Chapter 8

She was beautiful. Beyond beautiful. Stunning. Exquisite. Beyond anything Edward had ever seen before. As he knelt on the cold marble floor of the main hall, he wondered if he was dead. He wondered if the blast had truly killed him and he was merely in the midst of angels. But he believed with his whole heart that no angel could compare to her beauty.

She was long and curvy with flawless ivory skin. Her eyes were large and her lips full. Her hair tumbled over her shoulders and her breathing was calm and even.

And she was unabashedly naked.

She was perched on the pedestal with her hands resting either side of her with her fingers gently curved around the edge of the marble. Her flawless legs crossed at the ankles in a refreshingly relaxed position. She browsed the damage around her with curious eyes until she found her eyes connected with Edwards. Her lips rose in the corners and she shifted her weight from one hip to another.

"Hello," She greeted in a melodic voice. Her high cheek bones complemented the rounded apples of her cheeks when she smiled. Edward was frozen in place, star struck and enthralled by her. She tilted her head, amused by his fish impression as he opened and closed his mouth looking for words - any words - to say. She slowly slipped down from her high perch to saunter over to him with confident steps. She stopped in front of him and knelt down to join him. He stopped breathing when she was a hand width apart from him. She smiled slightly as she tilted her head this way and that, seeing if he'd begin breathing again. She reached forward and grabbed ahold of his hand. His already screaming lungs compressed in his chest as his heart squeezed in response to her touching him. She began to play with his fingers. Turning his hand over to inspect it before meeting his eyes once again.

"Are you the one that heard me?" She whispered to him. He gulped and took a desperately needed breath. He nodded to her, which made her smile widely.

"Good," She stated as she reached up to cup his cheek. Having been staring into her hypnotic eyes for so long, Edward nearly forgot where they were until he heard he moans and groans of the other people in the room. He snapped his eyes towards the now conscious, wriggling forms of his family and the guards. He quickly glanced over at the slow moving form of his father and fear struck him.

There's no telling what the King would do to this beauty for his own amusement.

He couldn't let anything happen to her.

They need to go.

Now.

He yanked the back of his shirt over his head and placed it over hers. He scooped her around her waist as he jumped up and placed her onto her feet as he made his way over to his rousing brothers. He shook Emmett briskly, whispering his named harshly before making his way over to Jasper to do the same. Emmett sat up slowly, holding his head and groaning. He shook his head watching his eldest brother with confusion.

"What…what happened?" He whined, rubbing his eyes. Edward was trying to pull Jasper to his feet as he answered.

"We have to go," He stated. He rounded back to Emmett as the giant stood up on his own but on shaky legs.

"What?" Jasper asked, rubbing the back of his head with a frown when he caught a glance of the beauty in front of them. As Emmett waddled his way over to Jasper, Jasper nudged Emmett's chin in the direction he was looking.
