Hi guys! This is my first fanfic so hopefully all goes well! I came up with this story while I was just chilling in bed. This story takes place after the events of HeartGold and SoulSilver and before Diamond and Pearl! Anyway enough of my rambling and I hope you enjoy!
Everyone was wondering what Professor Oak had in store for them. He had gathered all those who had the honor of owning a Pokédex. It was an honor to be chosen to own one, but that is not to say it was all smooth sailing. Each one has faced the greatest of adversities in their own right. The world had to be thankful for those teenagers.
"Alright is everyone here?" asked the great professor
"I hope so, we have been waiting here for so long"
The raven-haired boy with eyes that reflect his name was running out of patience. Staying in one place for so long has never been something he has enjoyed. Fidgeting with his red sweatshirt and the yellow goggles on his head had gotten boring.
"Gold, it has only been 10 minutes can you please be at least a little bit more patient?" Said the girl who hailed from the same region as the boy.
"Everyone is here Gramps"
Green was tired hearing the New-Bark native complain.
"Okay great. I have big news which is why I gathered everyone here today"
The professor turned his back and grabbed a new gadget.
"I have a new update for everyone's Pokédex!"
The professor received mixed emotions from everyone. Some such as Yellow and Crystal were ecstatic upon hearing the news. Others, such as Gold and well, Gold, were not too excited.
"Man, this better be an amazing update," said the impatient boy.
"It is. This new update will allow everyone to able to locate one and another no matter the distance! Because you youngsters like to get into trouble, I thought that this would be a great way to make sure you guys keep each other in check!"
"What if I don't want people knowing where I am? I don't want to make myself more susceptible to Blue's shopping adventures"
"Gold, you can't pretend like you don't love them"
"Funny you think I'm pretending"
The professor was running out of patience for the New-Bark native.
"Well, I made it so you can turn it off because of privacy reasons so don't worry"
Now that the announcement was done, the professor took all the Pokédexes and began to update them
"While I update these, please help yourselves to lunch. It's the least I can do in return for saving the world!"
With that, everyone went to eat their brunch. Well, almost everyone. One missing piece from the Kanto gang went outside to the balcony. The young girl's blond hair waved through the wind as her thoughts overtook her. Being with all these people often overwhelmed Yellow. As she looked out into the landscape of Pallet Town, the thoughts which so often consumed her returned.
"There are so many amazing people here who have done so many amazing things. You would never expect that the 9 people in that room have saved the world various times. They are all incredible. No wonder Professor Oak had entrusted them with a Pokedex and not me," thought Yellow.
Yes, it was true, Professor Oak had to given Yellow a Pokedex directly. It was given to her by Red when she was fast asleep in his arms right before their petrification.
They only gave me these Pokedex out of pity. They felt like they had to give to me. I'm so weak. I'm the weaker one here. I haven't gotten any badges or won anything. I'm worthless.
These thoughts consumed Yellow, she didn't even notice that a certain red-eyed boy walked up behind her.
"Hey there, why aren't you inside with the other? The food is unreal you should try some"
Yellow lifted her head slightly.
"Oh, I'm just thinking. I didn't think that anyone would notice that I was gone"
"Of course we would notice that you were gone. Also here's your newly updated Pokedex"
Red handed Yellow her Pokedex which he put away.
"Oh… great"
Red noticed how the usually bright girl was now dim.
"Hey, is something wrong?"
Yellow hadn't turned to face him, she just kept staring out into the landscape.
"No, nothing is wrong"
Red knew that Yellow was lying. Truth be told, the girl has a special place in Red's heart. The way that she was so caring and determined despite the doubt that she constantly faces.
"Yellow, don't lie to me. I know something is wrong. You know I'm always here for you"
A couple of seconds of silence followed. Yellow knew that there was no way he would leave her alone unless she told him the truth. She turned to face him but looked down towards the ground.
"I just… I don't understand why I even have a Pokedex! I look in that room and see people who are beyond my level. The way that they are so courageous and do anything for Pokemon is something I could never do. I don't deserve to be here. I'm just so weak and…"
"Stop that"
Red had had enough. He couldn't take the girl he loved belittle herself so much.
"You are more than enough. Don't let anyone, including yourself, tell you otherwise. You went out of ur way to save me! You fought so bravely against Lance! Against Deoxys, you were with me until the end. You have stepped up on multiple occasions and have come out on top. Truthfully without you, I don't know if we would have been able to do everything we have done"
Yellow was speechless. She looked up and saw Red's eyes. Even though she saw that he truly met everything he said, she still didn't believe it.
"Red I…"
Then, she was gone.
A metal arm had grabbed her and taken her away from the research building
"YELLOW" screamed Red.
"RED HELP"
Red was in a frantic. A couple of seconds ago, Yellow was standing before her and now she was gone, being taken away by a place with a familiar R symbol.
"I'LL SAVE YOU"
With that Red ran back inside. Everyone was sitting and laughing, not even aware that one of their own had just been taken away from them.
"GUYS! IT'S YELLOW… SHE'S…"
"Red calm down, what happened to Yellow?" Said the other Pallet-native boy.
"SHE WAS TAKEN AWAY BY TEAM ROCKET"
Everyone gasped. No one knew what to say.
Silver stepped up.
"Red, take a breath and tell us what happened"
Red took a deep breath and began telling the group what happened. Many were shocked to hear what Yellow was saying during their conversation.
"We have to find her." Said Blue. Her best friend was just taken away. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do to get her back.
"Red, you said she had her Pokedex on her. So we can track her and see where she is" said Silver.
"Thank goodness for the update," said Gold. He received a slight slap on the back of his head from Crystal.
"She's flying right now, looks as though she is heading towards the Sinnoh region," exclaimed Green.
"Well we don't have time to waste, does everyone have a flying type they can use to get there?" Said Sapphire.
Even though not everyone had one, the holders were able to make accommodations so everyone had a way of making the trip.
Red hadn't said a word after he finished explaining what happened. He was mad. Mad at himself, for not being able to save Yellow. He could have easily done it. Now all the was on his mind was saving the girl who had taken a part of his heart.
"Don't worry Yellow, I'm coming".
