The Servant

Nutty the Squirrel and her squirrel biker gang rushed through the trees with the Cup of the Alpha in their possession. Nutty kept checking behind her to make sure the Babylon Rogues weren't following.

"Keep going guys!" She exclaimed as she looked back once more to make sure no one was behind them.

Not long after, the Babylon Rogues began to sneak up to them. Jet the Hawk on his Type J board, Storm the Albatross on his bike that Wave the Swallow had just modified for him to have a zero gravity effect, and Wave the Swallow who's board was taking on a lot of damage after being run into a tree by one of Nutty's other gang members.

"I'm in the clear guy, you both hang back a ways, I'm going to snag the cup!" Jet called out to Storm and Wave. He laid on his boosters and quickly shot up alongside Nutty.

She got one glance at him and rolled her eyes. "Ugh! You stupid hawk, this cup doesn't belong to you, get outta here!"

Jet let out a slight chuckle. "It belongs to me just as much as it does you squirrel." He replied. Jet's board was much faster than Nutty's bike and he began swerving around her bike in circles that began to create a wind tunnel that not only made Nutty slow down, it also caused her to lose control. Her bike started swerving back and forth and Jet pulled up alongside her again. He grabbed his magnetic puller and aimed it for Nutty's side satchel. He began searching through the satchel while keeping an eye in front of him.

"HEY!" Nutty screamed. "Give that back!" she yelled as she began to regain control of her bike. She veered right trying to slam into Jet.

It didn't really deter Jet from finding the Cup of the Alpha. Once he did, he threw the satchel back to Nutty and called back to Storm. "Hey Storm! Catch!" Jet yelled as he through the cup back in Storm's direction.

Luckily, Storm caught the cup and held it close to his side. But not before Nutty's other two bikers pulled back their bikes to let Storm catch up to them. Now Storm had one of Nutty's biker squirrels on each side of him and they were slamming into each side. Storm gave one of them a hard punch with his mighty fist knocking one off of their bikes as it then slammed into a tree. The other squirrel biker continued to ram into the side of Storm's bike. Storm wasn't losing that cup.

Wave, who was viewing all of this from behind was getting annoyed that she couldn't catch up to the action. "Stupid board! Can't even take a little hit from a tree." She complained to herself. "Hey Storm! Throw it back to me!" She called.

Storm, in his dimness through it too far to the left and Wave was unable to catch it. The Squirrel biker pulled back on his bike again and turned around to go nab the cup that lied uncovered on the ground. He hopped off of his bike and picked up the cup and began to place it in his pocket.

Wave was beginning to catch up. She was preparing to ditch her board. Now she was a few yards away from the biker and the cup. She leapt off her board sending it directly into a tree, she stuck her right foot out in front of her and plunged it right into the squirrel's chest knocking him down. She grabbed the cup and waited for Storm.

It took him a few, but Storm returned to meet up with Wave.

"Such a hard kick from such a small girl." The squirrel said as he laid there on the ground panting.

"This is why you don't mess with the Babylon Rogues!" Wave stated waving her finger at him as she hopped onto the back of Storm's bike. "Jet! We got it, let's go!" Wave demanded over the walkie radio.

"Catch ya later Squirrel!" Jet proclaimed as he swerved right in front of Nutty causing her bike to slide out from under her.

"You haven't seen the last of us Jet!" Nutty yelled as she stammered to get up.

Jet finally caught up to Storm and Wave. He nodded to them and then boosted ahead of them as if he was racing them back to the ship.

"Well it's about time you guys made it back. I was about to leave without you!" Jet joked once Storm and Wave met him on the ship.

"HA HA very funny Jet!" Wave stated with her fists on her hips. She walked out of the common area and back to her shop where she needed to quickly craft a new board.

"Storm, let me see our prized possession." Jet demanded.

Storm stepped aside in order for Jet to have sight of his bike.

"No no, not your bike, the cup, let me see the Cup of the Alpha!" Jet demanded again.

"Oh, uh right, here… here it is Jet. The Cup of the Alpha." Storm stuttered.

Jet took it from Storm amazed by it's shiny gold color and the detail. "Ahh yes, one of the most valuable treasures or our age." He said gawking at the cup.

Storm, confused by Jet's comment began counting on his fingers trying to figure out the age of the cup.

Jet noticed and snarled at him.

"What shall we do with this cup Jet?" Storm asked.

"I'm not sure yet, I suppose we'll take it to the wood city and pawn it off on Margie the Ferret." Jet suggested. "Then we'll see what we truly have to spend."

The room was quiet for about 15 seconds when Storm spoke up again. " Welp, time for a sandwich!" he muttered as he walked out of the room heading for the kitchen.

"OF course you do." Jet said to himself.

While Jet was trying to take a power nap, he heard some hollering coming from another room on the ship.

"Storm! Look at this mess you made!" Wave cried.

"I…I…I was gonna clean it up." Storm replied.

"You better, because it seems I always have to clean up after you!"

Jet came through the door into the kitchen. "What is all the yelling for in here?" he asked. Then he looked around at the mess Storm had made. Then he looked back at Storm with a scowl on his face. "Storm clean this mess up now, how hard is it to make a sandwich anyway?"

Wave then turned to Jet. "Jet, I'm glad you're here. I have some idea as to what we should spend our recent fortunes on."

"This outta be good!" Jet said in a sarcastic tone.

Wave scowled at him. "Well, we need to make some major repairs to our ship, a lot of repairs that even I'm not capable of."

"You're not capable of fixing them? I don't think I believe it." Jet mentioned.

"It's more that I don't have the parts I need to make the right modifications. Our nitros are down, several heat flaps are melted and our landing gear has been sticking real bad." Wave informed him.

"Well I was actually thinking that it might be a good time for some new extreme gear for all three of us, especially since your board is toast." Jet mentioned.

Wave threw her fists on her hips and had scorn in her eyes. "If your gear is not to your satisfaction, I would be more than happy to adjust it for you, I've spent a lot of time modifying our gear and I will continue to work on it. We don't need new gear. Or is it possible your skills are slipping?" Wave argued.

"I have an idea!" Storm interjected. "We should hire a personal butler who will cook and clean for us!"

Both at the same time both Wave and Jet shot down Storm's idea.

"No way!" Jet stated.

"Heck no!" Wave cried.

Wave and Jet kept on arguing about each of their ideas of how to spend the earnings. Storm stood back and listened, turning his head from Jet to Wave, then back to Jet again for a couple of minutes. Soon, he interjected again.

"Hey! Why don't we hire a personal butler!"

This time after a significant amount of arguing, both Wave and Jet said "FINE!"

"Oh goodie!" Storm yelled as he ran up to grab the cup from Wave's hands and ended up grabbing Wave as well and ran out of the room with her and the cup.

"Hey! Put me down mister!" Wave yelled.

Storm dropped Wave and she stood up and brushed herself off. "Give me that cup and we'll take it to the woodland town and pawn it off. And there we can find ourselves a personal butler." Wave insisted.

Jet lowered the ship and both Storm and Wave exited the ship to go into the woodland town while Jet stayed on board.

"Pick someone good why dontcha!" Jet hollered.

Storm and Waved walked through the woodland town, gawking at all the various characters walking around the town. Storm managed to greet everyone that passed by them on the way.

"Storm, don't greet all of them, they don't need to know our business besides, this town is full of thieves." Wave reminded him.

"Oh yeah, I forgot." Storm said slightly.

"That's exactly why I came with you. You and Jet tend to get off track sometimes."

After a few more minutes of walking through town, the two came up to Margie's pawn shop.

"Well hello darlings! How are we today and what do we have for ol' Margie this fine day?"

"We bring you the Cup of the Alpha." Wave declared as she unwrapped it and presented it to Margie.

Margie put her glasses on and started examining the cup for authenticity. "Where of where did you manage to find such a valuable artifact?"

"Took it from some squirrels!" Storm added.

Wave turned to look at Storm with frustration. "WE found it first and THEY took it from us. We just happened to get it back from them." Wave added

"Sweetie, I'm not interested in whom you may have taken it from. Just curious to know where it was found." Margie stated. "That said, here are your earnings." Margie said as she placed a huge bag full of woodland coins on the counter.

Both Storm and Wave gawked at the bag with their eyes huge as if they had struck gold.

"I'll carry this!" Wave said as she grabbed the bag and pulled it off the counter. The bag hit the floor with a thud followed by Wave. "Storm! Carry this!" Wave demanded.

"First, we need to hire us a personal butler Margie, where can we find one?" Storm asked with a huge smile on his face.

Margie smiled and took her glasses off of her little round nose. "Oh hunny, go over to the Beaver's Tail across the street. It's a high class restaurant where you can always find people looking for work like that. Have a good day sweeties." Margie said as she walked to the back room of her shop.

Together, Wave and Storm went to the Beaver's Tail in search of their personal servant. They sat down at a table and interviewed several candidates but none of them were willing to work for people like the Babylon Rogues. They were about to give up on their search when their waiter finally came over to their table.

"Hello, I'm Pip the Shrew and I'll be taking care of you this afternoon." He wore a monocle and had a sophisticated accent.

Wave and Storm glanced at each other and nodded their heads and offered Pip the job.

"Jet, we'd like to introduce you to our new personal butler." Wave declared with a smile on her face.

Jet took one look at Pip and was rather displeased. "Who is this guy? I knew I should have gone with you! Do I have to do everything myself?"

"Sir, I'm Pip the Shrew, I can clean and cook and a variety of other things."

"Yeah yeah, save it buddy." Jet stated.

"Sir, just watch, I saw that mess in the kitchen, wait here while I clean it up in a jiff." Pip stated as he ran off to the kitchen. There was a light banging and clanging sound but only took a few short minutes and Pip soon returned to the bridge and placed a sandwich in Jet's hand. "This is one of my specialties sir." Pip returned.

"Did you clean the kitchen or just make a sandwich?" Jet asked.

"Both sir."

Storm then walked over to Jet. "Are you gonna eat that?" He asked pointing at the sandwich.

"Yes I'm gonna eat it!" Jet yelled as he placed the sandwich to his beak. Jet's eyes went wind as his mouth melted at the taste of the sandwich. And with his mouth full he said, "okay shrew, you're hired."

"Good, now I must go to my shop and craft myself a new board!" Wave stated with a fair bit of excitement.

Wave had spent a few hours in her shop trying to rig up a new board for herself when she heard a knock on her door.

"Miss Swallow, I brought you a sandwich. I thought you might be rather hungry." Pip mentioned.

"That sounds great!" Wave said as she took the plate from Pip's hand.

"This is a rather nice shop Miss Swallow." Pip added. He walked over to a pile of partially constructed computer parts. "Miss Swallow, what exactly is this, if I may ask?"

"I'm trying to create a computer that can give us information on treasures and legends that we need to find, but I can't figure out how to get it to work."

"Well, if I may, I can work on it. Technology is one of my other areas of expertise."

"Here, let me help you, I don't want you to mess anything up."

"Very good madam."
