Dear Lin Chung,

It is Lady Green. I suppose this is unexpected, but I feel like I should do something other than twiddle my thumbs while the others are taking a break.

Do you remember what happened last week? We were in battle, in front of Big Green. Highroller had combined with Bearstomp, and had attempted to strike down Big Green. But you got hit instead. I don't think I had ever seen so much blood when Bearstomp's blade sliced straight into you. Highroller actually looked petrified. For a second there, I actually saw him as a child instead of as a warlord that made many people suffer.

Red-Faced Kwan was the first one to reach you, I think. It's all a blur to me now. I remember someone had gotten to you, and was performing CPR. You weren't conscious. And then…and then Woo had them place you on a stretcher, placed an oxygen mask over you.

It was odd seeing you like that. You were…are the leader of Big Green, whether or not you deny it. Everyone was scared. Jumpy and Mystique Sonia were crying. Everyone else was busy capturing Bearstomp and Highroller. Rumour has it that Apetrully is going to call a trial for Highroller, and the penalty might be death.

I don't know anything anymore. I'm probably the only one awake here in Big Green, sitting next to you. You're just…lying there. I can barely see your chest move up and down. Woo and Wu Song barely managed to save you, but they had to put you in a coma.

Please wake up soon. Everyone doesn't know what to do.

Please.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

It has been about a month or so since you were put in this coma. Highroller had been charged manslaughter - the man is barely recognisable. He was so upset. He wouldn't stop begging and crying about how he didn't mean to hurt you.

No one believes him. But I think he is genuine. What would you have done? I think you would've forgiven him. Because you're that sort of person. The only one who still offered Bearstomp and the Zebra Brothers a chance to join Big Green over and over again.

Speaking of which, Bearstomp and the Zebra Brothers have been helping us gain the trust of the other animal Kings and Queens. They have been surprisingly resourceful. I think they're as shocked as all of us.

I don't know what else can be said…I don't think First Squad is handling your absence well. Jumpy was considering quitting, from what I heard. I hope that they pull through. I hope that you pull through. Please pull through.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Things aren't going very well at Big Green. Although things have been going surprisingly well with us trying to regain control over Hidden Kingdom with help from the Animal Kingdoms, things within Big Green aren't as…peaceful as things should be.

First Squad is getting into a lot of trouble. They're…having trouble connecting with lots of the Animal Kingdoms. I guess you had more of a role to do that than we all thought. They're getting into fights with Second Squad, snapping at everyone…I guess it's understandable, but very few people understand it.

I understand it. I know you do too.

Please wake up. We need you back here. Making sure everything goes smoothly, even without the credit.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

The Air Force lost another fight today against one of the bird Kingdoms. We know it's not their fault - they didn't have you. Master Chou still refuses to let anyone onto the rockets unless they pass the test. Kowloon nearly succeeded, but he failed too.

I think I would be able to make it, but water has always been my domain. I don't even know why I'm telling you this, but I think…maybe if you can see just how bad things are, you'll come back to us. We still see you everyday. Well, I do. I don't know about the others.

According to Woo, the longer you're in a coma, the less chance you have of waking up. Please wake up and come back to us.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Mighty Ray stopped visiting you. He and Mystique Sonia got into a big fight yesterday. The Commander put them both under house arrest for a week.

Yan Ching and I are being considered for First Squad.

What do you think?

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Mighty Ray has finally decided to leave Big Green. He promised he'd be back, but…I don't know how much of this we can take. Yan Ching accepted his place.

Which means if I accept, I would be accepting your place. I don't want to do that. I'm thinking of saying no, but…the truth is…I have been doing fairly well on my own lately with the Animal Kingdoms. Do you think I should do it?

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

I have finally accepted the position in First Squad. I hope I can do you proud.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

It has been six months since you were put in a coma, and you still show no signs of waking up. First Squad and I went and made friends with the Woodpeckers and Flamingoes. I think you would've doe better than we did.

We all miss you.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

More Warlords have come to encroach on Hidden Kingdom. We stopped a group at the borders just yesterday. We captured a few of them.

Guess what, Lin Chung? The only reason they had bothered to attack was because they heard you were out of commission. I guess your reputation is heard of further than just Hidden Kingdom.

I saw Kowloon coming to see you yesterday. I now know that you had taken a hit meant for him. Except that Highroller slipped and what was supposed to be non-fatal turned out to be deadly. He was crying by your bedside.

Please come back. Please.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Happy birthday. Mighty Ray came to visit you. We all brought you presents and made you cards. Even the Commander. Everyone sang happy birthday and we baked you a cake.

I wish you were awake. The cake was vanilla flavoured. I'm told it was your favourite flavour.

Happy birthday, Lin Chung.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

I'm not too entirely sure why I'm still writing to you. You have now been in a coma for a year now. People have been talking about pulling the plug on the life-support you have. First Squad fought against the decision. So did I.

It's funny. Even when I'm part of First Squad, I don't see myself as part of it. I guess everyone's memory of it is with you in it. Even Yan Ching has trouble responding to the title of a member of First Squad.

You're still lying there. Mystique Sonia cut your hair. It's to your chin now. It looks good on you. I think you might want to keep it like that. You're growing thinner as well. I can see your cheekbones and how sunken your eyes are.

Seeing you this way…you're not supposed to be this way.

We miss you.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

I'm sorry I haven't wrote to you in such a long time. We've been busy keeping the Warlords at bay and making our reputation known.

Mighty Ray came back. I quit First Squad. You've been in a coma for a year and a half. It's your birthday in two months. I hope you wake up before then.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

The rumours are true…they intend to pull the plug on you. Apparently, this equipment is only available for one person for two years. Even veteran First Squad leaders who is the reason Hidden Kingdom is in one piece.

Highroller was released yesterday on parole. He came to see you. Under supervision, of course. He apologised to you. Did you hear it?

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Happy birthday. It has been one year and seven months. It's your birthday again. I feel like you should wake up today, to prove all those doubters wrong, to prove that you're still alive and you can still hear us. I wished I could've written to you more often now that I know.

I hope you can hear us now. We celebrated your birthday again. Newer Animal Kings and Queens didn't know why we were celebrating the birthday of a coma former warrior. Cheetah King and Queen nearly scratched out the eyes of Jaguar King when he had scoffed at the idea of making you a cake.

He's fine now. In the infirmary at the opposite end of Big Green. To our logic, he doesn't deserve to be near you. He keeps on saying that you'll never wake up and you're as worthless as Highroller.

Wake up and prove him wrong.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Today was the day that the Commander finally remodelled your room. He didn't let anyone sleep in it, of course. Your friends would've killed him. It's now being used as the base for First Squad. The original base is now used as a bedroom.

What are we, Lin Chung? Did you consider me a friend? I think I consider you a friend.

I wish I had gotten to know you better.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Woo announced that they were pulling the plug on you in a month unless you showed signs of waking up. Eyes flickering under lids, fingers twitching, movement, a sound, anything.

We've been watching you closely, Lin Chung. Please wake up.

Big Green isn't the same. It's full of arrogant warriors who trod down on you, who see you as nothing more than an odd eccentric man with grey hair who is in a coma. They don't see what we see. They didn't know what it felt like to be one of your friends. To fight alongside you. To earn your trust.

They don't know you.

We know you.

So wake up for us.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

They are pulling the plug on you next week. Many animals and new members of Big Green were caught celebrating.

They were expelled from Big Green, etiquette be damned.

We don't even know why they would be celebrating when you had made so much yet so little difference in their lives.

Please wake up. We need you. We may be successful, but it's not...us anymore. Who knew that you were the person holding all this together? All of us different unique people here at Big Green. You never judged us, not like they did, not like they are. You accepted us for who we are and adapted to be friends with us.

Without you with us, we're growing distant from one another.

Big Green feels more like a military base and less like a home, a family.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

I went around yesterday and today to collect signatures and notes from all the original members of Big Green, both animal and human alike. They all signed something. Some of them might be illegible, but it's nice that they tried for you.

They're planning your funeral, but I'm not a part of it.

Please wake up, Lin Chung. Just one more miracle. Just move your fingers, open your eyes, anything. Do it tomorrow, and there'll still be a chance you can wake up to see us.

Lady Green

Dear Lin Chung,

Your funeral is today. Everyone is dressed in black. I'm dressed in black. You've been dressed in black as well. Mystique Sonia cut your hair again and made you look the best she could, but you're still too thin, too sunken, too breakable in your coffin.

I hope you don't mind that it was an open casket funeral. It was only for those original Big Green members and any who still respected you. Tien Kwan came today. It was a shock to see the man most people thought you were making up show there himself. He was crying.

I always wondered whether you would like to be cremated and have your ashes scattered. I would like to. Have them scatted over the ocean.

I wish you the best of luck in the other life, and I hope to see you again someday.

With love,
Lady Green
