Sultan's Ring prt 1
The Babylon Rogues were getting their bags together while sitting on the floor of Jet's office. They were preparing to observe the relics and other valuable items they found in the underground Gigan city.
Most of what Jet had found was jewelry and he dumped out his bag of jewelry on the floor. Storm started picking up pieces and viewing them.
Wave dumped her bag out on the floor as well. "I actually managed to find several relics in the city. Like this one here." She said as she picked up some sort of symbolic relic. "I can do some research on the value of these relics and your jewelry and also maybe find out some information on what they are." Wave stated.
Pip walked by the office about to do some cleaning when he saw a familiar relic sitting on the floor. He gazed at it for a few minutes. He gasped and then ran into the room. "Do you all know about this relic here?" Pip asked as he picked up a large gold ring a large diamond sitting on top of the band.
"Hey, I remember finding that one!" Wave interjected.
"Well madam, it's a very interesting tale and important relic to another civilization." Pip mentioned.
"Well how did it get here?" Jet asked.
"I have no idea Master Jet." Pip declared. "However, it's incredibly valuable and powerful." He added.
"Well, what does it do?" Wave asked taking it from Pip's hand and admiring it.
"Well, let me take you back about 1000 years to a kingdom in a far away Shrew civilization. A Sultan who had two daughters, loved his oldest daughter more than the younger. The Sultan hired messengers to seek out suitors for his oldest daughter. Each of the messengers would brought back 2 male shrews each in order to win the daughter's hand. Not only did each suitor have to try to win the hand of the oldest daughter, but he also must win the approval of the Sultan. The Sultan dismissed many suitors, and each time he dismissed one suitor, the messenger had to go out and find two more suitors for the oldest daughter. The daughter was won over by many of the suitors but none of them could win the approval of the Sultan. The daughter was getting tired of her father dismissing her interests and she went to ask her father why he kept dismissing the suitors. The Sultan informed her that he loved her more than her sister and that he wanted her to find a suitor that would provide and protect her in the same way that he would protect her. When the daughter heard her father's words, she began to resent her father and started to reject every suitor that was brought to her. Her father began to get impatient with her. She began to conspire with her younger sister. They decided that the older sister should leave the kingdom and they would make it look as if she was dead. Once the plan was in action, the Sultan was distraught at the appearance of his favorite daughter's death. The younger daughter approached him with a suitor request similar to the one that her father had done for her older sister. The Sultan was not able to collect himself to do this so he hired a sorcerer to create a special gift for his younger daughter in order to show his gratitude for her and that would also help her in finding a suitor. The sorcerer crafted a large ring that could hypnotize those whom the power was afflicted on by the will of the one who wears the ring on their middle finger. The Sultan presented the ring to his younger daughter and sent her on her way. It is unclear as to where the Sultan's younger daughter went and how she used the ring. But with the appeared death of the oldest daughter, the Sultan gave up his kingdom. The tale says that the hypnotized victims can be instructed to do whatever the forcer wants. Many have sought out the ring and have tried to duplicate the power harnessed within the diamond. All who have tried, have failed."
All three Babylon Rogues just stared at Pip with surprised faces.
"I like that! I can use this the next time I come across that Sonic the Hedgehog." Jet exclaimed.
"I don't condone cheating Jet, but it can come in quite handy." Wave interjected.
"I agree!" Storm stated.
"We should still figure out what the rest of these relics are and what they're worth." Jet added.
"I'll take care of that. You guys get the rest of the relics in the bag and we'll take them to Margie later." Wave stated.
Jet handed Storm the ring. "Keep this safe!" Jet demanded.
Storm however, placed the ring in the relic bag. "Okay boss!"
Wave was doing some research on her computer about each relic that was found in the underground Gigan city. After a few hours, she was coming up to the last few relics.
Soon, she entered into Jet's office. "Okay, I'm ready." She stated.
Jet rolled his eyes. "Finally!" He exclaimed. "Storm, take us to Woodtown." Jet demanded.
"You got it boss!" Storm agreed giving Jet a thumbs up.
For a few hours, they flew to Woodtown. "Boss, we're above Woodtown now!" Storm declared.
"Excellent. Storm, grab the relic bag and let's go. Wave, grab your board!" Jet demanded as he slung his board on his back.
"Good luck to you!" Pip declared as the Babylon Rogues exited the ship.
There was a woodland festival going on in town, so the crowds were thicker than usual. Storm was gently pushing people out of the way so they could get through to Margie's hut.
"There are way too many people here today!" Jet said with a snarl on his face.
"It's the woodland festival. It's only for woodland creatures to celebrate their land and all these vendors help to boost their economy." Wave interjected.
"I know what it is, Wave." Jet said with annoyance.
While Wave and Jet were slightly arguing, someone bumped right into Storm, snagging the relic bag from him.
"H…Hey, you! Come back here!" Storm yelled as he darted after.
Wave and Jet just looked at each other and grabbed their boards and darted after Storm.
Storm was now pushing and shoving people out of his way. "Come back here you cow!" He yelled.
Jet and Wave swooped up with Storm. "Storm, what happened?" Jet asked.
"That stupid cow stole the relics." Storm mentioned.
"There!" Wave shouted seeing the cow's ears above the rest of the crowd.
Jet and Wave took off after the cow with Storm running behind them. The crowd started to panic slightly and started darting out of the way. Jet and Wave lost sight of the cow for a moment.
"Which way did he go?" Jet asked.
Wave scanned the area. "Hmm." And then she caught sight of him. "There!" She asked pointing in the direction of the cow. And they chased after the cow again.
Jet grabbed the zap ray from his side.
"Jet! What do you expect to do with that?" Wave asked.
"You'll see. Just be patient." Jet said. He gained and gained on the cow and zapped him knocking him down and he dropped the relic bag and they spilled out onto the ground.
Jet and Wave served up beside the cow and checked out the relics.
Storm soon met up with them panting. "Everything ok boss?" He asked.
Jet then began to think. "Storm, when I handed you the ring, where did you put it?"
Storm scratched his head with a puzzled look on his face. "Uhh, umm, I."
Just then Jet grabbed Storm's shoulders and began shaking him back and forth. "Well! Do you remember or not!" Jet growled.
"I…I…"
"Yes!"
"I put it in the bag for safe keeping. I thought that the best way to keep it safe was to keep it on me but I couldn't hold onto the ring and the satchel so I just put it in the satchel." Storm cried.
Jet screamed. "Ughh, you big dummy!" Jet then began searching the unconscious cow for the ring. "Where… where is it? It isn't here." Jet stated.
"Umm, boys, I think it's over there." Wave declared as she pointed at another cow several yards away intermixed in a large crowd.
"Go after him Wave!" Jet yelled.
As Wave started after the cow, she saw a deep green glow and a large dark winged ship lowered to the ground and noticed the cow hopped aboard. "He got on a large ship!"
"Ugh, let's go Wave. Storm, can you manage to actually pawn off the rest of these relics while WE go after this cow?" Jet asked.
"Sure can boss." Storm said with excitement.
"Good. Margie's hut is that way." Jet declared. "Then go back to the ship and wait for us."
Storm ran off with the relic bag as Jet and Wave raced after that ship.
"Wave, there's no way we can catch that ship." Jet stated.
"Are you doubting my mechanic skills? Wave asked.
"Wave, it's an intergalactic ship, there's no way we could catch it on any boards." Jet warned.
"Well you just wait and see!" Wave said with annoyance. She boosted ahead of Jet in order to prove her point.
Jet just rolled his eyes. Not long after, the ship boosted and was gone in seconds.
Wave then returned. "Don't even speak Jet." She demanded.
"So, do you have any idea how we're going to track down those cows?" Jet asked.
Wave smiled at Jet. "Oh, don't you worry. I have a plan."
"Hello! I'd like to be informed." Jet demanded.
"Fine, you see these? These are trackers. You push this button and throw it in the direction of the vessel and it follows it no matter how fast it's going. Now I just have to get a look at the transceiver back on our ship and we'll figure out exactly where they went."
"And you created these in that shop of yours?" Jet asked.
"Of course I did! Why, do you doubt me?" Wave asked.
"No, I think you're a genius. Now let's get back to the ship." Jet demanded.
MEANWHILE:
The dark winged ship was arriving at a tall metal structure. Sort of looked like a round disc on a pedestal. The structure was around 200 feet tall. The ship landed on a small platform outside of the round building at the top. There were two cows that got out of the ship and one of them was carrying the ring.
"Sie boss will give us a huge promotion once he sees the ring." said a cow who's bangs covered his eyes.
"Yes Porky, he shall reward us quite well I should think." Said the other cow. "But do you think we should tell him that Hayward won't be returning?"
Porky laughed. "Sie boss knew the risks when he sent him on that mission."
Both cows chuckled as they walked into the layer.
They both finally made it to their bosses layer. He was sitting in a swivel chair facing a large but narrow window that stretched all the way around the room.
"My minions, how'd it go?" He said as he spun around to face the other two. He was a chubby red bull with horns above his ears and a gold ring through his nose.
"Oh, umm, yessir." Porky stuttered. "Here's the ring of the Sultan." Porky said as he searched himself looking for the ring.
"Umm, actually I have the ring Porky." Said the other cow who's name was Frank. "Here you go Thunder." Frank said as he handed the ring to Thunder.
Thunder took the ring in his hands and admired it with awe. "Oh, goodness. I've never seen such a beautiful piece in my entire life. My mother and father spent their whole lives looking for this artifact; and now, it's mine, all mine!" Thunder stated as he clenched the ring in his hands.
"Yessir, it will go well with that wonderful nose ring you got there." Porky ignorantly stated.
"This ring isn't for glamour, Porky. It's for control, which as we all know, is what I should be doing." Thunder declared.
"But Mr. boss, you're already in control." Porky said.
Thunder rubbed his forehead. "The rest of the cows are too clumsy and stupid to follow my commands as I wish, this ring will ensure that they will follow my commands to the letter."
"Good thing you have me as your right hand cow Mr. boss man." Porky stated with a goofy smile on his face.
"Oh, yes, I think we can all be grateful for that, my friend." Thunder said sarcastically.
"Sir, what's that outside your window?" Frank asked.
Thunder spun around in his chair to face the window. "Ahh, well would you look at that! It looks like a flying tracking device of some kind. We'll make short work of its existence." Thunder stated as he pressed a button on the side arm of his chair and an electric arm on the outside of the building reached out and zapped Wave's tracker with an electric shock that deactivated it. "I think it's safe to say, we'll have company soon. We'll have to put our plan into action sooner rather than later."
"Oh, shall Frank and I go put on our Sunday best?" Porky asked.
"Anything that will get you out of my sight right now would be great Porky." Thunder angrily stated.
"Great! Come on Frankie, we have company to prepare for!" Porky said as he and Frank walked out of Thunder's office.
Thunder just rubbed his forehead again and sighed.
