"Iraki, please!" He shouted, as the fire was burning down her home. He heard screams everywhere, his neighbours and friends dying at the hands of fire or soldiers, but one scream was different from the rest. He recognized Iraki's voice calling for help from upstairs. Without thinking twice, he followed her voice.

He called for her name, as the smoke got heavier and the flames burned even more. She was in her bedroom, wearing a light dress. "Damien!" She shouted, terrified. Tears were coming out of her eyes, both from the smoke and from the panic.

"Don't worry, Im here with you. We will be ok." Damien tried to calm her down, before having an idea as he noticed a window. "We have to jump, Iraki. There's no other option, you see?"

She shook her head. "I can't! My parents...and yours...where..." She was too afraid to finish her question, as she grabbed his hands tightly.

Damien remained silent for a second, looking down as she realised what happened to them with a sob. "Im sorry, my love." he said then, feeling guilty as he grabbed her and got themselves out of there jumping through the window. They landed with a thud, with Damien hugging Iraki so she would take the less damage possible, rolling on the floor for a few meters.

A soaring pain made Damien drop Iraki once they were on the ground, making her to roll around a meter away, screaming in panic and pain. He took of his shirt as a soaring pain shocked him. "A broken rib? Maybe two?" He thought hoping to only have a minor wound, but reality was worse. His back's skin was completely burned. As Iraki noticed it, she started to cry again, approaching him carefully.

"Damien, I...Im sorry..." she said as tears didn't stop coming out, she held his face between her hands, stroking his cheeks. "Im really sorry Damien. Im sorry, Im sorry."

Damien tilted his head confused "What? Why? It's not your fault!" He tried to comfort her, unsuccessfully forcing a smile, leading to a grimace of pain and some tears. However, he got up immediately, as someone was reaching them.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here? A pair of Ionian scum trying to avoid their destiny?" It was a man's voice, but they couldn't see his face as he was wearing a helmet. "Unfortunately for you, I'll deal with ya so you can go with your relatives." Damien wasn't able to stand up for much longer, and Iraki was crying desperately.

Suddenly, an arrow pass through the man's helmet, just through his left eye hole. He fell on the floor immediately, dead. Damien looked around, trying to find their saviour. A man was hiding on the top of a tree, bow in hand, looking at them and gesturing them to follow him.

Kai opened his eyes and saw that he was lying on the ground, facedown. He felt very dizzy, so he didn't get up immediately, but touched the back of his head and noticed that he had blood. "What the fuck?" he quietly questioned. He forced himself to stand up. He had to check that everything was all right, that the ship hadn't gone off course. However, a groan from the cabin alerted him. "Damien?" the young man asked, receiving no response other than silence. He approached the door of the room, drawing a short sword, but stopped at the door. A sound made him stop, coming from inside the room, a knock on the floor followed by four faster knocks. Like this over and over again. Kai understood immediately, Damien was using the code they used when patrolling around their village so they wouldn't be detected by the enemy. The first knock indicated that there was only one enemy. "The other four..." Kai thought a bit scared, realising what did that mean. One knock meant simple, unaware enemy. Two knocks, enemy with something that made them difficult to approach, but they were still unaware. Three knocks meant that they had been noticed and the enemy was alert. Four knocks..."Im injured. I need help." muttered Kai.

Meanwhile, on the inside, Damien was facedown on the floor, with one hand holding his knife, doing the knocks, and with the other one putting pressure on the stabbing. Katarina was above him, sitting on his back so he couldn't move, and also giving him some pain due to his stomach wound. She had a dagger on each hand, and a little smile on her face. "So, little pray" she said mockingly "What are you going to do now? Pray for someone to help ya? Maybe your friend?" she giggled "He was the first to die. You now are alone with me, Whisper."

Damien didn't answer. He knew wasting energy chatting with her wouldn't give him any advantage, so he focused on knocking the floor, hoping Kai would still be alive. "Come one, Kai." He thought to himself "Please, be there. We can't die here, not like this." But then, he would sense something, coming from outside the room. Two quick knocks followed by a slow one. Damien hid a smile against the floor. The meaning of those knocks were that Kai was still alive, and...

"So, no answer?" She said, drawing the blade near his throat. That took Damien off guard "Too bad, Whisper. I hoped you would collaborate with another fellow assassin, but it seems you are quite the stubborn type. What a shame." He could sense de joy she was having but he didn't want to die. He had to survive, for Ionia, for Iraki.

"Wa-wait!" He shouted, trying to be heard by Kai. He felt the bitter taste of blood in his mouth. "I will tell you anything you want to know. Just let me alive. I can help!" He tried to sound desperate, as he stopped knocking. "I'll tell you about our mission, anything you want! Please!"

She kept the blade against his throat a little longer, thinking whether letting him live or not. "Ok" she giggled "Depending on what you say, I'll let you live or not." She said with a confident smile, getting off him, leaving a cut on his left cheek as she released him "Now get up and start speaking, Whisper, or else." she warned with a calm tone.

Damien got up slowly, blade in hand. He looked fiercely at her, only feeling one thing. Not sadness nor pain. Not even happiness for Kai being alive. He felt wrath, wrath against himself for letting that woman injure him and agains her for being Noxian, but forced himself to control it, showing a little smile at her. "You see, we have a saying in Ionia when a woman sneaks into a married man's room".

"Well, I can't see any ring" she answered "Now stop playing games and tell me about your mission, Whisper."

He closed his eyes for a second before telling her. "You see, we were sent to ocean so we could meet Katarina du Couteau and make her lose some time before arriving to Ionia. Maybe we could have made friends with her, it's a shame she was so cocky she didn't stop being a bitch until the end of her miserable life." He smiled as he continued "She begged for her life, but the Whisper didn't let her live. Because Ionian people who begged didn't get mercy from Noxians, so why should he? She cried for help, knowing it was her last moment, but you know what? No one came, Katarina. No one will save you from us."

Her smile disappeared, giving way to a serious and fierce look."You sure, Ionian dog? And what are you saying about "us"?" And, in a split second, Kai opened the door, sword in hand. Katarina couldn't help but look over there, reducing the attention she had paid to Damien. He took advantage of it by throwing himself at her, grabbing her wrists tightly. He pushed her hard, causing both of them to fall to the ground, Damien on top of her.

That caught her off guard, gasping surprised. He then grabbed her head and knocked the floor with it. "You, bitch!" And again, and again, and again, until Kai grabbed him from behind, pulling him away from her. Katarina's body stop moving, but they weren't sure if she was dead or not. Blood was coming out from the back of her head.

"Dude stop! You are going to kill her. I know she's Noxian, but she could have some info!" he said, as Damien tried to free himself, full of rage.

"Just let me. I swear I will kill her!" He panted, feeling more tired the more he tried to free himself. His vision was slowly turning blurry. He looked down and saw he was bleeding even more than before from his wounds. "Damn this..." said as he passed out between his friend's arms.

"Damien!" Kai quickly left his unconscious body on the floor and ran for medicines, not before making sure Katarina was dead or not. To his relief, she was also unconscious. He quickly tied her up after getting all of her knives. Then, he took Damien to the ship's hold, were he treated his wounds with the supplies they had there, being also experienced in the treating of blade wounds.

Damien felt anything, as if he was in a pitch black hole, unable to move, to speak. Only he could hear a voice coming from far away. "Come for me, Whisper." Was he allucinating from the blood loss? "Let us destroy those who brought suffering to you." The voice continued saying those words again and again. Damien couldn't speak, he was forced to hear endlessly, as he was falling asleep.

To be continued...
