

She wasn't ready for all this. She wasn't ready to adopt a daughter. She wasn't ready to get separated from the love of her life. She wasn't ready to be kicked out by her mother. She wasn't ready to die in the hands of a daughter-murdering, student-torturing, lewd, and blood-thirsty psychopath.

Couldn't her life be simple? You know the normal life that people lead. College, job, marriage, kids, and a 'happily ever after'.

BANG!

She looked up to see the doors on both sides opened. Standing there were her hopes.

I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow

Tala rushed towards the main office on the fifth floor, ignoring the pleas of his friends stopping him.

As he reached the fifth floor, he started searching around until he reached the door which said 'Boris Balkov'. Tala sneered at the nameplate and sneakily opened the door.

Probably luck was on his side because Boris was sitting with his back to the door. In his hand was a tablet that controlled the functions of the lab room.

Tala lifted his hand and hit the purple-head at the exact point on the side of his neck which made him unconscious. His head lolled to the other side and Tala smirked viciously at the scene.

"Finally." He spoke out, the malicious grin evident in his voice. He kicked the passed out man out of the chair to the floor.

Picking up the tablet, he said one thing and then was out of the room.

"Sayonara, Boris."

He went through the tablet, searching for the lab room. He knew that Angel was there the moment he read the title of the page, 'Operation: Bioweapon Child'

"Hilary!" Tyson rushed to his beloved and hugged her tightly despite the chains.

Hilary, still shocked, tried to lean into the hugs, due to her chained hands, "Tyson." She sobbed into his shoulder, "I was so scared."

Feeling her tears wetting his shirt, he moved back a bit. The navy haired champ cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs wiping the tears.

"Hey, I'm here now. It's going to be alright." Hilary nodded at his words, and leaned in to press a chaste kiss on his lips.

When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind

Meanwhile Julia tentatively walked to Kai, whose head was still hanging in grief. "Kai…" Hearing the soft voice of his half-sister, the guy looked up. A small smile of hope lit on his lips. He realised he still had his sister. Maybe hope wasn't lost yet.

Julia couldn't control her emotions anymore, and hugged Kai without any warning. Kai, of course, was taken back. "I know that we're related." She pulled back, her tears falling freely at his state.

"I knew that wolf couldn't keep a secret." He grumbled under his breath. "I'm sorry for not telling you earlier," He said to Julia.

"It's okay, I understand tha-" She was abruptly cut off mid-sentence as Kai's chains suddenly clicked off, freeing him. He looked at Hilary, who was rubbing her free wrists.

"What the-?" The brunette spoke out her confusion.

Before anyone could comprehend, the alarms started blaring off through the rusty building. Tala entered the room just after with an unconscious Angel in his arms.

"We need to get out of here fast." His voice was rushed, his chest moving up and down to catch breath.

Hilary's eyes widened seeing her daughter, and she ran to Tala. "Oh Angel," She spoke as she took the kid in her arms. "Mamma's here now. She'll not let anything happen to you." She kissed her all over her face in the relief of getting her safe.

"We should get out before anyone comes here." And with Tyson's words, the gang started to run towards the entrance.

"Whatever happened to Boris, Tala?" Kai asked his ex-captain as he ran side by him.

"Knocked him out." He grinned evilly, and fist bumped Tyson at his, "Awesome, dude."

But before they could make out of the building, a gunshot echoed. Their steps halted and a scream ensued.

But nobody can save me now
I'm holding up a light
Chasing up the darkness inside
'Cause nobody can save me
