Just a note, I want to say that this story has Norse gods in it. This won't have any background from any movies or books at all; this will just be my interpretation of the Norse gods and How To Train Your Dragon.

This takes place between the first movie and the second movie.

Stay safe from the Corona Virus!

Disclaimer: I, unfortunately, do not own How To Train Your Dragon, and I never will. :(

Chapter 1 - A Problem

8 ¾ months before Hiccup's birth

Odin woke up abruptly. He had sensed a being of great power being created, and he got dressed in his proper attire before rushing to consult Heimdall on the issue.

Odin knocked on Heimdall's door and said urgently, "Heimdall. I need you to look into the Nine Realms for me." He heard the sounds of a yawning Heimdall coming to his door. The door opened, revealing a sleepy Heimdall that looked half awake.

"What do you need, Odin? It's the middle of the night." Heimdall said sleepily.

"I need you to look for a being of great power. He doesn't have as much power as a god, but he still possesses much power. I felt him being created tonight, and I rushed here to figure out what it was." Odin replied. Heimdall yawned and opened his eyes wide. He immediately found what he was looking for, and reported back to Odin.

"It is a boy on Midgard. His parents just had a successful night and he was the result. I am sorry, but I cannot see any more about this boy. My advice is to consult the Norns about this; they will know more than me on this." Heimdall said.

"Thank you, Heimdall. I will see you in the morning." Odin said briskly, then turned around and walked quickly to where the Norns resided. He quickly arrived at their cave (he liked to call it the Cave of Doom because it was so creepy), and called out, "Norns? I have come to ask you a few questions."

"About the boy in Midgard, yes?" One of the Norns asked, creeping out of the shadows of the cave. Two other wrinkly hags followed her.

"Yes. I can sense his great power, close to the power of a god. Can you please see what he is and advise me on a course of action?" Odin asked politely.

The Norns closed their eyes as one and said eerily, "The one you ask about is being with great power. He has the soul of a dragon, and that will show itself one day. His power will increase as the years go by, but his village will shun him for what he is. You would be able to affect the amount of shunning, but he will still be shunned no matter what you do because he appears a runt to them. We advise that you hide his powers until he is ready for them. If you choose this path, his powers will still grow, but they will be dormant. They will reveal themselves when he is desperate for them when trying to save a friend without any time to save them. This act will prove him to be ready for his powers, as he is helping his friends and family." They opened their eyes, and pronounced, "All other paths lead to mass destruction and the instability of Midgard."

"Thank you. Have a good night." Odin politely said. He left the Cave of Doom briskly and returned to his room. Odin closed his door and gathered the magic necessary for this task in his hands as a glowing white ball. "The boy who has much power, hide his powers before they flower, until a time in which he feels much fear, only then will they appear." Odin chanted. He released the magic, and it vanished from view. The magic ball flew to Midgard, and sunk into Valka's stomach, unnoticed by anyone.

Now that that was taken care of, Odin went back to bed.

About 20 years later

5 dragons and 6 riders could be spotted headed towards Changewing Island, and one of those riders was getting increasingly annoyed.

"So we're just going to replenish our stock of Changewing venom, seeing as some people used it all up." Hiccup said, with an annoyed glare at the twins.

"It was for a noble cause." Ruffnut claimed.

"'Tis right, dear sister. Melting the supports of Snotlout's hut every night truly is the noblest of causes." Tuffnut agreed.

"Will you just be quiet for once?" Astrid asked, annoyed. Turning back to Hiccup, she said, "I wish they had only done it once. Snotlout's face was hilarious, but doing it every night is too much. If-"

"No. Being quiet is one trait we do not possess." Tuffnut said.

"And my face was not hilarious!" Snotlout complained.

"Yeah, whatever. We're here!" Astrid declared. Changewing island was directly in front of them. They swooped down and landed quietly. Hiccup dismounted, and walked forward.

"Now, be quiet. We don't want to spook them." He said quietly. The others followed. Toothless walked ahead a bit, and looked around for Changewings. Hiccup walked next to Astrid. He slipped his hand around Astrid's.

Meanwhile, Toothless was walking up ahead, and then he heard a dangerous hiss. He froze, and Hiccup and Astrid walked into view just in time to see a Changewing spit acid at Toothless's face a mere foot away.

"NO!" Hiccup yelled.

Ha ha! Cliffhanger! Sorry, but I love cliffhangers. I also have a strange obsession with Changewing acid.
