Chapter Three

"WELCOME to The Volturi Castle! Please let me introduce myself, my name is Aro"

The gentleman in the middle started to say as he stood up from his throne and continued with the introductions of everyone up there. I totally missed the name of the man that caught my eye since I was trying my hardest not to make eye contact with him again and in turn, missed what his name was.

"Ah, how interesting!" I heard one of them say but didn't catch who said it since it was just beyond a whisper. I don't think I was supposed to hear what was said next but I did. "Well, this certainly changes things."

I really need to focus!

"Girl! I would not complain if anyone of them were to ask me to marry them right now." Ashleigh said while she gawked at the men in front of us. I looked back at them and that's when I noticed it and I don't know how I missed it before. All three of them had red eyes.

"No..." I whispered to myself and started to walk backwards towards the door we just entered from.

Ashleigh noticed me walking away and she gave me a look "Where are you going?" she asked.

I couldn't speak and just kept shaking my head while everything just came rushing back to me. How come I hadn't noticed this before. Had it really been that long? That I had forgotten that they existed and let my guard down.

Vampires.

Not just any vampires, the vampires that obviously ruled over the vampire world. I can't get involved with this again!

I turned around to rush out the door but was stopped by a broad chest and I didn't even want to dare to look up because I knew who it was. I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I knew what this was and that they are not going to let me leave. Correction, they won't let any of us leave.

I stared at my feet for what felt like hours and slowly I started to raise my head up not daring to open my eyes until I knew I was face to face with him. Once I opened my eyes, he was staring at me with this look that I couldn't place and I would be lying if I wasn't scared out of my mind right now. I knew who and what they are and I also knew that was against one of their biggest laws.

We are NOT supposed to know about the existence of their kind.

We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. I didn't dare to speak and had this weird urge to fall into his embrace but I knocked that out really quickly since I did not have a death wish right now.

"Hello." He simply said to me and it was like music to my ears. If I couldn't be more in awe of him, he had to go and have a deep and strong sexy voice like that.

However, I did not respond and he gave me that smirk again that I swear made me weak in the knees. What in the hell is wrong with me? Get it together! I just keep chanting in my mind.

"Please move out of my way." I blurted out before I could stop myself.

Did I just say that out loud? A few students in the group gasped and I actually forgot we were not the only people in the room. I looked behind me and saw everyone just staring and the other royals by the throne staring just as hard if not harder at us.

I turned back around and moved a few steps to help contain my composure.

"Isabella! Please have some more respect than that!" My professor pretty much jumped in and pulled me out of the way while he started to mumble an apology.

Before I knew what was happening, I heard a low growl.

I seriously needed to get out of here.

In an instant, I was grabbed so fast and it had me distracted that in a blink of an eye everything was flying by us and it seemed I was taken to another wing of the castle.

All I could think about in those few seconds was 'GREAT! this is how I die'.

...

Meanwhile in the Throne Room

(Ashleigh's POV)

...

I was just looking at Bella in the scene she was currently making and I blinked and she was gone. Where in the world did, she go?

I turned back around to notice that everyone is starting to realize we are missing two people who were just in the room with us and now have disappeared to who knows where.

"Where did Bella go?" I started to say as I faced our professor.

'Where did Isabella go?' I heard him repeat under his breathe right after me while I just stared at him. I was getting a really bad feeling and was not completely sure what was going on.

I turned to face the thrones where the royals are wondering if they had the answer to my question and they were just looking at us with this bored look on their faces like they were waiting for something.

Waiting on what? Where is our tour guide?

I started to walk forward and before I knew it I was demanding "Where did my friend Bella go? What is going on here?"

One of the royals just looked at me with this look that I swear could just throw someone across the room if he wanted too. I saw him glance over to the others and then back to me before he stood up again and addressed the entire room.

"Let us begin shall we," he said.

SCREAMS AND YELLING

They started to echo off the walls and blood was being sprayed all over the place. It was happening in slow motion as I saw my professor and classmates get attacked by a blur and then they dropped dead one by one. While others ran around trying to escape at no avail. It was like nothing I have ever seen and I was just frozen in place and at that moment I knew we were all dead.

There was blood all over me and all over the room. I closed my eyes waiting for my turn because surely, I was next. After what felt like hours, I put my head down and opened my eyes to see the cleanest and polished shoes. I knew in order to know who they belonged to I would have to look up but I was scared at that moment and could not bring myself to do so.

This has to be a nightmare, right?

"I know you are important to your friend so you will not die..." the owner of the shoes said which made me look up so fast while he finished off his sentence with "at least not today".
