Drakken woke up with an unfamiliar weight on his chest and something warm pressed against his side. Blinking to adjust his eyes to the light seeping through the blinds, he moved his head ever-so-slightly to get a view of what the unexpected warmth was. He found that one of his arms was wrapped around the sleeping form of Shego, her head and one of her hands resting against his chest. Her breathing was rhythmic as she slept soundly, appearing unusually calm and content in his arms.

Drakken couldn't help the giddy smile that appeared on his face when he looked down adoringly at the sleeping woman in his arms. Remembering the events of the previous night, his heart leaped with joy. They had spent hours kissing feverishly, first on the couch before moving to his bed to fall asleep in each other's arms. The night felt like something right out of his dreams.

He could hardly believe that his snarky, sarcastic, gorgeous sidekick... actually had feelings for him.

Stealing another glance at her, his heart swelled with happiness again. Shego's calm, sleeping face was so... beautiful. If he could stay in this moment forever, he would be happy. Drakken wasn't sure how things would with her be when she woke up, but right now, he was in heaven.

'I love her.' He thought to himself. He wanted to tell her. Although, they hadn't said anything more than 'I like you' the night before... He shook his head and dismissed the urge to declare his love, deciding it was probably too early in their relationship to do that. 'Best not to push my luck.' he told himself.

'Luck...'

Suddenly, the thought struck him that the events of last night might have been a fluke. He never expected to be lucky enough to be with her. He was never a particularly lucky man after all...

A wave of fear and dread washed over Drakken, and he felt the threat of tears welling up in his eyes. What if she changed her mind and decided she didn't actually want a relationship with him? As doubt began to overwhelm him, he tried to shake the thoughts away and figure out something positive to focus on.

'At least I have this moment.' he decided. Even if she decided she didn't actually want to be with him, at least he had experienced one night of happiness with her...

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!"

The sudden, loud beeping of the alarm clock made them both jolt awake in shock. His internal monologue cut off, he cursed himself for not turning the alarm off before he went to bed. Drakken released his grip on Shego when he heard her grumble in anger. With one skillfully aimed blast of green fire, the alarm clock burned into ashes, it's harsh beeping cut off in her sudden outburst. He stared in shock.

"No!" She hissed, adjusting herself back into the position she was before. He let out a calming breath as she settled back into bed, placing his arm around her again as she rested her head back on his chest.

Shego closed her eyes. "We are not getting up. Not yet. I like evil schemes Doc, but I like this more." Her words were muffled and barely audible, but as she settled back into his arms, all his doubts from moments before were washed away. He smiled too. The rest of the world could wait, in this moment, there was nowhere he'd rather be.

The feeling of his body being shaken woke Drakken from his peaceful sleep.

"Dr. D..." Shego's voice rang out, and he blinked open his eyes to see her hand on his shoulder, her face hovering above his, attempting to wake him. "Dr. D... You awake?"

"I'm awake, I'm awake." He sat up, speaking through a yawn. "Is everything alright?" He blinked his eyes to adjust to the brightness of the room. He assumed it was probably already around noon, as the sun was shining brightly outside the window. It had been a long time since he'd slept in this late.

"Everything's fine... I'm just hungry." Shego said simply. "I'm gonna go make myself something to eat..." She said, pausing to look into his eyes with a hopeful expression. "Unless..."

"You want me to cook something, don't you?" Drakken sighed, his voice resigning.

"Well, I mean... if you insist..." She wore a satisfied grin.

Her smile was enough to cause him to smile as well. Honestly, he didn't mind cooking for her. If she asked him to steal the moon for her, he realized, he'd probably do it. She was used to getting what she wanted from him anyway.

About to get up, Drakken sighed, realizing he didn't want to leave his comfortable position on the bed. "Er... Do I... have to do it now?"

"Nah, it can wait a bit." Shego answered, her small smile remaining as she laid back down. She tucked her head under his chin, nuzzling into his neck. She ran one of her hands up his chest, and once it reached the base of his neck, Shego's eyes opened wide in realization. "Hey, your petals disappeared." She told him, her eyes darting upwards to see his reaction.

Drakken blinked in shock. He'd been so distracted that he hadn't even thought about his mutation all morning.

He lifted one of his hands, rubbing a spot on his neck where a petal had once been. "Oh! They are!" He grinned and voiced triumphantly, "They must not bloom while I'm asleep." Drakken stated, dropping his hand to rest it on her back.

"Wow... That's a pretty smart guess Doc." She said with a yawn, closing her eyes. "Almost too smart for you." With the contented look she wore, her usual lippyness felt more like teasing than a genuine insult. So he didn't say anything, instead leaning back again with a calm smile of his own.

When a few seconds passed in silence, Shego opened one eye to look up at him. "What, not gonna fight back?"

"Nope. Too happy." Drakken answered truthfully.

A few more moments of calm silence passed, and Shego's stomach let out a growl of hunger, and her grin faded. "Well, not to interrupt your happiness..."

Drakken sighed through his nose. "I'll go make breakfast."

"More like lunch." She snarked, moving off of his chest so he could slide off the bed and stand up. "I think it's almost noon."

Drakken just nodded, sliding on a pair of slippers onto his feet. Just as he was about to move towards the door, he felt her reach out and grab his hand.

"Thanks. For making me food that is." She looked up at him from her position, lazily splayed out on his big bed like a cat. "I love you."

Although her tone was genuine, her eyes immediately widened after speaking, as if she hadn't meant to say it in that moment. But she blinked away her shock and, with a raised eyebrow, looked up curiously at Drakken. He felt a great weight being lifted off his chest at her sudden admission.

He squeezed her hand gently, a wide, dopey grin appearing on his face.

"I love you too, Shego." He answered.
