The Prodigal Knight
Adenn
The bridge of the flagship, Adenn was quiet. Not even the Officers or Ensigns dared to move a muscle as he stared out across the stars, arms clasped behind his back.
He knew why.
They were waiting on bated breath for him to issue the command that would change everything, the death of the Republic and rise of something new.
Revan knew this and revelled in it.
How far he had come; once their fearless Commander and now something more. The devotion he inspired in them had only increased throughout the war changing as he changed until now they would volunteer for death if only he'd ask. Turning his head he looked down at them their various terminals and control panels lighting up their faces. Displaying no emotion, which would not have been noticed due the hooded Beskar mask that covered his face, he looked toward the door at the opposite end of the room which would open any second, revealing his apprentice.
The door slid open as a figure draped in a dark blood red cloak stood for a moment silhouetted by the light of the corridor beyond. Malak began advancing toward him his features becoming clearer to Revan as he approached.
How he had changed during the war.
He was taller than Revan and more muscular, his bald head adorned with two thick stripes tattooed before they left on their crusade which seemed so long ago. They had been friends then with a bond so strong Malak had been the first to join him in answering the threat of the Mandalorians. Now however he was his apprentice and his metallic jaw that covered his voice box came as a result of his recklessness and insubordination, daring to challenge him. The scorch marks around the prosthesis was still evident and there was no mistaking these particular marks had come from a Lightsaber, Revan's Lightsaber.
Malak stopped short of his master and took a knee as he bowed.
"Master, reports from our spies in the senate indicate that they are not expecting an attack" Malak's electronic voice spoke
"I am unconvinced. We have been careless." Revan replied an air of indifference in his tone indicating for Malak to stand
"My Lord, I assure you that our spies in the senate—" replied Admiral Zelem as he appeared behind Malak and flanked around toward Revan's side.
"Do you think I care what your spies in the senate say? If Coruscant was home only to the senate it would have fallen weeks ago. No, the Jedi are bound to know something after you let those traitors return to the council with their tails between their legs." Revan's tone raised slightly but remained calm and controlled.
"We attack now. Admiral Zelem inform Admiral Karath that the fleet is to mobilise within the hour" As he said this the bridge around Revan became loud and busling once more, all but Malak who stood looking down slightly at Revan.
"Something on your mind Darth Malak?" Revan asked although his voice suggested he knew Malak's inner thoughts
"I know you would have us obliterate Mandalore but I assure you the Mandalorians are no more of a threat to us than those fools down in the senate. Do not forget that it was I who brought you up and gave you a taste of power. It would be foolish to break now while we have our boots at the republics throat. Go." Revan gestured to the door and turned once again toward the blackness of space.
"Yes, Master" Malak said but Revan knew what he meant.
"Captain prepare my ship. Inform a squad of fighters to leave before as to test any resistance before we arrive."
As the Adenn dropped out of hyperspace, the scene appeared quiet. The Leviathan appeared shortly after and as the Republic cruisers turned to face the enemy and fire, Revan had already began heading toward his ship.
