Is this what they did in the normal hunger games? We are in the presidential palace, in the back rooms. They have us seperated off in twos. I'm with a girl from the southern capital

"I'm Clary", she sighs,weeping silently. I hug her and she hugs me back, even though we've never met before. She probably knows who I am, though and I wish we had been friends before. I think about my life, short but sweet. I was born on the 12 october 2074 and i am 15 years old. I have no siblings and my parents both died in the capitol bombing 10 years ago. I have been brought up by my grandparents ever since.

Nathan

I think i'm gonna be OK for now. All I have to do is find Alyssa as soon as possible and try and make some friends. If we can get as many friends as possible, we could survive for longer, make people like us. But we will need a nice mentor. There's a crackling overhead and it takes me a second to realise that its a speaker

"This is a short announcement about a small change to the groupings. Due to the nature of these games, you will be permitted to choose who you are partnered with. 1 rule, you must be with someone of the opposite gender".

I say bye to the girl I was in the room with and she protests slightly. She must have liked me.

I walk out the door and ask the guard where Alyssa is. He says she's in the room at the end of the corridor. I run for the door and it opens just as I reach it. A crying girl walks out. She says

"Good luck". I reply with a smile. I walk in the door and I find Alyssa. She sat on a plush couch and stood up when she saw me. She runs to me and i embrace her warm body and hold her like she could disappear any second

Haymitch

They are assigning us to our rooms to find out who we are mentoring. We queue up in front of Plutarch and he tells people their room number. When he finally gets to me, he slaps me on the back and says "Haymitch, good to see you!"

"Hello Plutarch.'' I will always remember him as the man who took my alcohol.

"room 1 for you my friend. Good luck"

I walk down the corridor, not far since I'm in room 1. I open the door and see two kids. About 15, a girl and a boy, they are sitting practically on top of each other. More star-crossed lovers, just what i need. Oh well, i can work with this. I brought two kids out of the hunger games after all.

"So. names" i bark.

"Nathan and Alyssa."

"Any special skills?"

The boy speaks next

"i can survive in a forest for a month"
