Look who's finally posting the update they've had written for months. Hope this is as good as you wanted.
"Booth. We need to talk." That was the first thing he heard when he picked up the phone. Booth leant back in the chair and looked around his office, slightly confused. "Um, okay." He said and sat up. There was silence for a few moments from the other end of the line.
"Do you think you can over to the lab?" She asked and now Booth was confused, what was going on.
"I've got some paperwork to finish, but I'm sure I can stop by on my way home." He said and there was a sigh of relief out of her.
"Okay. Thanks." She says and hangs up quickly. Booth stares down at his phone for a few moments, before shaking his head and going back to his paperwork. There's something going on and it was bothering him.
A few hours later and he walks through the glass doors. "Hey Booth." Angela says walking past him as he makes his way to Brennan's office. She's got a weird smile on her face and Booth is becoming more and more curious about this meeting. He knocks on the open door to Brennan's office and she looks up from the computer to him and her eyes widen and she visibly swallows, worrying Booth. "Hi." She says standing up slowly. Booth steps into the office and walks into the middle of the room. She goes and shuts the door, before slowly sitting down on the sofa. He watches her wring her hands for a few seconds, before sitting down as well.
"What's going on Bones?" He asks and she looks at him briefly and then looks down at her hands, biting her lip nervously. That really worried him. She didn't get nervous, not with him, they were close, really close.
"There's something I need to tell you." She says nervously and Booth can see her fear spiking. "What is it?" He asks, worried, taking one of her hands in his and squeezing gently. She's silent and he wants to ask her again, when he sees her close her eyes and take a few calming breaths.
"I'm pregnant." She says bluntly and his brain freezes for a moment as he processes what she just says. "Before you ask, yes, it's yours, I'm positive of that." She says flatly and watches him from the corner of her eye as he tries to take in what she just told him. "Wait, so that night." He starts and she nods her head. "It would seem so." She says softly and Booth stands up and runs his hands through his hair and takes a few deep breaths.
"Okay." He says aloud, not actually speaking to her. "Booth." She says nervously, not sure what his reaction means for her. "Okay." He says again and turns to look at her and his face is hiding all emotion. "Right okay. I've got to go." He says quickly as he heads towards the door, opening it quickly and then turning to her and taking in the terrified, slightly upset look in her eyes. He steps back towards her and cups her cheek.
"I'll call you. I have something I've got to do." He says and practically runs from the room after placing a kis to her brow. He's got to make everything right in his life and he can't go and leave the women he's in love with, to raise his child alone, just because he's got a love affair with a hot accountant. He's got a chance at everything he wants and he's going to take it in both hands.
