A light in the distance appeared in his dreams, a vast realm of nothingness engulfed his senses, he was falling slowly to the depths and with that his body felt cold and he could only see hundreds of glowing eyes fixed in him, they were coming for him.
The admiral opened his eyes slowly gazing into the ceiling, he was still tired from last night but could not feel that anxiety from before as all that exercise helped ease his mind. Even if it took him a few minutes to recover, he felt quite better, so he prepared for that new day as usual.
Just as he was about to leave early, he heard again someone outside his room, but the sound disappears quite fast so he couldn't confirm what happened there this time.
-Good morning- He tells the girl outside, he knew she will be there, but couldn't help believing it was someone else.
-Admiral, thanks for your hard work, Kashima here. Let's do our best again today. I am counting on you- the silver haired girl received the man with a warm welcome –I have your schedule ready and we can start as soon as possible - she was happier that day for some reason, mostly because she finally felt in control and that made her life easier.
-Yes I'm ready, we can go- he fake a smile again, it was not that hard now, as he realized that his supervisor was also wearing a mask covering her true self every day.
Both start the familiar path to the main building, he didn't start any conversation and by his own would hardly try, but it was Kashima that started to talk.
-Say Admiral, what do you think now of the new recruits, aren't they pretty?- she was curious of what the man could think about the new little girls in the base.
-Eh!?- he suddenly remember the scene that almost destroyed his sanity –Sure they are…- He answers quickly trying not to sound concerned or anything that could appear suspicious.
-I know right! I will take them with me again today so I can teach them how to move around the base surroundings, hehehe~- she was always happy to share her thoughts and ideas of training. The base was almost empty again, as with the new schedule most girls would be on expeditions getting resources twice every day, leaving early in the morning, returning to eat and restock, then leave again just to get back when the sun was almost gone.
The main building was again lonely, as both helpers were not around, Ooyodo was commissioned with Akashi to give maintenance to the whole main base, a really big job for only two persons, fortunately most places were almost new and got small details to repair, but it would take them sometime to complete.
After they arrive to the office, Kashima helped him arrange some papers, mostly reports of the base performance, resources, expeditions, training routines and more, this was now mostly of the Admiral´s job, filling reports and help the girls at the base if any problem appears, nothing more…
-So I was wondering…- The man suddenly tell his mind -What was your position in this base before? - He came again with such a question, even if his hands are tied and can't look around for more clues of the place, he can at least get more info with someone that lived there previously.
-Admiral… What do you think it was? fufufu~– Kashima smiled and left all the papers in his desk -You are such a curious puppy… but I can assure you it was nothing interesting. Really, I was just a girl that happened to be here for some dumb reason- she couldn't tell much about it but at least could give him a wide view for him to not ask again –But as I am pretty sure you would die to know more about it…- she emphasizes those words with a different tone of her voice -I was sent here for training… see? Not that interesting- she visualized her old job and got a melancholic feeling, so could not help but smile but also almost shed a tear as she recalls his voice calling her name.
Kashima checked her wrist clock and turned back just to keep her calm appearance -I would love to tell you more about me, but you see, right now I have some things to do, maybe some other day, see you later Admiral- the supervisor turns back and left to start her own schedule.
-Take care…- The man said feeling defeated again, the ship girl clearly didn't want to tell him any details about her past and he knew this, sadly nothing good will came from Kashima´s mouth, so he will not ask her again about that subject.
Without much joy, the admiral continues with his work for hours, he remained alone for that time, only the visit of Mamiya cheered him up, she brought some food for him and stayed with him for a while, but ultimately returned to the cafeteria to attend the rest of the fleet.
Now that Kashima is around taking care of everything, he would not be needed too much, just for the administrative part and well, to welcome and keep the ship girls morale high. This would have been his new routine and future, without much effort nor interesting things to do, far from the real fight and just serving as a common officer that got no real power or even significance in the war.
But every now and then even the smallest action can change the entire world´s fate.
A beeping sound came from the distance, at first the man didn't mind of it, as it disappeared after a few moments, but then he heard a small voice calling for him, so he watched over his desk and looked how a piece of paper was moving on its own, he then realized it was the same fairy that sometimes helped with messages in the communication room.
-Admiral! A new ship is coming- the fairy delivered the message with a lot of effort. The man stands up, took the note and read it, it was a simple note that said that a new girl is coming to the base that very same day at afternoon. This was weird again, as most ships came at noon even more was the fact that this new ship was not in today´s schedule.
-Thanks for your hard work, I think you deserve some sleep, you can rest for what´s left of the day- he told the small girl, she looked exhausted just for that trip, but taking in count that the fairy took the time and effort to bring that note to his office all on her own, it must have taken much energy, in response the small fairy smiled and fall to the floor to rest.
The time was close so he took this chance to welcome the new girl, as he always did, he went to the port and wait.
In the distance someone approached at medium speed, a short dark haired girl, that got a black and white uniform with a small skirt that remind her of someone else, curiously she got some kind of halo on top of her head, but it was that weapon she was carrying, some kind of lance, that stand out the most.
It was then that the girl waved her hand and went straight to the factory as she was using her entire outfit. He didn't mind about it as it was better if they release their outfit first, as it looks quite heavy to move on ground. He started to walk to meet her at the entrance of that place. It took her some minutes to leave the factory but when she did she came slowly and smiling with such a calm expression.
-Good day! I welcome you to this base, I´m the admiral in charge- the man said to the girl, she looks more mature than the others, so he can imagine she is not a destroyer.
-Nice to meet you, I'm Tatsuta~. I hope Tenryuu-chan hasn't been causing you trouble?- she talked with a slow pace and a sweet voice.
-You know Tenryuu?- The man couldn't help but ask the obvious, all the ship girls were new to him, as he only saw photos of some in the base archives, but those were not of much help actually as they were not around anymore.
-Sure, she is my cute sister, Mmfufufu- She answers and giggles in a cute way, she doesn't look like her sister, she is quite modest and was not trying to show off at every moment. -Actually I ask for a transfer here as soon as Tenryuu was scheduled to came here, but mine was delayed for some time… I hope nothing bad happened these days- she explained, as she did her best too change base as she always did, however this last time the officer in charge didn't want to approve her change, so she got to convince him with a little serious talk, this is why she get ahead of the official transfer.
-A lot happened since she got here- the man answer and both started to walk to the port, he wanted to show her the base as he always did to every new girl.
-I see…- Tatsuta looked down disappointed and felt that she arrived too late this time again.
-But all were good things, she´s my secretary ship- he quickly said that as he realized her sad expression, as these girls are sisters in one way or the other, they share a special conection, that's why they tend to take care of their own class more.
-Se-se-secretary ship?- Tatsuta opened her eyes in surprise and stutter for a second, this was nothing like she ever imagined, maybe she heard wrong, maybe she was delusional or it was just a cruel joke of him.
-Sure, and she´s been doing great. Actually she has helped me with quite much in a few days- The admiral was proud of the girl that he chose, she was always ready and got early at every time she was needed, he liked the way she took care of the missions and how easy she takes care of leadership even if it was the first time, even with Kashima pressure, she kept doing her job without complains.
-That´s because she likes to be the best always- Tatsuta smiled, she could hardly believe what she was hearing, so she was happy just to hear someone talking nice things of her sister.
-Indeed, she is really good, I can't believe no one appreciate that before…- the man felt bad for all those officers that got her around and didn't give her a chance to show her true abilities.
-Yeah I wonder… why would anyone name secretary such a dishonorable ship- her voice felt different somehow, she was still calm but some bad vibes came from her at that moment, mostly because she imagined that the Admiral only named her assistant just to take advantage of her pure heart.
-She is honest, a fierce warrior and a hard worker. Don't care if she is seen as a traitor- He compliment Tenryuu, to him as his first secretary, was the best girl for the job, even if everyone in the navy thinks the contrary, he knows her more than most of them.
-…- Tatsuta remained in silence analyzing the man´s face searching for a lie, but could only find honesty in his words -…So you knew about her…-Tatsuta looked down again and her voice filled with pain again -There´s a reason for that label, she is seen as a disgrace to the navy- all the joy she felt before vanished, as those words will forever haunt them, even if this base was run by a good officer, the label would not disappear.
-I imagined something like that, I´m sorry I asked her about that… - He said and hides in shame, he knew it wasn't a good thing to ask her about the past in the island, but he can't even really imagine what she got to endure.
-She carried a big load on her back for a long time- Tatsuta stops and gazes into the sea -I wasn´t able to help her that day and even made everything worse- even with all the rage inside, she couldn't help but feeling sad of her sister, she did try her best but failed -Only one person believed in my sister´s words and helped her…- she didn't imagine she would be talking to an officer about this, but if he was honest, perhaps she can try to open herself a bit this time.
-I´m sorry to hear that she passed through so much…- The man stopped too and gaze at the sea too. War show the worst of some people and turn them into beasts, this world is full of ugly things and they continue to exist even if we close our eyes and look the other way.
-…That was only half of it- Tatsuta continue as the pain in her body returned once more -My sister had a rough life… no other commander has ever liked her, even if she gave her maximum effort at every base she was stationed before- she explained as she has been with her sister keeping her company and trying her best to protect her, but most of the time was difficult, as a label was more powerful than her.
-But why?... – he asked not knowing the truth -She is a fantastic ship girl; I mean she is a great flagship…- he tried his best to understand how a simple word can affect the life of someone, but he truly was ignorant of how ruthless life can be.
-She was accused of murder- she said fast changing the entire mood of the conversation to a dark one. It was difficult to understand for a new officer, but that label came for those that goes against humanity itself, Tenryuu was accused of homicide of a fellow human… so to the Navy, Tenryuu was nothing more than another abyssal monster.
-M-murder? That's impossible! You are our hope against the abyssal army, there´s no way one of you ship girls can hurt people- he felt as if all his ideas and hopes broke at the same moment, to him those words were impossible, he regards every ship girl as a heroine, some kind of warrior sent to save us from certain doom.
-Hope?... is a nice thing to imagine us like that Admiral- Tatsuta couldn't help but smile and admire his honesty and somehow childish way of looking at them -Anyway… my sister avoided execution, but that man used all of his power and influence to send her as far away as possible and tainted her reputation forever. At every base she was reassigned, she was hated, feared or ignored by everyone- Even if they were human-like beings Tatsuta felt that she was nothing more than a tool, something people used for their own benefit, and perhaps if the war ever ends, they will not have more use for her and just eliminate her too.
-That´s terrible…- The admiral felt bad about this words, he didn't imagine how much difficulty a ship girl can have at other bases, even more how other officers treat their ship girls.
-My sister has suffered a lot because of that man, that´s why I always travel with her to any base in order to protect her- she explained her actions and why she did them, in fact, Tatsuta was always watching her sister and doing her best to made her feel better, always accompanied her through their missions or whenever she was docked for weeks, she always was around to keep her safe.
There they stood for a while, watching in silence the waves crash into the shore, while the sun went down the horizon.
-I just want to warn you… Admiral- Tatsuta walked in front of the man and put a finger on his neck -If you ever hurt Tenryuu in any way, I will come for your head- she slowly moves her finger in a straight line touching his skin, the way she talked and how deeply her gaze was, it was obvious she was not joking.
-I will never hurt her; I promise- The man answer and look serious at that moment, he looked quite gallant and different from before, like a true man that bows to protect someone from any danger.
-Fine I believe you for now, you seem to be an honest man, Mmfufu…- she smiled and somehow felt better after their conversation, he looked to be reliable, even if he didn't look to be so experienced, she knew here they will have a better life.
At the distance the expedition fleet was arriving as the schedule marks, just before sunset, with that all ships should be back to the base. The fleet watched the man they all wave their hands as he was waiting for them, they were tired but couldn't help feeling better knowing that he was there as they arrive. All of them went separate ways, the rest of the fleet went to deliver their load of resources, save them, then went to recover and eat something, and Tenryuu went to meet her sister and deliver her report the admiral.
-Tatsuta! Took ya a while to reach here- The secretary ship was really happy to watch her sister again, she was nervous as she took a lot more to reach here, but things went well for a change.
-Tenryuu-chan I´m glad you are here- she smiled and showed how much she truly cares for her sister, as the very first thing she did was try to hug her, even if Tenryuu resist her.
-Yes! See you tomorrow, I will gladly teach you more- At that moment a familiar voice appeared from behind the road, Kashima was just saying good bye to her new pupils, Akatsuki and Hibiki. They both reached at the same time, as the schedule marked that all sea operations would never be at night.
At that moment, everything felt heavy and time felt as if it stopped. The Admiral couldn't help but wish in vain for Kashima to take another route and not look into their direction, but some encounters are inevitable.
-Admiral I didn't knew you got a snake here…- Tatsuta immediately recognized that voice and told the man about it.
-Please let's go, Tatsuta I don't want to have any problems- Tenryuu knew that a storm was coming, and didn't want any part of it, she took her sisters arm and was about to leave before she arrives.
-Admiral, I will give you some advice, never trust any of her words, she used to be around the late Marshall admiral at all times- she remembered the past again and how Kashima was one of the ships that protected him above their own safety and against everything.
The man nods in response, it didn't surprise him much, as he already imagined that she lied that same morning.
Then both sisters went off and avoided the encounter with no problems, the man just faked a smile and Kashima believe him, they all left to their rooms and all went good for the night…
…and that would have been a perfect world were everything goes smoothly and bad things never happen to the heroines, but sadly the world is a nasty place and things never work the way they are intended.
-Admiral?... Are you with that useless ship again? I can't believe you like that traitor so much- Kashima said with all the bad intent, her words were free as she knew there was no one around except for them -Are you into that kind of depraved women?… Ufufu~- she couldn't help but mock the poor secretary with her cruel words.
-Ara… You can't help but bully my precious sister? –Tatsuta stopped on her tracks, even if Tenryuu try to pull her it was too late, as they look at each other, their hate appears in their eyes immediately.
-You… What are you doing here? – Kashima frown at that moment, she didn't expect to see both sisters at the same time, she didn't know of her transfer, if she knew she would have taken some precautions and even delayed it until after she left the base.
-I can ask the same thing I didn't wanted to see you again- Tatsuta still tried her best to look calm, but was hard, she didn't know of her for a long time, and this base was the last place she expected to see her.
-I was sent here first...- Kashima answers feeling disgusted -Admiral! Why is she here?– she really didn't want to be again at the same place, especially with Tatsuta, as she was quite rebellious and couldn't follow the rules unless forced to.
-A message came today; she came afterwards- The ma answers as he was caught in the middle of the storm.
-I see, I was not noticed in advance- Kashima then tries to remember every ship the navy was supposed to send to the base, both as trainees and helpers, but still can't imagine why she was not informed about it.
-Now you can't do your bullying anymore or else I will teach you a tough lesson- Tatsuta put herself in front of her sister as if protecting her from her very eyes, she can't stand her and will not tolerate anything that came from her, even the smallest word.
-Are you threatening me?- Kashima took those words as they were, she would never tolerate any disrespect from anyone, even more from that pair of repulsive ships.
-Of course, let me show you then- Tatsuta took a step ahead and stated to walk to meet Kashima, they were not so far away, but every inch they get close, the heavy the place felt. Tenryuu couldn't stop her, it was too late and started to shiver again.
-Oh? Are you approaching me? Instead of running away, you are coming right to me?– Kashima questions her rival and wait for her to see her reaction, she knew this happened before and knew the results went into her favor.
-I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer-Tatsuta was pissed off, again finding her after all this time and what she did to her, was too much for her to keep her calm demeanor anymore, she was angry and wanted to let her frustration free.
-Oh Oh! Then come as close as you want- Kashima waved her hands welcoming her foe, and prepared for it, she was not weak and will show her again who is the one in charge.
It was as if time stopped and the man was only a spectator, he tried to move but they were fast, Tatsuta jumped into her foe and punched her in the face, however Kashima didn't stand in place and kick her quite hard in the abdomen. They exchange a few blows more and they take a few steps back.
-Please don't fight! - the man took the chance to step In between them as they were planning their next moves, from behind Tenryuu took her sister´s arm again, and beg her to stop.
-Admiral, with all respect, this ain´t your fight- Tatsuta tried to release herself from her sister and tried to look past him. Once this started it will not stop so easily.
-Yes, don't bark while I fight, just take this trash away with you, I can't tolerate to see both at the same time- Kashima took a step and kick the man in the back with enough force to push him into Tatsuta.
-Trash?- However she took that chance and let him crash with her sister, knowing that would hardly hurt her -Didn't you bite your tongue there? the only trash remaining on this island is you- Tatsuta advance once again, even if her lip was open now, the taste of her own blood was already familiar to her.
-Oh! The piece of crap is talking to me…- Kashima was able to keep up, a few hits was nothing to her -Are you serious? I have a bigger rank than you two as always, and yet I feel like you still want to battle me?- Her gloves got some red stains now that she hit her and couldn't help to want to punish her more.
-Battle you? of course I can and I will love to break that pretty nose of yours if you attack my sister again- She points her finger at her, this time deadly serious, she will not stop at anything to protect Tenryuu, from anyone and especially from her.
-Me? If I could I would send you right to the frontlines to die, but it seems that death is too good for a pair of traitors like you… Oh is that wrong~ fufufu- she mocks her again, as always Kashima used her rank to overcome every girl, and sometimes move them with her influence, however even her can't send both monsters to the front, as they are already dead to the navy.
-Yes, yes, but it seems we share the same fate and… at least I still have someone I can protect from the abyssal army- Tatsuta counter her words with a sharp attack, one that can truly hurt the training ship at her very core.
-Don't you dare say it! I always did my duty the best I could and even more- The supervisor got hit in her weakness, her remorse was big as she was away that fateful day and returned as fast as she could when she heard what happened, only to find her home in ruins and a bloodshed of everyone she knew.
-And yet your beloved admiral died during that raid- Tatsuta smiled with sadism, she knew best that words can hurt even more than most physical pain and of course knew where to hit her badly.
-You! From every ship in the navy, you are the last one that can speak of him, you fucking psycho! You tried to kill him!- Kashima fall for the taunt and immediately lost her temper, she was truly angry about it, as it was a sad fact, so she couldn't help but shout the truth about Tatsuta too. When Tenryuu was imprisoned for her crime, her sister planned out of rage to assassinate the man in charge.
-Of course! And I would gladly kill him a million times if I could- She said those words that could be considered treason without any remorse, she did try to kill that man when she thought he was the most vulnerable but was unsuccessful and received punishment for it, one that she still bears to this day in both mind and body.
-You were supposed to be there for him, not betray him!- Kashima started to cry as she remembered that sad day and how she was one of the girls that stopped her before she could touch even a single hair of him -I can't believe I trust you two once, even more, I thought of you and your sister as my friends!- she revived the betrayal again, that well-known feeling of pain filled her chest, as the three of them were part of the six Japanese ships stationed in that late base, they all shared a good friendship once, but then it all shattered with that incident.
-Friends? don't make me laugh- Tatsuta was not convinced with her tears -A friend would have trusted our words… No matter what that asshole said to you- she knew that Kashima turned her back when her sister was accused of homicide, she believed every lie that the man told her, that's why she realized there was only one way to free her sister.
-Silence! I will not tolerate any more disrespect from a lowlife like you- Kashima cleaned her eyes of tears as hate filled her again, she wanted to beat her so much just to silence her forever.
-You knew that he lied, my sister has been innocent all this time… -Tatsuta got enough of her words too, she was the last person that can tell her anything at all, she still got the marks all over her body to remember how much pain she endure because of her - And yet you helped him with our torture!- She raise her voice and now was visible angry, all her memories came back so fresh she can still smell her own blood on the floor tiles.
-Tatsuta please stop this!-Tenryuu couldn't help but cry too, her voice was broken, she didn't want to revive those memories again -Don't say anymore!- but above everything else… she didn't want that the man she liked know the truth about her, or else he would throw her away like the failure of a woman she was.
-Shut it! You knew what happened that day and still came here all defiant…- Kashima yelled at her too. She was surprised to find that Tenryuu would be around the same base -You stupid bitch! I will beat you until you can barely breathe! - She shout at Tatsuta and ready her fists, walking to her.
-Are you still jealous? – Tatsuta couldn't help but taunt her even more -You were his whore and yet you couldn't stand watching him enjoy our bodies more than yours… - she hit her with more power than any punch can deliver, and it worked. Tatsuta was a broken woman and couldn't help but resist the pain that surge inside her body once again, all those days and nights were filled with his lowly desires followed by daily beatings from her.
-Shut up traitor! A slut like you can only get turned on by a whipping now! – Kashima was disgusted from her words and slap Tatsuta with all her force -I still remember your screams and moans, yet I still think your sister´s were the sweetest, hehehe~- she strike back as her foe was still recovering from her attack.
-You really want to die- Tatsuta felt as if her jaw almost falls off so she closes the distance, grab her by the shoulders and head-butt her right in the middle of the face, followed by a right hook into the cheekbone that pushed her back a few meters and almost stumbled into the ground.
-Fufufu- Kashima recover her stance and felt how blood flows from his mouth, that hit opened her cheek from the inside –Does your back still hurts?- she provokes her too with something that she still bears to that day, she then spits out red and checks with her tongue if her teeth are still in place.
-Only when it rains- Tatsuta keep it up and punched her again a few times right to the face and the right eye. She got used to the daily beatings from Kashima, but to this day the scars on her back still aches when there's enough humidity in the air.
-I thought so…- Kashima resisted the punch and counter back with a precise and destructive liver blow, Tatsuta immediately feel the pain and how half her body went numb, that punch easily broke one of her ribs and yet still launch another jab that hit Kashima in the middle of the nose and directly made it bleed.
Both stopped for a moment and take a few steps back to recover a bit.
Tenryuu couldn't take it anymore and run away from there, she can't stand those memories coming back, those words, her flesh bleeding, that burning agony in her insides, the disgusting pleasure, his satisfied face.
It all came to her again, the torture that lasted almost six weeks and that only stopped when that german ship intervene and helped her to prove her innocence, only then he let them go and transferred them to the farthest base in the north, but both sisters were delivered so badly hurt they got miscarriages months later.
-You will never lay a hand on Tenryuu again while I ´m still alive- Tatsuta noticed how her sister escaped the place and how the Admiral stayed in silence, as he couldn't do anything at all to stop or even try to fix this problem, it was something that couldn't be helped in any way.
-Mark my words bitch, it will not be for long if you cross my path again- Kashima didn't want to stop but she knew if pushed anymore, she will not control herself and this time finish them, if anything happened to the two of them the navy will not care.
Tatsuta turned back and felt the piercing pain in her side, she couldn't run for now. With one final look at her hated enemy she left the port and started to look around for her sister.
-Hear me out dog!- the fleet supervisor used her glove to cover her nose, she was still pissed off -Yes, I was stationed here under Johann´s direct orders, I served him as the training specialist and helped him developed some of the training devices that the navy uses nowadays at every base- she revealed her true past now, as she remembered his question from the morning and how eager this person is to know about the past of the island, even if risking his own well-being . -There! now you know the truth about me- tears started to flow from her eyes again -Are you happy now?- she tried to stop her nose from bleeding but couldn't help staining her uniform with all that blood. She was unrecognizable in that state, all her proud was gone, and all that was left was a frail woman.
-…- The man felt terrible once again, he felt weak and useless, he felt less than a man to let the two girls fight too that state, and with all of that her reveal her own past felt unworthy -I´m not, now I wish I didn't know it-he regret ever trying to find more than he could chew, this was more than he ever imagined, and it was just the tip of the iceberg. He got a serious doubt about continuing with his research, perhaps all that was left on that island was just painful memories, and he didn't want to know them…
-What? now you have second thoughts… You wanted to find more about the base isn't it? This is our reality now and is not easy rookie…- Kashima´s voice was filled with despair, her tears mixed with her blood -This fucking war took away the ones I once called friends, it made me hurt them, then destroyed my home and killed the one I loved the most!- she felt broken once again as the cruel reality she tried to ignore assault her, she was weeping profusely as all her toughness disappeared.
-I´m sorry for your loss… I wish… I wish I could help you somehow- The man couldn't help but feel bad for her, even with what she did, even if she did all those terrible things and looked to be the worst kind of person, he still couldn't hate her, as she was another victim of this war.
-I don't need your pity- Kashima refused his kindness -You can't help someone who has lost everything…- she told those words as she started to calm down and start to think straight again. The blood stopped and she tried to breathe slowly, but as the adrenaline disappear, the pain started to invade her -But I´m thankful that you tried… even if I have been awful to you… I´m sorry- she couldn't stop herself as she cries again, she never wanted to make others suffer or to promote this kind of violence, but all those feelings were stronger than her reason.
The Admiral didn't know what words he can speak to ease her pain, so he only did a single thing, the first thing that came to his mind. He walks up to her and hug her, he didn't mind his uniform gets dirty nor her strong reaction, as he didn't live enough of her grief, all he can do was share his empathy and try to understand her. Kashima punched and cursed him a few times but then pressed against his chest and cried her heart out, she screams all her pain, she felt her heart broke over and over again and slowly lost her voice over the sound of the crashing waves as the tide started to rise.
The night came early that day.
Inside the communication room was Tenryuu, she was crying over the routes she has been planning for the next morning. She felt terrible, she imagines that all she fought was for nothing. All she couldn't do since that night, since the day that changed her life forever, when she was unfairly convicted.
Suddenly a beeping noise came from the devices, she recognized it as an incoming call from a fellow ship girl. She tries to control herself even if it proves quite difficult, she manages to answer.
-Hello- She answers quickly trying to control her voice.
-Hello? I´m having a bit of interference…. Co-commander is that you?- A childish voice came from the other side of the line.
-He´s not here- Tenryuu managed to return her voice to her normal tune –I´m the secretary ship, Tenryuu, what's your status?- She recovered for at least long enough to take the call and inform of any problem that may came.
-Eh? No way, is this a bad joke or a ghost picked up the line?...- the girl on the other side couldn't help but laugh a bit.
-This is not a joke, I´m the secretary ship and flagship of this base fleet- Tenryuu couldn't hear her voice very well, however she perceived something familiar on those words -Who is it? And what´s your status- She asked again to understand why she said such a thing.
-I am Harusame…- she answers abruptly -Traitor, I don't know how you got into the line but stop interfering with the base, please kill yourself and do us a favor- she said in a weird way, being serious and mocking the girl at the same time -Ah! But first can you tell the Commander that I am on my way to the base, and that he please tells my sisters about my position and possibly send a fleet to escort me, I will send my coordinates to you now, the weather is getting bad and I don't want to get lost and lose more energy- she delivered her message, as she was traveling through the middle of the sea and a storm was starting to form -Can you do at least something this easy? Traitor…- she didn't measure her words one bit, she disliked Tenryuu as she knew what she did and repeat her label at every opportunity.
-Yes… they are on their way- Tenryuu felt despair once more, those words were painful, especially from someone she knew very well.
-Thanks!... Commander if you are there, I´m happy to inform that I will happily join your fleet, wait for me, Yes!- Her voice was joyful as she did convince her Admiral to be able to transfer, she can finally be with her sisters and with his new Commander.
The call was done, Tenryuu remained in silence as all that make her suffer again, but she couldn't help it, another girl will make her life hell as she remembers how Harusame was especially cruel with her words, as she was quite close to the Marshall Admiral, she was the first to change her attitude towards her.
There she remains thinking about it and what she will do from now on, when she heard someone on the door.
-There you are Tenryuu-chan… Shall we go?- Tatsuta finally found her sister it took her a while, to reach her, especially with her wound, but now the two of them were together, and the pain was nothing against it.
-Yeah… let´s go- Tenryuu went with her sister, she didn't tell her about the call, she didn't leave a note nor she mention it to her commander. She left the room in silence and didn't care, she knew Harusame well enough to know that she was more than capable of reaching the island even in the worst type of sea storms, so she didn't mind. She wanted to stop thinking and just sleep for the rest of the night.
