A/N

Hey everyone! So if you're here you probably happen to be, like me, obsessed with Marvel and/or Spiderman. I got this idea while I was just vibing on my bed staring at my ceiling and procrastinating on my homework (as I tend to do). I had been debating whether to write it and post it or not butttttt here I am.

This is my first fanfic, so be patient with me! I'm probably going to upload every…. Saturday? Or Friday? Probably Friday lol. Anyway, Our main character, Arianna, is British and I just so happen to be American so I will try my best but if I happen to get any words wrong because something is said differently in America feel free to leave a comment or pm me to correct me! I want this to be as accurate as possible :)

Also please review! I don't mind if it's comments or criticisms, just let me know if there are things I should change or things you want me to keep the same.

Lastly, I'm probably going to put a lyric from a song I really enjoy or a quote that pertains to the story at the beginning of each chapter. Sooo without further ado…

EnJoY!

Ok so for this prologue I have absolutely no idea what song to use so if anyone has any suggestions just pm/comment :)

Somewhere in the United States, 2001

A young wavy-haired woman with striking emerald green eyes walked briskly around the corner. She wasn't paying attention to the path ahead of her; instead, she was reading a file on a patient that she was to be working on.

She had recently graduated from med school and was excited to be hired so quickly. Sure, it was a little strange how they had approached her with the offer but she figured that just came with the terrain. They had told her about how she would make an invaluable difference and save lives- one of the main reasons she became a doctor. She had heard countless stories about people graduating from med school but not being accepted to work at any hospital for months, or even years. She would have to have been crazy to not accept their offer. It came with a substantial amount of money as well, enough to get a jump start on paying off her student loans… so she went. She had only been here for about two weeks now but it was a fairly straight forward building. So far she had just done routine checkups and stitched up a few injuries. They looked suspiciously like stab wounds but it wasn't her place to judge. She became a doctor to help people and help people she had done.

"Rachel Brooks" she heard a gruff voice call and she turned around quickly. Smiling, Rachel brushed her coffee-colored hair over her shoulder. "That's me" she replied warmly, not letting the man's rough exterior deter her. "I'm sorry I was reading the patient file and wasn't paying attention. I must have just stopped walking. What can I do for you Mr…..?"

The man ignored her conversational tone and pivoted abruptly "follow me" he stated shortly already brusquely marching down the hallway. Rachel nodded before realizing he was already halfway down the corridor. How did he walk so fast? She quickly followed after him and deeper into the building. The only rooms she had really been in were her lab, office and the cafeteria. She looked around curiously as she followed the man.

The front of the building was clean and modern looking, however, It seemed to be in more disrepair as they went on even nearing the point of dilapidation. The walls were covered with dirt, scuff marks, and… were those bloodstains? She briefly wondered whether the janitors even cleaned down here or... what if they weren't allowed too? 'Stop with that kind of talk. You've always had an overactive imagination and right now you're just letting it get the best of you' She told herself annoyedly. Nonetheless, she still resolved to pay more attention to her surroundings and anything overly suspicious. There was nothing wrong with being careful.

They finally arrived at a small sparsely lighted room. He motioned her inside and she glanced at him quickly before stepping in front of the man and into the room. Inside was a tall lean woman with platinum blonde hair cut into a blunt bob. She had a heavy Russian accent and a cold detached look in her arctic blue eyes.

"Are you Doctor Brooks?" She asked though it sounded more like a demand. Without waiting for an answer she pushed on "I am General Morozov You will be reporting to me with all the test subject's vitals, specifically after experimentation. Do you understand?"

"Yes Ma'am, Uhm yes I do, but test subject?" Rachel asked curiously but being careful to stay respectful not wanting to seem like she was questioning the general. This woman obviously had a lot of power and Rachel didn't want to say anything that would cause her to get on the woman's bad side.

"Test subjects, patients they are the same thing. Now, get to work" The general replied indifferently before gesturing to a guard behind her "Nikolaev you will stay with the doctor. Orlov, come with me" she ordered then turned briskly on her heel and strode out gracefully, Nikolaev following closely behind.

"Wait I-" Rachel tried to say as the general left before sighing and turning to a guard- Nikolaev she thought his name was- standing silently in the corner. "Do you know where the patient is? I haven't had a chance to see them yet"

The guard stared at her wordlessly for about 15 seconds but just when Rachel was ready to look for the patient herself he gestured vaguely to a small alcove behind her. She looked at him inquisitively but he didn't say anything so she turned towards the alcove. She didn't see any patients there, only a bundle of blankets on top of a grimy counter. Deciding to move in for a closer look the green-eyed woman stepped over towards the counter grimacing at the layers of dust on top of it. She moved the folds of the blanket aside and gasped audibly.

Looking back at her was a tiny hazel eyed baby with caramel-colored skin and a thick patch of curly brown hair on top of her small head. The baby didn't move or do anything, just blinked at her.

Rachel gingerly picked her up and turned towards Nikolaev "This is the patient?" she asked, shock evident in her voice. Nikolaev stared back at her mutely. Eventually deciding that she probably wasn't going to get an answer she decided to ask a different question. "What's her name?" Nikolaev looked at her for a few more seconds before answering " Subject 4753". He had a deep voice that sounded hoarse from lack of use. She turned away once again shaking her head in disapproval.

"I think I'll call you Arianna" she whispered gently to the little girl. The baby was much too thin and the blankets she was wrapped in were caked with dirt and grime. Also, it smelled like she was in desperate need of a diaper change. "I need a bottle of milk- preferably high in nutrients, new clothes, diapers, and a basin to clean her off in" Rachel informed the man calmly. Once again in control of the situation. This time when Nikolaev just gazed at her unresponsively she stared back determination evident in her emerald eyes. Once Rachel Jade Brooks got an idea in her mind she was hard-pressed to forget about it.

When he realized that she wasn't going to give up. He sighed and took out a walkie talkie"

Врач просит молоко, одеяла, одежду и тазик для ребенка" he ordered. She couldn't understand anything he said and at that moment she vowed to work on becoming fluent in several languages- including Russian. If there was one thing Rachel hated, it was feeling ignorant and out of the loop and at that moment she felt exactly that. Never again. Hoping he was telling the other staff her requests she turned her attention back to the baby. Little Arianna stared into Rachel's green eyes with her big hazel ones with nothing but trust in her gaze and it was like they were the only ones in the room. In one fell swoop, the little girl had stolen Rachel's heart. "We're going to get you all fixed up and back in good health. I don't know who was in charge of you before but I promise I'll take care of you" she murmured to the baby softly. She wasn't just saying it either. Right then and there Rachel swore to herself that she would look out for this tiny helpless child, no matter what.
