Ancient Crystal prt 2
The found themselves in a buried ancient Gigan city. The city was surrounded by dark rock walls and it was not exposed to sunlight. The city was crawling with bulging stone characters. They had light blue eyes and were made of teal stone.
"How could a city like this avoid being completely buried?" Jet asked.
"Surviving members of the civilization must have dug through all the ruins to create a new underground city! These ancient civilizations are very intelligent!" Wave stated.
Around that time, a large stone golem walked towards the Babylon Rogues and with a deep rustly voice said, "Intruders!" and it stared down at them.
"No, we are not intruders, we come in peace." Jet declared with his hands up in the air as he stepped in front of Storm and Wave. "We came here through the Hallow Cloud." He then stated.
The golem growled at them and raised his hand to welcome them to the city.
"See, all it takes is a little understanding." Jet stated with a smug smile on his face.
Wave just rolled his eyes and began walking through the underground city. "In a city like this, there must be all kinds of valuable artifacts we can snag." She suggested.
Storm was staring intently at a gold flashing object. "huh huh huh." Storm chuckled. "Hey boss, look at this!"
"That's just a street lamp Storm." Jet stated. Jet pulled Storm along as they began searching the city.
"My only question is will these golems care if we take artifacts from the city?" Wave pondered.
"How much you wanna bet?" Jet pegged.
"We better keep it quiet and quick. You got that Storm?" Wave said as both her and Jet stared at Storm waiting for a confirmation.
Storm nodded.
The trio began exploring the city, looking at different street vendors and decorative containers, trying to find any unique relics.
Wave began down a trail fallowing symbols similar to the one on her legend paper.
Storm started checking some vendors but wasn't exactly stealthy about it. A golem grabbed him.
"What are you doing, outsider?" the golem asked.
"I…I…I. I'm just searching for…" Storm started a reply when Jet rushed over and quickly interrupted.
"We're just exploring your hidden city. He was interested in some of that golem crafted jewelry." He fibbed.
The golem looked back at Storm and dropped him. "Be careful outsiders, we don't take kindly to thieves." The golem growled then he turned and walked away.
Wave continued following the stream of symbols to a small cove where she found a relic that matched the symbol on the legend. "Score!" She said to herself as she picked up the relic and placed it in her satchel. She managed to slip away without being noticed by golems who for the most part were busy about their own business.
"Storm, you go help Wave and I'll see if I can snag some of this jewelry." Jet stated as he got down on his knees and rifled through the stone container with the jewelry. He pulled out a handful and placed it in his satchel.
Although most of the golems didn't care, a few of them were watching the rogues almost constantly. Two of them started following Jet and Storm.
"Uhh, Jet, I think we're being followed." Mentioned Storm.
"Great! Let's find a cove quickly to hide in." Jet suggested. So they peeled off of their path to find a place to hide from the following golems.
Jet and Storm backed themselves into a dark cove hoping that the golems wouldn't be able to see them or be able to reach them in a smaller space. As they kept shuffling their feet backwards, Storm's foot kicked something that was lying on the ground.
"B…b…boss, look at this!" Storm interjected as he picked up a small electro style gun off the ground.
"Gimme that!" Jet demanded as he snatched it out of Storm's hands. Jet examined it for a minute or two. "Storm! I think this is a zap ray. They are really effective at destroying rocks and shorting out technology!" Jet exclaimed.
"But boss, the golems don't use technology." Storm muttered.
Jet began to growl. "But they're rocks!" Jet yelled.
Alarmed that Jet's yelling brought more attention to the cove they were hiding in, Jet and Storm decided to check to see if the coast was clear. They peaked their heads out and noticed two large golems standing there just waiting for them.
"Intruders!" one golem growled as they slowly reached down and tried to grab them.
"Boss, use that shocky thingy."Storm hollered.
Jet then reached up the zap ray and zapped one golem and it fell to the ground. Then he zapped the other one and it also fell to the ground. "Cool! I like this thing!"
"Can I give it a try?" Storm posed.
Jet pulled it close to him. "No, you'll probably shoot me or something." Jet stated.
Jet's attack on the two golems drew attention from more golems in the area. About 15 golems aimed their attention towards Jet and Storm and started chasing them down, although rather slowly.
"I think we've overstayed our welcome Storm. Let's go!" Jet stated as he pulled his board off his back and hopped on. Storm did the same thing.
Once they did this, the golems that were chasing them suddenly lifted off the ground. Their feet were propelled by some sort of jet force. Needless to say, they were much faster now than they were.
Wave, who was still not drawing attention to herself, continued carefully searching and sneaking unique items into her satchel. She even managed to scout out a large ring with a gold band and a huge blue diamond sticking out of the top of it. "Another score!" She said to herself. She suddenly heard some chaos from a few yards behind her. She quickly turned around and spotted Jet and Storm on their boards being chased by several hovering golems. "Oh no!" She cried as she placed her hands on her face. "Can't trust them to do anything simple." She said to herself. She could hear Jet calling her name and saying it was time to go. So she also hopped on her board and waited for them to catch up to her.
As Jet and Storm made their way toward Wave, they had to dodge many other golems carrying on with their business. Once they noticed what was going on, they too also began chasing down the rogues. Storm did his best to brush off a few with his fists. Jet used the zap ray to take down a few others. But no matter how many they took out, they kept on picking up a few more as they made their way towards Wave.
Jet and Storm had now caught up to Wave. "What did you guys do?" Wave asked.
"Well, I'll explain that to you later, right now let's just get out of here." Jet declared.
As they kept riding, they were soon blocked by a group of golems that were hovering right in front of them.
"You guys turn back quickly, I have an idea!" Jet hollered. As he popped out the zap ray and started zapping the golems that hovered in front of them.
Wave and Storm quickly turned around throwing the other golems off. With them being much heavier, they kept in motion and slammed into Jet and the front facing golems.
Both Wave and Storm's mouths dropped open as they were concerned about Jet. But soon after, Jet used his zero gravity stone to lift the crashed golems off of him and he sped out of the golem pile.
"Are you okay, Jet?" Wave asked.
Jet was holding his head while trying to stay balanced on his board. "I…I guess so." Jet stammered. He shook his head and they began to ride off thinking they were in the clear. But after a few minutes of riding, another group of golems came from the side. Most likely they came from a different part of the city. These golems had a different look to them. They were older golems that hadn't needed to be on the hunt for crime in probably thousands of years. They were security golems and they had mini lasers on their right arms and they began firing on the rogues.
"What the!" Jet yelled.
"Looks like we got more company!" Wave called.
"Watch yourselves!" Jet then yelled.
"What's the plan boss?" Storm asked.
"We should be able to get out of here the same way we got in; by circling the crystal." Wave stated.
Jet then pulled out his zap ray again and began zapping the security golems. These ones took too shots to take down. And he wasn't sure how long the charge for the zap ray would last. He still managed to take two of them down fairly quickly.
"What is that Jet?" Wave asked.
"It's a zap ray. I've heard stories about these being used to mine rocks in ancient days." Jet said.
The remaining security golems were still firing lasers at the rogues. And the rogues were still able to dodge them. Jet managed to take out another golem with the zap ray.
There were now only three security golems left and one shot a laser and managed to hit Storm's board which caused it to start slowing down. But not long after, Jet took out that particular golem with the zap ray.
"I like this thing a lot!" Jet called out. "Try to keep up Storm!"
One of the two remaining golems caught up along side Storm and tried to knock him off his board. But Storm gave the golem a solid pop with his fist and managed to knock the golem into one of the walls that surrounded the city.
"We're almost to the crystal! Everyone, get in position!" Wave called out as the rest of the rogues started for form into their circle. The remaining golem managed to join them in their circle.
As they circled the crystal, just like as they entered the city, light began to radiate from the crystal until they found themselves traveling through speed and time and they found themselves back in the round room with the Gigan god statues.
The golem had now grabbed hold of Jet as all four of them spun upward toward the trap door that would lead back to the Hallow Cloud.
Jet tried to shake off the golem and Storm also tried to pull the golem off of Jet. But there was no such luck as they all went crashing through the floor of the pub causing all sorts of chaos inside. The crash through the floor managed to shake the golem off of Jet. The three Babylon Rogues made way for the door on their boards with the golem following them on foot.
Once the golem got outside the pub, his jet thrusters were no longer able to support its weight so far off of the ground and it fell through the clouds plummeting to the ground.
Wave looked behind her. "I think we've lost him." She stated.
Storm's board was malfunctioning from the hit it took from the laser. He got off his board and Wave also joined him. Jet stayed on his board but kept back with his partners and they began to make their way back to their ship.
But as they made their way across the clouds, they stumbled upon a soft cloud unknowingly. Storm suddenly fell through. Jet and Wave gasped and panicked a moment. They were very high in the air so it would be awhile before Storm would hit ground.
Storm attempted to use his zero gravity setting on his board but it was too damaged to fire up quickly so he continued his free fall.
"Come on!" Jet shouted towards Wave as they both got on their zero gravity boards and raced off to try to catch Storm.
"Jet, neither one of us can carry Storm. We need a backup plan." Wave said.
"What did you have in mind?" Jet asked.
Wave grabbed her com device out of her bag. She pushed 3 buttons to fire it up and then she began to talk through it. "Pip, are you back at the ship?"
Pip was lounging in his chair on the bridge when he heard Wave come over the intercom. It startled him out of the chair. "Uhh yes madam. I have returned. I suspect you and the others are on their way back now?"
"Pip, we need you to fly the ship below the clouds, put it in full speed and go down. Storm in is a free fall and we need to catch him!" Wave said impatiently.
Pip jumped out of his chair and ran towards the captain's chair and fired up the ship and lifted it off the platform.
Wave and Jet were beginning to catch up to Storm and they surrounded him.
"Storm, don't worry, Pip's on his way!" Wave shouted.
Pip had soon arrived in the area where they were falling. He was trying to get a good view of the three rogues and he decided to let the ship fall further until he was sure he was beneath them. Then he flew the ship closer to their proximity and held it steady. "Madam, am I in the right spot?" Pip asked.
"Stay right there!" Wave demanded.
Pretty soon, Storm landed on the ship. Since the ship was basically part blimp, he bounced a few times and they nearly fell off but managed to grab a hold of an edge.
"Pip, land the ship. Storm's on top." Wave informed.
Jet and Wave kept circling around the ship making sure Storm didn't fall off as Pip began the landing cycle.
Storm was holding on for dear life as his friends tried to stay close to him. The ship was still far from landing and the air rushing as the ship pressed forward and down began to cause Storm to lose his grip a little bit.
"Hold on!" Jet yelled.
Storm regained his grip and began to climb up the side of the ship, he knew he could board the ship from a passage door on the top; and that's what he set out to do.
After several minutes of safely but quickly trying to land the ship, Pip finally got it landed safely in a green field. Jet and Wave trailed shortly behind gradually back to the surface. They circled around the ship a few times and couldn't find Storm.
"What… where's Storm?" Jet asked.
Pip soon exited the ship hoping to help with the situation.
"Pip, where's Storm?" Wave asked.
"Well madam, I thought he was holding onto the side of the ship." Pip said with a slight bit of confusion.
They began searching the nearby areas to see if they could find him anywhere but had no luck.
Hanging their heads they decided to let go of their search. As they got back on the ship, they could hear noises coming from the kitchen.
Jet and Wave looked at each other and then ran to the kitchen. There was Storm putting condiments away after making a rather messy sandwich.
"Storm, what are you already doing in here?" Jet asked with a bit of a scowl on his face.
"Making a sandwich. Pip, can you clean this up?" Storm replied.
"Of course Master Storm." Pip answered.
Wave and Jet then looked at each other again with grins on their faces and they ran up and hugged Storm.
"You big oaf, you just didn't listen did you." Wave stated as she hugged Storm.
Storm was rather confused by Jet and Wave's affection, he wasn't used to seeing this side of them. "S…so, what all did we find in that underground city?" Storm asked.
"Oh, just wait until I show you what all's in this bag!" Wave stated.
