So like I said here is the next chapter! I'm not gonna lie, I was actually stuck in this writer's block for a long time. I didn't even know if I was gonna ever be able to finish this or my other story. I just started to write the previous chapter and it started to flow out, and I got really excited. So I started to give myself a goal of writing a little bit each day and post a new chapter every Wednesday. Why Wednesday you ask? Well to me it is my least favorite day of the week. Not quite the weekend and it already feels as though 10 days have passed when in reality it's only been 3. I figured it's something to give everyone (myself included) something to look forward to. Alright well let's start this story! PLEASE STAY SAFE OUT THERE EVERYONE. REMEMBER WASH YOUR HANDS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING! Every time I say that or hear that all I think is, were people not washing their hands before all this?
Kagome was a little shocked. "What do you mean? What scent?"
Sesshomaru was getting more and more irritated. "Do not play coy with me girl. You know the scent of which I speak."
Inuyasha's ears perked up at Sesshomaru's statement. He must be talking about the scent of that girl Rin who had just left. So I was right, he did come looking for her. But why? He took out his tetsusaiga and swung at Sesshomaru. "You know there are a million ways better to ask someone a question. And Kagome no less. She's the only one who's ever been nice to you! You bastard!"
Sesshomaru had been walking around scouting for Naraku when the wind suddenly blew toward him, surrounding him in the most intoxicating scent he had ever smelt in his life. His demon had stirred and was howling so loud in his head that he was starting to get the biggest migraine he's had in his life. Sesshomaru could feel him starting to take over his body, wanting to escape and go toward the scent.
Jaken felt his Lord's aura begin to flare. "Lord Sesshomaru?" It took all of Sesshomaru's power to stop from transforming, barely having enough time and will power to stop at the beginnings of transformation, he decided that he would indulge his demon just this once and see what this scent was that had driven his demon to the point of insanity. He remembers just turning around and walking away hearing Jakens shrill voice yelling after him "Lord Sesshomaru! Lord Sesshomaru! Where are you going?!" He could make out that the scent he smelt was mingled with blood, and this didn't seem to settle well with his demon and dare he say himself either. But why? He walked for a few hours when he smelt the same scent getting stronger and stronger. The only thing is he could now smell the scent of his dimwitted brother in the same direction of intoxicating scent. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT IDIOT DOING WITH THIS SCENT!? Sesshomaru didn't know what this feeling was that he felt bubbling in his chest. All he knew was that he started to walk a little faster, wanting to get to Inuyasha and that scent quickly and separate them. He wanted to keep it for himself, but he didn't know why. When he saw the small glow of their fire he could smell the scent a little stronger as well as Inuyasha's and his groups mixed with it. He didn't like it. What he didn't realize was exactly how he looked. When he walked into the clearing he noticed everyone's reaction, but he didn't seem to care at the moment. He only cared about the fact that he could smell the intoxicating scent around the camp, but he could tell the source was no longer there. What he did notice was that the scent was the strongest on Inuyasha's female companion, Kagome. When his demon realized the scent was heaviest on her, Sesshomaru's control slipped for a second. He felt himself being pulled to the girl and inhaling the scent like a starving man. "Tell me girl, what is this scent that I am getting from you? It is stronger on you and it lingers around your camp." Sesshomaru growled out. When she played as if she had no idea what he meant his demon lost it, growling and roaring in his head.
He felt Inuyasha's attack about to hit him and jumped out of the way. After he landed back on his feet his demon was pissed. He slightly registered what Inuyasha had yelled at him, "...you bastard!" for at that moment a light breeze blew through him and the scent hit him like a ton of bricks. It was nearby. Not at the camp, but close. He turned around and left letting the darkness consume his figure as he headed in the direction of the scent.
Rin was lost in her thoughts. How could I have been so stupid and let myself be figured out. I've only been conscious around them for a couple minutes and already someone figured out that I'm not from here, this time. My master would be so ashamed.
So deep in thought she didn't notice that she was headed straight for a tree and walked right into it. What is wrong with me. It's not like I'm ever going to see them again anyways. All I have to do is steer clear of them and all will be fine. The world is a big place, if I found a way to hide from my uncle I can definitely hide from a group of people I don't even know.
She walked into a clearing with a small oasis that had a waterfall. It was lit up by the bright full moon that shown that night. Just then she felt like she was walking into danger. She looked up and saw 2 demons. One was tall, dark and could be categorized as handsome. He had a square jaw, bright purple eyes, and a set of full lips. His hair was short but just long enough to pull back in a small tight shiny pony tale. While the other one was almost the complete opposite. He was short, had long unruly unkept hair, chapped lips, hell he even had a smudge of dirt on his face. Not to mention he smelled like he hadn't bathed in ages. He might actually look alot better if he just took a little better of himself. A bath definitely wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. She thought while lifting her upper lip in disgust. When she took a small cautious whiff she could make out that they were wolf demons, and they smelt like they came from the same tribe as the previous wolf demon she had fought. "Can I help you with something gentlemen?" Rin asked her voice low and uncaring.
"Yeah! We got a bone to pick with you little girl! Because of you we now have to eat animals. We don't even get to have fun hunting down humans anymore. All our boss talks about is how he is just listening to his girl, and his girl this and his girl that. We were able to find out that it was you." yelled out the shorter one. The taller one seemed to be looking at her up and down and spoke , "Although I can see why he would be interested in you. You're not that bad to look at." "Yeah? Well to each their own opinion brother. I just don't see it. And besides, we came here to finish her off." he turned to look at her, "We smelt your blood earlier and decided to take advantage of your wounded state. What do you say girl?"
Rin felt herself with her mind and could feel that she was completely healed now, but deciding to play along inwardly smirked. "Even injured I could take you no problem."
When she said that she could see them both tighten their jaws in anger. "What happened wolfy? Cat got your tongue?"
This seemed to push the smaller one to the edge. He ran towards her yelling, balled fists ready to go. She waited for him to get just close enough and flip in the air above his head, let him pass, and gave him a push by giving him a swift kick in the back of the head as she straightened out. He flew forward head first into a nearby tree promptly knocking him out. The taller one's eyes went wide, she could tell he was seriously thinking twice about his plan of attack.
He could feel it in his bones that she wasn't going to be any ordinary adversary. She was quick, strong and precise. His brother wasn't to say the strongest in the pack, especially when he let others get to him and send him into a blind rage. He just couldn't think straight. But he wasn't exactly the weakest nor slowest one in the pack either. He was the weakest out of the two of them though. Getting into a fighting position he prepared himself for a fight he knew and felt in his bones wasn't going to be an easy one. he crouched down, ready to attack, that is until he felt something start to creep up his spine. An even stronger aura, and it was watching them. it made the hair on his arm and head stand up. this was something he did not want to deal with. His instincts screamed at him to run and not look back.
Rin saw him stiffen up after getting in his fighting stance. She was about to prepare herself as well when she felt a strong aura as well. A really strong one, and close. She felt more than heard the growl that came through the dark forest. It sent shivers down her spine, yet not from fear. Her demon was reacting to it in a different way. She was excited and wanted to run straight towards the growl yet it made the other guy want to run the opposite direction.
They both watched the entrance to the clearing when a tall demon walked into the clearing slowly and gracefully. Making both of their hearts pound, yet both for very different reasons.
Dun Dun Dun! What will happen next? Tune in next week for another exciting chapter! Everyone stay safe out there!
