"Why am I not surprised that you're here?"
"Wow, Nor. I think that's the closest thing to a greeting you've given me in years."
"Be quiet."
"You know you love me!"
"Let me get this right. We're here so we can go to a magic school to protect a boy from a big, bad, "dead" Dark Lord who, if we don't stop him, could potentially take over the world?"
"When you put it like that, it sounds unbelievable, Romania. This is what happens when you but off ties with your magical community. Take my advice, friends. It turns to shit," England deadpanned.
"How are we going to enter a school if we're physically adults? Even more so, how do we approach Harry Potter without being creepy?" Romania chuckled a bit. He was probably thinking of the scenario. Three adults trying to befriend a fourteen-year-ole would seem suspicious.
"That's why I acquired these from the Vault before I sent the letters," Scotland cut in from his side of the living room.
He held up three bracelets. Each one had a gem the color of one of the Magic Trio member's eyes.
"I had honestly forgotten about these," Norway said, grabbing the indigo colored accessory. "We haven't used these in decades."
"Wait! Are those the age stones? I thought these were only useable during emergencies?!"
England sighed, "Romania, you yourself pointed out that this guy could 'potentially take over the world.' I don't know what you classify as an emergency, but someone looking for world domination is definitely on my list."
The Romanian stuck his tongue out without a response.
"We should go for it. How young do we need to be?" Norway surprisingly agreed.
"I would say about thirteen or fourteen. It would be easier to be in contact with Potter if we were in the same year," England explained.
"…We don't have a real plan, do we?" Romania laughed sheepishly.
"Well… no," England confessed. "Allistair will check in with us occasionally, though. If we find anything, a plan will be set. Remember, this whole mission was only called as a precaution in response to possibly false rumors.
We've known for a while that Voldemort wasn't completely dead. We know what kind of damage can be caused if he rises to power once more. We cannot afford to ignore any signs! We need to get into the school one way or another! This is a matter of life or death!"
"Arthur's right. I would classify this as a mission of utmost importance. We do need a way to keep the other countries in check. Imagine if Denmark or America were to know of our were abouts," Norway said.
A pecking sounded from a misty window near the kitchen.
"Must be the daily post," Scotland mumble, getting up. He looked to England for permission. The Brit nodded.
The Magic Trio watched as he popped open the window just enough for a small owl to squeeze through. It circled around the room twice before dropping the letter on the table.
"Is the front cover of any interest, Scot?"
"Uh…"
"Scotland?"
The Scot didn't say anything other than a small curse under his breath.
He set the paper down on the coffee table in front of the trio.
"I think the rumors of Voldemort will be the least of your worries now that a serial killer is out for a certain Potter boy's blood."
Sure enough, on the front cover was a moving picture of Black.
"Sirius Black has escaped and is now out for revenge?!" England yelled, exasperated. "What next?"
"I gather that this makes our job much more complicated, ja?" Norway questioned.
"You have no idea."
And just like them, I also have no plan. Thankfully I don't have to deal with any Dark Lords, though.
Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this short chapter! I'm thinking of updating on a once of week (maybe twice) schedule. I'm doing this so I don't feel as pressured to post often. This helps the length and quality of the chapter immensely.
Thank you for reading!
