Shadow Falls Holy Warrior Chapter 8
Lexi led them into the forest, Ellie was jogging ahead of them with Lexi walking casually behind her followed by both Holiday and Kylie.
"Where are we going?" Holiday asked after they had travelled some distance into the woods.
"Some place to train, it is better to see it yourself than for me to try and explain it." The rock face was coming up and Ellie was standing in front waiting for them.
'Grab their hands and for-goodness sake do not let them go, this is there first time going through and they could easily get lost and we would never be able to find them.' Lexi grabbed their hands and followed Ellie into the cave, both Holiday and Kylie gasped and slowed down, but Lexi's firm grip pulled them along until they exited out the other side. Both Holiday and Kylie were shocked looking around the new forest in amazement.
"Where are we exactly?" Holiday asked
"It's the training arena. Whenever a guardian needs it to train a new warrior it appears with everything they will need. This is where I had my training when I arrived here on earth. It took up the first five years of my life, in this arena where Lady Artemis taught the five."
"What do you mean when you arrived on earth?"
Lexi looked confused for a second, "I don't know, I mean I'm still all confused but I know that I wasn't born here. I can't quite remember where from, it's like I can see it but it's all hazy and foggy. It's just so frustrating. Anyway the hut is up ahead where we will start. I need you to call your sword."
"Like I said earlier I don't know how."
"Kylie listen to me you are a holy warrior, just picture your sword and call it towards you. It should appear." She tried but still nothing happened after several minutes of standing there with her arm outstretched she sighed in frustration.
"This isn't working, I feel like an idiot. It's not like I can say 'come forth my sword' or 'here swordy' what am I doing wrong. I am picturing it but still nothing."
"You are holding yourself back. You are self-doubting. Clear your mind you can do this I have faith in you. You need to have faith in yourself. Here try this; close your eyes, shut everything else out, take a deep breath and let it out." Kylie did as she was told and Alexa smiled as Kylie was exhaling the sword appeared in her hand, she opened her eyes and smiled. "The more you practise the easier it would be and soon you will be able to…" Lexi held her hand out and her own sword appeared.
"Show off." Ellie muttered Lexi ignored her as she led them over to the small hut, she was surprised to see that the training gear was already set up outside the hut. Holiday moved over to the hut taking a seat on the step in front. As Lexi began training Kylie. At first they were both sort of awkward neither one used to it but as the day continued on Lexi had found her footing and was actually rather good at training Kylie and Lexi had to admit Kylie was a fast study.
"So what does Jasiah want?" Holiday asked after a while of watching her train Kylie Lexi turned and looked her she let Kylie continue practising on the dummy in front of her. She moved over and stood leaning against the wall.
"He used to be like me…or I think he did. Then he turned his back on our code…we protect the innocent and he went against that hurting people. We hunted the demons that stroll the earth he teamed up with them... He killed someone close to me. If he is coming here, he wants Kylie."
"And you." Holiday pointed out
"He knows I will never join him, even if my memory is hazy and I am still getting my barings so to speak I would never turn my back on the innocent." Lexi stated
"You think I will?" Kylie asked a little angry that Lexi thought so low of her.
"From what I hear about you I know you won't. but you are not me, he does not want you for you to join him although he will try to win you over probably by promising to leave those you love alone. Don't believe him. The thing is he won't need you to be alive, he wants your power…you have yet to be claimed…your power is still growing. He can simply take it."
"Why do I get the feeling by when you say take you don't mean he will simply take my powers."
"In order for him to take your powers he has to kill you. There is a whole ritual thing for it…I don't know how I know that."
"What do you mean claimed?" Holiday asked now that Kylie had stopped practising as she processed what she had learnt.
"Right now Kylie's power is just starting to grow. It usually takes five years for it to develop properly after it is sort of like a graduation ceremony where your path is revealed. The path of light but ones soul can become corrupt an chose the path of darkness." Lexi stated moving over to Kylie she held her hand out over her chest she freaked out when she started to glow. "You have already proven where your path is heading. You are not there yet…he can sense it. He knows your power is vast and when you reach your full potential you will be a threat. One way to stop this threat, go for you while you are not ready. Your defences are weak, right now you can only access this power when someone innocent is in harms way. You cannot protect yourself, that is why we must train." Lexi stated she once again got Kylie working on basic movements with the sword.
"It is getting late we should be heading back." Holiday stated after a couple of hours of training Kylie now knew the proper stance for holding her sword and three basic defensive moves.
"Yes, your husband can be somewhat intimidating." Lexi agreed looking around the clearing before looking at Ellie who was lying on some long grass. "We should head back." She stated Ellie got up stretching as she did before leading the way back.
"So do I get a wolf dog?" Kylie asked walking next to Lexi
"Not sure." Lexi replied
"You really need to remember." Kylie stated
"About the wolf dog?"
"No about everything, you should know your past. You're worried about something." Kylie stated
"Not for the lack of trying but it is like there is a block on my memories. I think I knew Gabriel."
"The angel from the bible?" Kylie asked
"Yes."
"You think you might be an angel?"
"It makes sense, even though I don't have wings."
"Don't you?" Kylie asked she remembered Alex had wings then again Alex didn't have gaps in her memory. She didn't know what the end game for this was but wouldn't it be a good thing to have an angel on their side if they are going up against demons? She needed to speak with her father. "We should make a trip to the falls." Kylie stated
"The other campers are scared of the falls."
"We aren't like them, its peaceful. You might find your answers there." Kylie replied they were now back in the camps forest as Kylie looked in the direction of the falls.
"Answers would sure be nice." Lexi mumbled looking at Ellie hoping she would have something to say.
"You are different this time." Ellie stated not at all helpful.
"The sun has already set." Holiday stated
"Your husband is…" Lexi didn't finished seeming Burnette was in front of Holiday checking her over as Lucas had Kylie in a hug. "here." Lexi finished "Right, Kylie get some rest we continue training tomorrow. You also have to keep your end of the bargain."
"I will, that is why we will hike up to the falls at sunrise." Kylie stated
"You're going to the falls?" Lucas asked even though Kylie could see he wanted to ask more questions.
"A deal is a deal and the falls are the best place for us." Kylie replied "Night Holiday, Burnette, Lexi…oh, she's already gone." Kylie mumbled seeing that Lexi and Ellie were no where to be seen. The four of them made their way back to camp.
