The Kids Aren't Alright
Chapter 3
"What do you mean you're moving out? You just moved in here bro." Damon's roommate asked as Damon tried to find his suitcase in all this clutter. He had had enough of this and it had only been a day since he had been there. He just needed a way out of this place, and he had to find it fast before it was too late.
"I mean that this arrangement isn't working out. I need roommates who aren't you. No offense."
"Offense taken." He said narrowing his eyes as Damon grabbed the last of his stuff. "Good luck finding a roommate who can deal with your ass."
"I have a feeling it won't be that hard. Good luck bro."
Shutting the door tightly, Damon walked away from the only guaranteed place he had to stay and walked until he found his car in the parking lot and threw his stuff in it slamming his trunk as he sighed in exasperation.
Before he could fathom what was happening, Damon collapsed to the ground as a body collapsed on top of him. He was about to yell at the ignorant moron until he stopped dead in his tracks looking into the face of Elena Gilbert. She must have really been having a bad day if she was running into him yet again.
"Shit. Sorry."
"It happens. How are you doing? Still having trouble with your finances?"
"Yep. I'm still in a world full of shit, thanks for reminding me."
"Sorry. I didn't mean to bring up a sore subject."
"It's alright I shouldn't have snapped at you like I did. I'm sorry."
"Perfectly understandable considering the circumstances, I myself am having a similar problem."
"Do tell. I could use a distraction from my own drama."
"Well you already know that my roommate sucked. What if it told you I moved out today?"
"How did you manage that? We just barely started school."
"Let's just say that staying there wasn't worth it."
"So, what are you going to do now?"
"I have no fucking clue. Sleep in my car until I find a place I guess."
"Sounds rough. I'm sorry."
"I'm pretty sure whatever I'm going through now won't always be this bad. Shit happens you know. Maybe this meet and greet will be just what I need to take my mind off things."
"I sure hope you're right. Maybe this stupid thing will actually be a good thing."
"Can't hurt to at least try."
"So what team are you on?"
"The red one."
"What a coincidence, so am I."
"I wonder how many others will be in our group."
"I guess we'll find out in a second. Ladies first." He said opening the door for her as they looked around for their group until they found one with five other people in it. One of which looked vaguely familiar as they both sat down ready to start their first group activity.
"Good we're all here shall we start with introductions and majors?" their leader asked as they left them alone to discuss everything.
"I guess I'll start off. Hi, I'm Damon Salvatore. And my major is business management."
One of the men in Damon's group tensed up as if the name had been like an acid splash to his face. Damon shrugged it off. Maybe something else was pissing him and he just didn't want deal with this kind of endeavor. Only time will tell.
"Hi, I'm Elena Gilbert and I'm a medical student."
"I'm Caroline Forbes and I'm a drama major."
"I'm Klaus Mikaelson and I'm an art major."
"Stefan Salvatore and I'm a criminal justice major."
"Are you two related?" Klaus asked looking between Stefan and Damon. Hell, Damon didn't even know, but what would be the odds that his long-lost brother would attend the same university as him.
"Not that I know of." Damon answered as Stefan shrugged, He would have to get ahold of him after the exercise and learn more about it.
"Well formalities aside. I'm Enzo St. John and I'm a photography major."
"And I'm Bonnie. I'm studying Botany."
"So, what do we talk about now?" Elena asked looking around at each one of them.
"How about how shit this college is so far?" Stefan answered leaning back in his seat.
"What makes you say that?" Enzo inquired curious.
"The dorms are so shitty here and who else got like the worst roommate?"
"I think everyone can relate to that."
"What happened with yours?" Stefan asked Damon,
"Have you ever walked in on an orgy?"
"Gross."
"Yeah tell me about it."
"So, what did you do?"
"I left."
"Good for you."
"I just don't get why we have to stay in the dorms in the first place. Why can't we just find our own places and live there while we go to school."
"That's actually not a bad idea." Elena spoke up as the others looked at her.
"I think we have to stay in the dorms for most of the terms." Bonnie replied looking around.
"Not if we get approval from the dean."
"Do you think we can really get approved?" Enzo asked looking around.
"We can always try."
"It might be worth it." Elena replied as the group agreed.
"Then let's give it a shot."
"Sounds good to me after all what do we really got to lose." Damon smiled as he looked around at the group that would now potentially be his roommates.
