A/N: Hello, I guess it's been years (5 I think) since I last updated this fic...? First of all, to those who had been patiently waiting for an update, I deeply apologize.
I'll just be honest, I don't really enjoy writing this as of recently (aka ever since I last updated this), so after a few more chapters (around 2 or 3 more I think), I'll probably never going to continue this again, or maybe until I have enough interest in this again, fingers crossed. Also, this chapter has been written on-and-off again in the last 5 years, so my writing style had kinda changed a lot... prolly... also, don't expect the next chapter be uploaded in the near future, I only have the basic "plots" laid out, so yeah...
Also, if you're wondering, this is set before chapter 2 and after chapter 5.
"Pssh, I'm not stalking Tsuna—I'm just monitoring him, that's all."
"Yeah, right... And 'monitoring' him behind bushes and walls from a distance—and without him knowing—doesn't count as 'stalking.'"
"I'm not stalking him!"
"...you're unbelievably in denial."
"And for your information, I'm also not in denial, G." Akage "G" Gokudera only rolled his eyes.
"Uh-huh."
"You're not helping me with this mission."
G deadpanned and crossed his arms. "And since when did I even offer myself to do this 'mission' with you, stupid?"
"...just shut up." Ieyasu "Giotto" Sawada pouted as he continued to look at the playing-in-the-sandbox Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada.
"Whatever." The red-headed teen in response raised his hands, finally gave in to his best friend's absurd "plans."
Aka, hissing at anyone coming near his little brother within a five-meters radius.
"By the way, didn't you already ask (more like ordered, he mentally supplied) my brother to look out for him?"
"Well yeah," Giotto replied, eyes still staring at Tsuna; "but didn't you say he's having that weird UMA expedition today at the mountain with that Irie kid and Miura girl?"
"...right, forgot about that."
The three four year-olds went to the nearby mountain woods behind the Namimori Shrine since before dawn (how his little brother was able to wake up and carry that heavy-looking small bag he prepared last night at that ungodly hour without waking him up (since their rooms were next to each other and were also on the second floor) was beyond him), after they heard about the rumors circling between the townspeople regarding seeing something small and agile roaming around the woods, but was too fast before they could identify the thing.
(Later, they would find out it was actually just a really fast chameleon hunting for food and got seen by the local monk when he was cleaning the weeds a few days ago. Admittedly he almost got a heart attack when it suddenly appeared, told of his encounter with some visitors later that day, and the rumors just spiraled from then on.)
G shook his head and crossed his arms again, getting out from his thoughts and clearly still not pleased at Giotto's "Protect Tsuna From Kyo-chan!" by-now-a-week-old shenanigans. The shorter teen had forcefully dragged him out from his bed (and on a Sunday morning to boot, he grumbled) after not getting any replies from his bombardment of chats for the last twenty minutes, just to stalk his brother because his mom wanted him to play outside with the other kids and he wasn't convinced by that (he reasoned it was one of her ploys to give his little Tsu-kun some alone time with Kyo-chan)—but lo and behold, Tsuna really did play outside and the kids there wouldn't even want to come near him!
(Granted, the reason was because of Giotto's deadly glares pinned on them whenever they got near Tsuna. Sometimes G wondered if Giotto was even older or younger than Tsuna, even the smaller boy was more level headed than his so-called older brother for God's sake!)
Sometimes he just really wanted to strangle the guy and leave him to his own devices.
With a sigh, in the end, G finally willed himself to his friend's whims and sat down on the bench near the tree Giotto was hiding, holding out his phone. If he was going to be there for a while, he might as well play some games while waiting. After what it seemed to be two hours of watching like an eagle, aka stalking (for Giotto), and sitting, aka regretting his life decisions (for G), red-haired teen finally had enough with his friend's nonsense and was about to drag the teen back to their homes (and also to stop stalking his younger sibling, it was creepy, even creepier than Daemon's usual antics!) when he noticed a certain blue-haired creeper walking leisurely toward Tsuna.
Why the hell was he doing over there…
Looking over Giotto from his side, G noted how the teen was grinding his teeth in annoyance, clearly aware of Daemon's presence near his younger brother, but hadn't made any motion to go and drag the teen away from him.
"You're not gonna maim him?"
"And let him tattle on my Mom for not studying?"
"Oh wow, and here I thought you'd went full predator-mode without giving any damn to future consequences."
"Shut up."
After a few more minutes of teeth grinding and restrained urges to maim someone, the blue-haired teen eventually left the little boy alone again.
"Weird…" G muttered, more to himself really, as he replayed the scene in his head one more time and thought of multiple scenarios for why Daemon, of all people, had willingly come near his mortal pranking enemy's little brother even after being defeated by Giotto in a prank-a-thon a week ago.
Just in conjunction to when the "Kyo-chan" fiasco started, if he thought about it again.
"Hmm? You were saying, G?"
If the red-haired teen ever wanted to voice his thoughts at the time, it was quickly diminished as the two ran away in fear after noticing the blond-headed teen's mom walking straight toward their direction with a steady pace and a calm, albeit slightly unnerving smile.
Never again would G ever question the Sawada matriarch's dominance in the male-dominated household.
Never. Again.
END
A/N: Sorry for the awkward ending, but I really just want this to get out of my system—it's been plaguing the back of my head for years now, ugh. Also, sorry for not replying reviews in this chapter (and maybe also in the next chapters as well), but I don't think anyone's going to want my reply anymore anyway, haha.
Anyway, I hope you guys have a wonderful day and constructive criticisms are welcomed!
