The A-shift started their shift as they always did. They took care of various things in the station, doing inventories and such. The afternoon went by slowly, without even a house call. By 8pm, they were all in the beanery. Maya had come to help Andy and Vic prepare dinner. Travis, Jack and Dean were sitting at the table, sharing a drink waiting for the food to arrive.

"Do you guys really think you can just sit around and do nothing, while we're cooking?" Maya asked in a teasing tone. Ever since she had made peace with her best friend, she had become more comfortable being the captain, enjoying spending time with her colleagues just like she did before she got her new title.

"We did the cooking last shift and we cleaned the locker room and the beanery today." Dean answered, pointing a finger at her.

"Yeah right. Just come and get the food." Vic said, bringing plates to the table.

They all sat down, talking about everything but the fact that they still had not gotten a call. They knew these days were few and they did not want to jinx it. They were laughing in the middle of dinner, laughing hard at some story Travis had just told when the Battalion Chief entered the beanery.

"19." He said with a smile, nodding at them while heading for the fridge.

Various "chief" were answered from the table. They had quickly sobered up, still not used to their chief coming more often in the beanery when they were there, and especially while they were eating.

"Hmm…Do you want to join us, chief?" Maya asked awkwardly.

"I'm good, thanks." He said holding up his smoothie.

"You can't just have that for dinner." Andy blurted out.

"You have a problem with that lieutenant?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow, the corner of his lips moving up a little, just enough for Andy to notice it.

"I…Uh…I mean…" She couldn't concentrate when he was looking at her like that. And when he called her by her title, it always made the butterflies fly in her stomach and all.

"You should just sit down with us." Vic saved her friend, throwing her a weird glance.

Sullivan hesitated a minute or two before joining them at the table. He was glad to see that the only place available was next to Andy. They all sat in a heavy silence, slowly digging in their food.

"So… You do eat." Travis broke the silence.

"I do." Robert answered, not quite sure what he was supposed to say next. "I just like to let you have your time to relax…"

"Doesn't mean you can't come relax with us." Jack pointed out.

"Or eat." Added Vic.

"I suppose. I just feel like you're more at ease when you get to rest and joke around without your chief in the way." He explained, discreetly reaching under the table to grab Andy's hand when he noticed that it was not resting on the surface. She was caught off guard by the gesture, but somehow managed to keep a straight face, not even turning her head to look at him.

"Well, it's nice to see you're human too," Dean said before taking a mouthful of salad.

They stayed at the table, talking and laughing for a few more minutes before the chief excused himself, heading back to his office. The rest of the team got up to clean the table and put away the remaining food. They then made their way to their bunks. Shift was not over, but they still had to get rest while they could.

Mind still going over the fact that Sullivan had held her hand while sitting at the beanery table surrounded by her friends, Andy decided to take a shower to clear her head, before trying to get some sleep. She headed in her usual cabin, glad to see that she was alone. "They must have all gone to bed already." She thought as she turned on the tap. She let the hot water run over her body, closing her eyes, head turned up to face the showerhead. She was trying to think about nothing, so focused she did not hear the shower curtain move. That is why she jumped a little, barely holding in a cry of surprise, when she felt too arms wrap around her from behind, pulling her so that her back met a strong firm chest.

"Shh." Was whispered in her ear. "It's me."

"Robert?" she asked in a whisper.

"Yeah…Were you waiting on someone else?" he chuckled lowly in her ear.

"No!" she said, turning back in his arms to face him. "You shouldn't be here."

"I know…" he said simply, bending down to kiss her lips.

"Robert…" she managed to say before succumbing to his sweet assaults.

They kissed for a while, letting the water flow over their bodies. If you asked Andy, Robert's hands were touching all of her body at the same time. It was like he could not get enough of her, he needed to touch her face, her back, everywhere he could reach. She could only get lost in his touch and his kisses. However, her hands were quite busy too, one exploring the surface of his back while the other was following the muscles of his chest as he moved. At some point, they had managed to wash each other, taking great pleasure in making sure that soap had covered the other's whole body. When the water started to run cold, Andy opened her eyes, leaning her head back to look at his face.

"We…We should stop…" She said, slightly out of breath.

"Right…" he answered clearing his throat. "I guess we got lucky no one decided to shower at the same time as we did." He said cockily.

"Shut up and take that delicious body out of here." She told him, throwing him his towel. He laughed at her as he put his clothes back on. He left as soon as he was dressed, turning back just once to wink at her. She shook her head at him, deciding to wait a bit before exiting the shower. She had not taken clothes with her, so she did not want to raise any suspicions by exiting the shower only wrapped in a towel at the same time as the Battalion Chief. It was weird enough that the chief was even showering there.

Andy went to her bunk and changed into more comfortable clothes. She got into her bed, pulled the covers over her body. She moved around trying to find a good position to sleep. After five minutes she figured that it was useless. She laid there, on her back, hands folded over her belly, eyes staring at the ceiling. She stayed in that position for two minutes before she had enough. Sighing loudly, she pushed the covers, got up, grabbed her zip-up hoodie and opened the door. She made her way through the corridors, only realizing that she was barefoot once she was halfway to her destination.

The door was closed when she arrived, blinds closed, so she knocked softly. Andy waited for an answer, but it never came. Hand already on the handle, she did not wait any longer, she entered the office, making sure to lock the door behind her.

"Hey," she said softly.

"Hey, are you ok?" he asked immediately, eyebrows furrowed in worry. Robert had been sitting behind his desk, trying to concentrate on his paperwork when he heard her enter the office.

"Yes, I'm fine, don't worry." She smiled at him. "I knocked but you didn't answer." She added.

"I'm sorry, I didn't hear it. This paperwork will be the death of me, and I barely started cause…You know…" He sighed, leaning back in his chair. He watched her as she moved around the desk to get closer to him, stopping to sit on the edge of his desk. "Wanna tell me what's wrong?" he insisted, hands folded on his lap.

"Nothing's wrong." She said, looking down at the floor.

"Come on," he said. She was close enough so that he could put a hand on her thigh. The soft touch made her look up at him. "You're usually trying your very best not to come here. You're pretty adamant about not mixing our relationship and the job. And I know I already pushed a button by coming in the showers with you… I love that you came here but I also know that there's something going on with you."

"I…" she looked him in the eyes, trying to tell him what she could not form into words. It had been their secret way of communicating for so long that he understood right away. He moved the hand he had on her thigh to grab her hand, pulling lightly on it so that she moved to sit on his laps. As soon as she was sitting, she made herself comfortable, tucking her head under his chin, her hand moving naturally to rest over his heart. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to him. They stayed in that position for some time.

"I was missing you." She finally said in a soft whisper, scared that if she talked louder it would break the comfortable silence.

"Oh really? We were together barely an hour ago." He said in a teasing tone.

"Shut up." She answered, swatting his chest.

"Ouch, you hurt me." He said, grabbing the hand she had used to slap him. He brought it to his mouth and kissed it softly. The gesture made her look up at him. Their eyes locked, engaging once again in their secret conversation. It only lasted a minute before Andy leaned in closer, placing her lips over his. They kissed gently at first, but it quickly escalated to a full make-out session. Before she knew it, Andy was perched on the edge of the desk, Robert standing between her legs. She wrapped her arms even tighter around his body as his kisses became more forceful and she wanted to kiss back with as much love as he was giving her. One of his hands was high on her thigh, holding her in place while the other moved all over her body. It caressed her face, her hair, her back, her breasts. Andy could never tell where he was touching her, she just felt like her whole body was on fire. She did not even notice when he pushed the zip-up hoodie off her shoulders, or when it fell on the floor, behind the desk.

"Bunk." She managed to say when he started kissing her neck.

Too busy worshipping her body, he could simply nod his answer. He moved his other hand back to her thigh, grabbing her gently yet forcefully, hoisting her up in his arms. Acting on instinct, she wrapped her legs around his waist, arms around his neck, holding tight while kissing his neck. The kisses were so distracting that Robert had quite a hard time getting them to his bunk. Somewhere in the haze of it all, he remembered to close the door behind them. Then, he guided them blindly to the bed and bent down to lay her gently on the mattress. He hovered over her, leaving just enough distance between them for him to grab the hem of her shirt. He pulled it over her head before she reciprocated the gesture, letting his shirt fall on the floor next to hers. As soon as the fabric hit the floor, she put her hands back on his body, letting her fingers both caress the planes of his chest and scratch gently the skin on his back. Soon enough, his hands were on the waistband of her pants, pulling at it. When the sweatpants were out of the way, Andy thought it was only fair that he lost his sweatpants too. After the garment was taken off, Sullivan shifted them on the bed so he could have better access to her body.

By the time they were done exploring each other's body, they were exhausted. Sullivan was now lying on his back, Andy cuddled up close to his side. Her head was resting on his shoulder, nose touching the crook of his neck, a leg placed in between his, an arm placed across his torso. Robert had placed his hand on that arm, while the other was wrapped around her body, holding her close to him, making sure she would not fall. That hand kept alternating between rubbing her arm and shoulder and brushing her hair.

"So…You were missing me? Shower got you here?" he said casually.

"Shut up," she smiled back at him.

"Is that how you were planning to keep us secret?" he teased back.

"Stop it!" she said, moving her arm so she could softly slap his chest.

"What? I'm just saying I love how you're trying to hide us. You're usually much better at it." He stated.

"Well, usually, you don't come eat with us in the beanery, and you certainly don't hold my hand while we talk with our friends." She retorted.

"They couldn't even see that we were holding hands."

"I knew it!" she said moving her head a little so she could look into his eyes.

"OK, sorry."

"It's ok," she said, placing her head back in the space between his neck and shoulder.

"You know we will have to tell them at some point." He told her, his hand smoothing her hair.

"I know…I'm just not ready yet." She answered in a quiet voice.

"I get it, but Dixon knows so why not your friends?" he inquired.

"I don't know…But we will tell them soon. I promise." She said, leaning in to kiss him on the lips.

"If they don't discover it first…I mean, you sleeping in here will surely tip them off." He explained with a smile.

"I guess it wasn't a smart move." She agreed.

"I'm glad you came here. I haven't seen you all shift, I was missing you. Shower time didn't help."

"I missed you too. And it's kinda your fault if I ended up here."

"Oh, really now?" He said amused.

"Yes. After the shower, I was in my bunk getting ready for bed. Was even under the covers, but I couldn't get you off my mind. That shower was not enough time together. I wanted to have a few more kisses before going to sleep." She paused a bit, feeling a little unsecure revealing all her secret feelings. She knew they were married and everything, but it did not mean that it was easy to be so open. However, that pause made her realize that, actually, it was easy. It had always been easy with him, so she continued. "I wanted to rest, but thanks to that make-out session in the shower, I wanted more alone time with you…And then I wanted to sleep surrounded by my husband's smell and wrapped in his arms." She blushed a little at what she had just admitted.

Next to her, Robert was filled with pure joy as she explained why she had come to him that night. Maybe it had been a good idea to join her in the showers after all. He looked at her with a look of pure love. He put a hand on her cheek, his thumb gently brushing her cheekbone. He took some time to look in her eyes, silently expressing all the love he felt for her.

"I'm glad I married you." He stated before leaning in for a kiss. She leaned into the kiss, but both were exhausted by their previous activities, so they didn't let it go too far. The fact that they were squeezed together in the bed in his bunk helped them remember that they could not have as much sexy time as they wanted to. That's why they kissed once more before Andy laid back down, hiding her face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his familiar scent. Robert caressed her shoulder, kissed the top her head, nuzzled her hair a little, smelling the familiar shampoo scent before resting his head on top of hers.

They stayed in that position quietly for what seemed like forever. They were almost asleep when the alarm went off. Disentangling themselves, they quickly got to their feet. They both pulled their pants back on and grabbed their shirts. Momentarily forgetting where they were, they naturally made their way out the door. Though they met their friends in the corridor, they did not seem to notice that they had exited the chief's office together, more focus on the sound of the alarm and the information given over the speakers. It was not until they reached their gear waiting for them at the trucks that someone spoke up.

"So, you're Battalion chief now?" Maya asked teasingly.

"What?" Andy asked, incomprehension written all over her face.

"That's the chief's shirt." Maya answered, pointing at the logo on the shirt. "And it's way too big for you."

"Oh," Andy said looking down at her shirt. She turned to look at Sullivan who was standing next to the aid car, close enough to overhear the conversation. When their eyes met, they had one fast conversation before Andy turned back to look at her best friend. "Right, my husband is taller than me, and it looks like I grabbed the wrong shirt." She answered as if it was the most natural thing in the world. With that, she got into the truck, while Maya gaped at her following her into the vehicle.

They got back from their call a few hours later. They changed out of their attire and the girls moved up to the beanery. As the women were working on snacks and coffee, Maya casually broke the silence.

"So, Andy's married…"

"She's what now?" Vic exclaimed. She had been sitting at the table, head in her arms, but she picked her head up as soon as the words left Maya's mouth.

"I thought you had forgotten about that." Andy mumbled, bending her head down. It was a good thing she was facing the counter to make the coffee. Though she was feeling confident when they had left on call, she was now lacking that confidence, feeling shy.

"She's married." Maya repeated.

Vic simply stared at Andy's back. When Herrera turned around, she looked at her friends.

"Can we not talk about that now, please?"

"Talk about what?" asked Travis as he, Jack and Travis entered the room.

"Andy's married." Vic blurted out.

"Vic!" Andy shouted as the boys turned their heads in her direction, completely speechless. If she was not terrified, Andy would have laughed at the faces they were making.

"Who?" Vic said, not fazed by Andy's reaction.

"I mean, look at her shirt. Don't tell me that none of you noticed that it's way too big for her. And can't you see that nice little chief insignia here?" she said pointing at the print on the shirt.

"No way!" Dean exclaimed.

Just then, Robert Sullivan arrived in the beanery. He stopped dead in his tracks when he took in the scene before him. Vic was sitting at the table, the boys were gathered around the kitchen island, Maya next to the fridge and Andy in the corner, next to the sink. His eyes met Andy's for only a second, but it was enough for him to see she was scared and feeling uneasy.

"Am I interrupting something?" he asked with a small frown.

Instead of a verbal answer, he watched as Travis, Jack and Dean turned to look at him, then back at Andy and then back at him. Their mouths opening and closing as they moved.

"The chief?" Travis said in a strangled cry.

Andy looked down at the floor. She never saw Sullivan move to her side. However, the rest of the team watched him walk to their friend. They watched as he tenderly placed an arm around her waist, tucking her close to his side. They watched as he bent his head to whisper something in her ear.

"It's okay, don't be scared." Is what he told her. This made her look up at him, forcing a small smile on her face. He nodded at her, letting her decide what she wanted to do next. She smiled a little wider and turned back to face her friends, her hand still holding the back of his shirt tightly.

"Yes, we got married about a month ago." She said, waiting worriedly for her friends' reactions. "Cause we're in love."

"Wow." Was Dean answer.

"I'm sorry we never told you before…With my dad and…Well I was not ready." She tried to explain, only reassurance coming from her husband's hand rubbing her back.

"Well bring the coffee and the food over here, and tell us everything about married life, girl." Vic said from her place at the table.

Andy heaved a sigh of relief. She knew she had a lot of explaining to do, but she was glad that they did not look so mad at her. They moved to the table, and they talked a little about how and when they had gotten married. The team was little disappointed that they had not been invited to the wedding, but with the explanations they were given, they understood that it had happened fast and there was no time.

After a whole hour of talking, Andy felt a little better. It was almost the end of their shift, so they got up and cleaned the table.

"Congratulations." Said Travis as he went to hug her. He was soon followed by Vic, Dean and Maya who did the same thing. Last was Jack. He threw a glance in Sullivan's direction, not sure what he knew about his and Andy's relationship, but it did not help much. He still decided to act and was the last one to hug and congratulate Herrera.

"I'm happy if you're happy." He told her before letting go. Andy smiled back at him in answer, before looking back at Sullivan, a silent way to tell him that he did not need to feel jealous. Indeed, though he looked normal, Andy could feel the jealousy vibes coming from him.

"Congratulations, chief." They said awkwardly, not quite ready to hug him.

"Thanks." He said with a bright smile. "Now, shift's practically over, let's move people."

They nodded in answer, making their way to the locker rooms, Robert and Andy walking with them. Just before they got the lockers, Robert took a hold of Andy's hand, pulling her a little so she would stop walking. She turned to look back at him.

"It went well."

"It did." She answered, not quite sure what he wanted to say.

"And you do look nice in that shirt. You can keep it, love." He added, winking at her. He kissed her hand, then turned around and walked to his office. Andy watched his retreating back shaking her head. It had not gone so wrong indeed. "I do love him…But damn that shirt." She thought as she entered the locker room where her friends were chatting happily about the newest gossip. She smiled at that, even though she knew she was the subject of the gossip. "Damn that man." She thought before she started answering the questions her friends were asking her. "Secret revealed because I couldn't keep my hands to myself. He'll never let this go."

To those who arrived at the end of this shot…I'd love to read your thoughts about it, hope you enjoyed
