Welcome, to this short little experiment that I came up for a small idea.
I really don't know what came over me with this idea, but I'll leave this fic for you all to judge.
Disclaimer: I do not own Transformers.
"You know this was a waste of time. And to think, there was a Decepticon activity reported on here."
"Let's just make it back to the rendezvous point for extraction then we can report this false activity."
"Like pit we can easily make it back in time for pick up."
Walking along with the Autobot femme commander was Ironhide who not only complained but was also pissed after their arrival only to to the disappointment of a false intelligence report regarding a Decepticon activity.
Elita on the other only turned her helm up at the weapons specialist with a slightly irritated expression before giving a reply.
"Let's just hurry to the rendezvous point-"
"Let's just wait this out."
"And why? Don't tell me, you're starting to have a hard time catching up with me?"
Ironhide shortly glared at her before folding his massive arms on his chassis.
"It's raining. I don't want to get wet."
Elita suddenly snorted by the time Ironhide finished in response.
"That's what you're on about? You don't want to get wet?"
"Just stop it, and so what if I don't want to get wet? My platings will rust-"
Elita snorted before rolling her optics, but as she was about to transform into her motorcycle mode, Ironhide suddenly grabbed her by her fragile bipedal fee before pocking her up and securing her in his massive arms.
"Ironhide!? Put me down!"
Though, her struggles to break free from his arms failed, Ironhide only ignored her shouts of protests as well as the small heavy taps of rain drops as he brought her inside a nearby abandoned building or shelter from the now heavy rain.
Setting her down, Ironhide glanced proceed through a small window to see the rain continually dropping before turning his attention back to Elita who was glaring at him with her arms folded.
"Sorry. Buy I'm not taking the risk taking the trip to the rendezvous point while it's raining."
"And you're worried about that all because you're worrying about rusting!?"
The sight of Elita being like his made Ironhide frown, but on the other, he felt amused. It reminded him of Chromia. But for shame, because of the war ongoing, what they had for each other didn't worked out eventually. He could probably tell that Elita was feeling the same that he sometimes feel since Optimus ended what they had within each other before going after the Allspark. But, it's not that he was expecting anything while this was going on, even though he was feeling a bit lonely, he only wanted to avoid getting wet from the rain.
Focusing his optics down to Elita who turned away from him, Ironhide slowly bent down to her level before speaking.
"I'm sorry. Alright? I just don't want to risking driving out in the rain, that's all."
That seemed to gain her attention as she turns back at him, Ironhide met a frown on Elita's face plate.
"This is a waste of time."
Ironhide only chuckled at the bitter reply. She was right, though. But with him not taking a risk to venture out and drive in the rain with her, perhaps taking the time on this abandoned building while waiting out the rain to finish wouldn't be a bad idea for him mostly.
"You think this is amusing? It's not!"
Ironhide gently raised a calming servo at her before giving a slow reply.
"You need a break. You only that?"
He didn't gotta reply after what he said, and to see Elita just starting at him in surprise, completely off guard, Ironhide took the advantage just to finally stop her form complaining and heading back outside.
"I know this is a waste of time for you, bit come on, Elita. Hear me out for once. You need a break, at least a short little break. You've been, where do I start... Taking missions too seriously? Being a hothead at times, and also? You've forgotten to take some time to at least enjoy a bit of free time."
There was a long pause, but to see Elita givings reluctant stare up at him, Ironhide heard her reply.
"Perhaps, I can take a short break... But that doesn't excuse this waste of time."
"I thought you'd say that. I can't blame you, I ut don't you want some time away to have some time for yourself at least?"
"I honestly don't find any reason to do so. Plus, we're not allowed to wander off."
Ironhide only gave a simple lazy shrug before giving a reply.
"Well, you can take this time now to take a break. The rain doesn't look like it'll stop anytime soon, and I'm not looking forward getting wet more by going back out there."
He paused, and to see Elita shortly watching the rain outside, he only stared at her for a short moment before adding.
"Does it look like it's going to stop?"
To see Elita turning back to him with a small frown, he got a reply.
"Softly really have to be sarcastic you aft?"
Ironhide only chuckled before giving a shrug.
"Eh. But I'd say we wait it out. It probably wouldn't be long."
"Then I suppose I'll waste time with you then. But I'm not reporting to Optimus once we get back after this delay."
Ironhide snorted before folding his arms.
"And you expect me to do it?"
He wanted a short glare after what he said.
"This was your idea."
"But then again, you agreed. And you don't seem to be objecting either on purpose."
Ironhide countered with a shrug, but to see Elita staring at him a bit surprised, he gave her a confused look for a second before asking.
"What?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all."
He frowned but didn't press on.
"Fine. But if you don't mind, I'll be over there to get a short recharge. I could use some too while this rain is still going."
He simply said before turning away and was about to walk over to a corner for some recharge only to hear Elita suddenly interrupting.
"I, do honestly want some time away. I mean, yes I really do but, I just couldn't find the time to do so. I could use some time..."
Ironhide stopped, and turning his attention back to Elita, he slowly made his approach back to her with a curious expression.
"Everything alright?"
He slowly asked. But seeing a visible frown on Elita's face plate, Ironhide also noticed a reluctant look into the mix.
"Fine. Fine, fine. I won't push it-"
"No, it's fine. I wouldn't mind the question."
Raising an optic ridge at he only stars down at her, Ironhide watched as Elita reluctantly continued.
"I could use some time away from the others, I mean, don't you ever get a bit tired on the same old things that we do with them?"
"What, too mean fighting? Well, no I don't."
"For you, perhaps maybe you even enjoy it, but that's not the point."
Ironhide stared at her for moment before slowly giving a replying question.
"It's about Optimus. Is it?"
He wanted a glare for a long moment of silence. Ironhide frowned shortly, but then giving a slow reply, he began.
"You don't have to think about that. Wasn't that long ago now? It's been a millennia. And we got things that need more thinking of than the past."
"And that's what you did ever since it didn't worked out with you and Chromia?"
Ironhide wanted to glare at her, but as much as he hated to admit it, she was right. Venting shortly, he gave a slow, hesitant reply.
"Yeah. That's actually what I did, and you can say that I'd you want, I don't care. But so long as I don't get affected anymore, I'm fine."
"Even if she's with us back at the base?"
Ironhide stared at her for a long moment, then gave a slow shrug.
"Probably."
"Probably?"
"What? Well, it's fine now. What about you?"
"What about me?"
Ironhide frowned shortly before replying.
"Are you doing okay now? I mean, Optimus is still leading us so... How are you feeling?"
He was expecting a glare of at least a frown bit to see Elita folding her arms and looming down shortly, he got a slow response.
"Honestly? It's fine. I mean, were doing okay in cooperation, especially during missions, but that's that."
Ironhide tilted his helm afterwards.
"Really. That's just that, Ironhide. And I prefer it be that way. Wait... Are you trying to...?"
"I'm not intending to, Elita. I mean, it's good to know that you two are in good condition, and talking normally."
"And why does it sound like you're not glad?"
Ironhide folded his arms a bit firmly on his chassis.
"Don't blame me for noticing you sometimes being being quiet on your own."
"And you have a problem with that?"
"What? No! What I'm trying to say is that, maybe you should try to talk about it to someone else at east. It doesn't have to be Optimus obviously. That's all."
He wanted a glare from Elita but before she could even say a word in reply, Ironhide emmidiately added.
"Just want you to know, I care. Alright?"
With Elita staring at him for a long moment, Ironhide couldn't think of what she will say.
"I can understand that, Ironhide. I honestly appreciate it, but I didn't expected you'd actually say it..."
"Hey, you can say whatever you want, but I'll have you know, that I care for you too."
"You care for me huh?"
"I mean I cade for you and the others, don't even mistaken my words."
There was a pause for a long moment, but with Elita snorting Ironhide heard her reply.
"You flatter me with that 'I care for you' thing."
"Don't push it."
Elita snorted even more.
"Let me guess, you're taking this chance as well, to get away from Chromia?"
Ironhide nearly glared at her, but for some reason, it made him think. Maybe she's right? Or maybe he just really doesn't want to risk being g out in the rain? But for whatever is it as he wondered in thought, he noticed Elita's slowly approaching before recieving a grin from her.
"Well... I'll take that as a yes."
"W- Wait... That's not I was intending. I wasn't expecting anything ether-"
"Say whatever you want, but I could care less..."
Ironhide flared at her but to see Elita slowly inching herself towards him.
"What are you thinking, Elita?"
"I ask you the same thing, Ironhide. We're both here on our own, waiting for the rain to stop, and here you are, staring down at me."
Ironhide glared at her, but bending down to her level, he gave a hardened reply.
"I am not intending anything. If that's what you're going to imply."
"I wasn't implying anything... But, I am intending to do this."
Ironhide stared at her confused only to be caught off guard by the time Elita gently planted a kiss on his lips. He emmidiately leaned back and glared at her.
"The frag was that for femme!?"
With Elita simply rolling her optics, he got a reply.
"What, can't I thank you for convincing me to take some time away from everyone else?"
"That wasn't necessary! Especially what you did!"
"Oh, stop playing hard to get. You know you'll want it too while there's still some time-"
"Hey, I'll have you know personally that I'm not that looks of mech that you think!"
"I could only wonder... How Chromia managed to deal with that attitude of yours..."
"This isn't about who, or anyone it's about what you did! Primus sake, Elita I just told you that I care then you took it far!"
"Then again, you mean it. So what's wrong if I'll return you a favor?"
"Don't. Test. Me. Femme. Or else."
Ironhide warned with a growl, but to see Elita simply laughing, he stared at her confused and began to question.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing... I honestly didn't expect you'd overreact to a simple kiss on the lips. But not else to huh? Or else what? You'll kiss me back?"
Elita's teasing reply made Ironhide growl even more as he glared at her, but no. He wasn't going to hurt her, and that's not in his nature to attack felon Autobots, but knowing he salted screwed up by saying that he cares for her, perhaps, he might as well get her back.
Ironhide glared down at Elita once more and warned.
"I'm warning you to stop now, Elita."
"Hmm... Or what? What are you going to do about it?"
With Elita's teasing reply and her smugly smirk wore on, Ironhide leaned forward onto her, pressing his solid lips roughly onto Elita's until he finally pinned her down. He nearly regretted it by the time he didn't felt Elita not pulling away, but he indeed regretted it in Primus' name by the time he felt her kiss back.
Ironhide emmidiately pulled back. And as speechless as Elita is now, he noticed the rain outside had finally stopped, the bright light from the sun above was coming into view and through the small windows from outside.
"I guess the rain has stopped... We can get back to the rendezvous now... Come on."
Ironhide suddenly said, almost a bit harshly, bit as he was about to stand up, he felt Elita's servos holding onto his. Damn, what had he gotten himself into this time...?
"I uh... Didn't expected you'd actually do that... But... I want you to know that I don't mind at all. Okay?"
To hear this out of Elita's soft, gentle tone, Ironhide shortly glared down at her.
"Not a word to anyone, Elita."
"Does that matter now?"
Ironhide stared at her, obviously caught off guard by what she said. He didn't said a word to Elita in response, so instead, he heard her continue.
"Fine. But... I'm not reporting to Optimus once we get back."
Ironhide frowned but nodded either way to end the conversation.
As they both walked back outside the empty building, he suddenly took a glanxe down at Elita.
"If I'll report to Prime, that's fine by me. But I'm getting you back for this once I'm done with him."
He heard Elita snorting shortly before coming a reply.
"Go on and try. If you can get access to my quarters."
Ironhide glared at her and simply replied.
"I hate you."
And with that, he transformed into his GMC pickup vehicle mode only to hear Elita's response through a private comm.
"I thought you'd say that. But I know you care. I care for you, too. Especially now..."
Ironhide didn't replied afterwards, and instead drove off with Elita. But to think of it as he drove with her in silence, what has he gotten himself into? Though, even if the others, Optimus or even Chromia wouldn't mind if they find out, he didn't really cared. Except for that fact that he might fall again like he once did, which was the risk he took during a war with the Decepticons.
But noticing Elita's motorcycle mode closely driving next to his truck mode, could've sworn he noticed her holoform glancing at him with a hidden smile while driving.
Ironhide warned to chuckle, but not to act that way, he only drive with her in silence. But in his thoughts; maybe it wouldn't hurt after all if he'll try it out to fall again.
And so on, that's the one-shot experiment. And no. This isn't anything seriously taken but just a minor experiment for the fun of making it, while it is also a good chance to take the opportunity to make this as I have yet seen any Ironhide/Elita One fic.
But anyways, thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed this little crazy experiment I brought upon.
ripntear.
