Stef:
It was the day of my birthday and all my friends came and it was warm outside so we played outside games like water balloon fights and tossing a nerf ball around and shooting some hoops and we had had burgers and hotdogs and potato and macaroni salad and I opened Presents. Lena got me the newest CD of my favorite music artist. Some of the girls got me body sprays and some of the boys got me some kind jewelry. My aunt got me a heart-shaped necklace. My mom gave me 1 of 1st generation mobile phones that had just talk on it. We had cake. My Aunt got me Carrot Cake with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream. Everyone started leaving except Rachael, and Lena because I was having a slumber party with the 2 of them. Travis was still around and approached me when my mom and aunt were cleaning up and Rachael and Lena were standing next to me.
"Baby can we talk for a minute." He looks at Rachael and Lena. "Alone."
"Sure." we walk near the shed to talk. "What's going on?"
"Stef I hate to do this but you're younger then me and I thought you were ready to be in a relationship but it's clearly your too immature for 1 right now."
"You breaking up with me just because I wouldn't have sex?"
"Yes."
"You know what Travis. Just Leave. I don't wanna ever see you again." I storm off and go to my room and bury my face in my pillow and cry and Rachael and Lena come into my room and closes the door and Rachael sits at my feet.
"Stef? Are you okay?" Rachael asked me.
I sit up and look at Rachael and Lena with tears in my eyes. "Travis broke up with me."
"Why?"
"Because he said I was immature because I wasn't ready for sex."
"Stef, fuck him, he's a dick for breaking up with you over that."
"I'm done with people."
"Don't say that Stef. You need to go for someone that cares for you and respects you for who you are and is always there to cheer you up when you're sad."
"Like who?"
"I know the perfect person for you. I know you will deny it because you guys are friends but I know she will be perfect for you."
"Who? Lena?"
"Yes."
"Rachael. She's My Best Friend."
"More than a reason that the 2 of you are perfect for each other."
"I don't want to lose our friendship if it doesn't work out."
"You guys will work out. Because you know everything about each other and I know she won't pressure you into anything you don't to do and you would do the same thing for her."
"We need some time to talk about it."
"Okay. I will sleep on the softa in front of your tv so you guys can have some privacy."
"Okay."
We all change for bed and get ready for bed and Rachael lays the Sofa I have in my room that I use for my video game playing well me and Lena are in my bed facing each other talking quietly.
"Are you okay sweets?"
"Yeah."
"Good.
"Do you like me?"
"Of course I like you."
"No I mean do you like me like more then friends."
"Oh, sweetie. Give it time. Were young still we have plenty of time to date, other people. I do want to date you I just think we need to date some people before we decide to date each other."
"You're older then me and my mom is stricked and my aunt might listen to mom and not let me date at a young age."
"You never know you're aunt might let you. Just talk to her."
I kiss her forehead to comfort her to assure her that I do like her then we go to bed. The next day after Lena talked to her aunt we talked.
"How did it go?"
"Better then I thought."
"What she say?"
"That I can date once I go to middle school."
"That's great."
"But she told me that after my mom said no because my mom thinks I'm too young."
"12 is young too but at least you can date."
"Yeah."
"Even if you think I don't want t to hear about the people you date I would love to hear about them and if someone tries to hurt you in any way don't hesitate to tell me and I will do whatever I can do to protect you."
"Okay."
I went to her elementary graduation and was happy that my best friend is smart.
