Nami felt nauseous. Dizzy. She couldn't seem to find her equilibrium, couldn't tell if she was lying on her back or her stomach. Everything was topsy-turvy. And smelly. She opened her eyes, wondering. Even with her eyes open, everything seemed weird. Blurred. This didn't seem like her room, but she wasn't sure where she actually was. She heard voices that seemed hollow, far away, and unfamiliar. She tried to sit up, but retched suddenly, and felt a terrible pain in her head. Maybe I need to lie down a little longer. Nami closed her eyes and fell back asleep.
Luffy tried to pound his fist in frustration, but the sea prism shackles kept his arms bound tightly. He'd yelled to Nami as she started to stir, but she didn't seem to hear him. She had a huge red and purple swelling on her head—she must have hit it really hard. At any rate, something was wrong. Something was really really wrong.
Luffy's arms and legs were clamped firmly; he and Nami were on a smaller boat, barely larger than a dinghy, piloted by a couple of huge oafs with bloodthirsty grins. And speaking of blood, there was a pretty big stain on the floor near Luffy's feet, complete with some gristly bits that made him think something awfully bad had happened here recently.
How he and Nami had gotten here exactly, Luffy wasn't sure. He remembered feeling cramped and constricted, woke up on board a strange boat, saw right away that Nami was hurt and that he himself could barely move…and saw those two men. They seemed familiar. Luffy was sure he'd seen them before, but when he asked, they'd stayed infuriatingly silent. Luffy struggled against the manacles. Nami needed help; she looked really hurt…and he was starving. None of the other crew members were here. Had there been a battle? Was there any chance that he and Nami weren't in real trouble—could this be something other than how it appeared?
As the small craft moored up to a dock, Luffy's blood ran cold. He knew exactly where he was. Ellep Town. The same place where they'd gone to get Robin back. Luffy turned his head slowly toward their captors. He knew where he recognized them from. They were two of the guards at that place that had run away just as the fighting started. They were two of the people involved in hurting Robin…Luffy lunged toward them in a growl, startling both men with his vehemence.
"Whoa, the little captain has some spirit after all, hey?"
The other one chuckled. "I guess some. Not a lotta, seems. He didn't try anything till just now. Coward, deep down, I bet."
"You assholes are gonna pay for what you did to my friend—got it?!" Luffy yelled at the top of his lungs. "You hurt Robin, and it looks to me like you hurt Nami too, and I'm gonna kick both your asses!" Anger throbbed in Luffy's ears, but it began to occur to him that, while Robin had been tortured for days in a dungeon, he and Nami had only just been taken. Surely they weren't going to…"Listen, you assholes; if you lay one finger on Nami, I'll rip your guts out! You stay away from her!"
"Oh, I don't really see how anybody could stay away from this one," Edar smiled, his face a caricature of bullies, resembling more the worst devils of hell. "She's just so perfect." While the pirate captain stared daggers, breathing heavily in rage and disgust, Edar ran his hand from Nami's ankle, up her leg. When he reached her groin, he paused.
"Get your filthy hands off her, you scum."
"Nah. I don't think so." Edar pushed three fingers into her slit. The sleeping form bent her knees, bent at the waist, shifting to a fetal position. Edar pushed in a little farther. Luffy was almost blinded by anger.
"Nami…"
Edar pulled his fingers out and wiped them on Luffy's shirt. "I think you'll find someone else gives the orders around here." He turned to Horan. "Bring them in. I'll meet you there." Edar got out of the boat and left.
"Will do, boss," Horan grunted.
"Leave her alone!" Luffy demanded.
Horan said nothing. He reached down to her and grasped her loose pajama top, tugging it down and unbuttoning the top few buttons clumsily. He revealed her breasts, and looked for only a moment before closing his hand over her, squeezing. Heavenly. He squeezed the other, then massaged both, kneading the flesh hard.
Nami's eyes fluttered and opened. "What?" she croaked.
"Nami—Nami it's going to be okay."
"What?" she tried to focus on the person in front of her. He was…he was touching her. She didn't know him. She feebly tried to pull away from him, but he started to laugh and squeeze her harder. It was really starting to hurt. She tried to raise her arms to push him away, but found her wrists bound together in large metal cuffs. She looked back at him, vision and mind both clearing. "Get…away from me."
"Yeah, you're right. I probably shouldn't be so handsy just yet." The huge man's toothy grin stunk with his rancid breath. "Boss wouldn't be happy if I didn't save you for the main attraction…we got plans for you, missy."
Luffy struggled helplessly. If he could only get away from the damn sea prism stones, he'd tear this guy's throat out. Nami looked so scared. Where the hell was his crew?!
Horan picked them up, one over each shoulder, and stepped from the boat to the dock, plodding toward the same place they'd been before, back when Robin had needed rescuing. Luffy tried to make eye contact with Nami as their heads bounced with the rhythm of Horan's footsteps. "Nami—we're going to get out of this, okay? It's going to be okay."
Nami didn't respond. Her eyes were wide, and Luffy swore she was working it out in her own head, where they were going, and who these men were. He could see the fear radiating out from her heart. He resolved again—he'd have to save her…somehow. He didn't know where the rest of the crew was, or if they were okay, or if they were…regardless, his friend needed him now. He'd just have to find a way.
As Horan continued down the well-worn alley path, Luffy struggled fruitlessly against the iron hold of the cuffs. He would not give up.
