As the days go by, Felicity's heart breaks more and more. She hasn't slept in a week. The last time being when Oliver made manicotti for the family movie night. The same Oliver who told me he had to go fight some villain, had to go save the city. My husband told me he couldn't stay with me and our daughter and let someone else take care of it. The same husband that I haven't seen or heard from in a week.
Felicity sits on the couch mindlessly hearing the theme song of The Big Bang Theory play. A cup of chamomile tea growing colder in her hands. She hears a toilet flush then hears the water flowing in the sink. A minute later, she recognizes the soft padding of feet come closer to her. Her daughter, a smart, beautiful blond girl at just the age of 6, curls into Felicity's arms sniffling a little. "Can't sleep again?" the little girl says. Felicity replies "I'm okay honey. Don't worry. How about you? Another nightmare?".
Her daughter, named Olive after her dad Oliver, nods her head a little and scoots closer to her. Suddenly, Olive's small little voice says something that shakes her mother more than the girl will ever understand. "Is dad dead Mommy?" she says. Felicity shuts the TV off and goes to set the tea in the kitchen sink. Slowly making her way to the couch, she picks up Olive and carries her to her room. "I don't know honey. I hope not. I really believe he will come back to us soon. Pick us up in a hug and say he'll never go away again." Felicity says as she lays her daughter onto the bed and gets in with her. Wrapping her arms around her, she lulls her sleepy daughter to sleep by telling stories of how Oliver was during her pregnancy. Before Felicity falls asleep, she sees the picture of her and Oliver on their wedding day. "He's coming home" she whispers while closing her eyes.
