Hey! Sorry I've been a bit inactive lately, and I've got a few multi chaps to update. I've just been busy with online school and crap, it's pretty stressful. Anyway, here's a one shot for you to enjoy, it deals with depression so, you have been warned, it might be pretty sad.
A lonely figure was slowly ambling down the dark street. The wind had picked up ever since she had left Carly's, and it was making it hard to walk, with the blustering wind almost knocking her over. She looked up, to see autumn leaves being completely blown away in the cool air. She shivered, and thought of how these leaves were almost mocking her. She wished all of her problems could just be swept away like the leaves in the wind. She wished her forced smiles and laughter were real. She wished somebody could help her.
They couldn't though.
Sam would never let anyone know, they would think her weak. They would think her stupid. No, it was better to push her emotions to the back of her brain, until she could really be alone.
She wished it would rain. The rain was cool and refreshing, and nobody could see her cry when it rained. She had decided that it was best to cry when it was raining, or when she was alone in her room. It was also an advantage to her when her mother was away. Not that she ever noticed, or thought something was up. Her sadness was getting to be overwhelming at this point, and there was a lump in her throat, and tears were stinging in her eyes.
She wished there was somewhere, anywhere that she could escape her own mind.
Deciding that it was time for a smoothie, not that she was hungry, Sam Puckett had not been hungry for about 7 months now. She only ate when she was in front of people, so they wouldn't suspect anything. The fact that she managed to convince everyone that she was the Sam that was always hungry, addicted to food Puckett, was almost funny. She let out a half hearted snicker, which made a few tears she had been holding back tumble down her face. Hurriedly scratching them off, she entered the bright groovy smoothie.
She was lost, drowning in her own thoughts, she didn't even know where she was walking.
Until she heard him.
"Hey, Sam."
Freddie.
She spun around on her heels, and spotted him, sitting alone at a table. No, this was supposed to be an alone place, she didn't need any more confusion added into her already overwhelming thoughts. Basically, she didn't need the boy whom she still loved, painfully. Thunder rolled, and rain started tumbling down.
"Oh um, you know what, I got to go, so um, I'll catch you later Freddie."
Very smooth. You even called him by his real name, what a stupid idiot. She thought.
She ran out, almost tripping over a table. As the door swung closed, she let out a huge dry sob, tears flowing freely down her face with the freezing rain.
A searing pain crossed her chest, causing her to stumble in her escape.
She only wished she could be happy again...
As soon as this happened, Freddie got up, threw his smoothie in the bin and threw a quick thank you to T-Bo over his shoulder. He had been having suspicions about the girl for a while now, the changes in her behaviour that she thought were so subtle and the thing is they were, nobody else noticed, but Freddie just couldn't help noticing everything about her.
As he walked briskly out of the bright shop into the dark, wind blowing at his hair and rain softly landing on his eyelashes, he decided on the best approach, spotting the shivering girl slowly making her way in the direction of her house she walked as if she was in pain, and Freddie's heart ached for her.
He caught up with her pretty quickly.
"Oh hey Sam!" Very smooth, he thought.
"What!" She snapped, looking up to meet his eyes.
"Well, I saw you walking down this way and I thought I'd join you." Wait, was she crying? It was hard to tell with the rain and the surrounding darkness, but he was pretty sure she was, yes, the tears were flowing freely.
"Well, leave."
Freddie was pretty sure that it was meant to come out threateningly, but it came out more of a broken whisper, carried away with the wind.
"Are you sure?" He tried again. "I can walk you home?"
"FREDDIE, JUST LEAVE. Please," she whispered the last part, but pushed him in the direction of Bushwell Plaza.
He stumbled back a few feet, and then turned as if he was walking home.
Sam immediately felt bad, why did she have to be so mean? He was only trying to walk her home. No wonder nobody liked her. Wrapping her arms around herself, she stumbled on in the blustering wind.
Of course Freddie was not going to give up so easily. He went back to Bushwell and ripped off his soaking clothes. Shivering, he stepped into the shower. Out after two minutes with clean dry clothes on, he pulled on a waterproof coat and ran down the stairs, past a screaming Lewbert, and into the rain that was heavier than ever.
He soon arrived at his destination. Her mom was probably drunk, so he slipped in through the front door. Sure enough, her mom could be seen sprawled on the cramped sofa, empty bottles strewn across the room.
Freddie was suddenly hit with a great hatred for this woman. She didn't even care about her own daughter. He felt an urge to slap some sense into her, but even he knew that he would end up more injured than the doctor could help. Shaking with anger, he climbed the creaky stairs leading to Sam's room. The sound of a sobbing girl assured him that Sam had made it home. As he listened to it, the pain in her cries caused a stab in his chest. It was around the heart area, and he was sure he had been stabbed in the heart. He still loved her.
Freddie came to the conclusion that it would be best to enter the room, hopefully unseen.
Opening the door, as quietly as the old furniture would let him, he poked his head around the door. Cautiously entering, he closed it behind him. He looked to where he knew the bed was, and saw a heartbreaking sight. Sam was laid on her bed, knees curled up towards her chest, clutching it as if in pain, as sob after sob ripped from her fragile body and tears stained her twisted, again as if in pain, face.
He cautiously stepped over to her shaking body, alarmed at the sheer volume and emotion of her sobs. He gently touched her arm. Sam opened her eyes, and a deep growl escaped her. She screeched, jumping up.
"FREDDIE. GET. OUT."
Freddie simply shook his head, only angering Sam more. "I'm here to help you," he explained, admittedly a little scared, but he stood his ground nonetheless.
"I DON'T NEED HELP! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I NEED HELP!" She started pummelling his chest, the sobbing still continuing. "FREDDIE JUST LEAVE!"
The hitting continued, Sam punching as hard as she could anywhere she could reach. Freddie just stood his ground, wincing a little. Before he had just been letting Sam think she was hurting him, but this was her full, unguarded wrath.
Eventually, with a last punch, she screamed "I HATE YOU!" and started loudly sobbing again. She just stood there, but Freddie came forward and wrapped her into a hug. She half heartedly tried to wriggle away, but found she couldn't escape Freddie's strong embrace, and she found she wanted it. She had missed it so much, and eventually relaxed against him, breathing in his sweet scent. Loud, gut wrenching sobs were still escaping from her, but Freddie just pulled her over to the bed, and for once, Sam had comfort while she cried herself into a restless sleep.
Freddie knew she had a long way to go. This was just the start. He also knew, that he was not going to rest until this poor girl found happiness again.
So that's it. I thought this was going to be a one shot but I might make it a two or three shot. I don't know yet, I've still got a few multis to finish. Let me know what you want in the reviews.
