Chapter Five
Meanwhile…
FBI Office…
Don entered the meeting room with fellow Assistant Director Ryan Michaels, who was in charge of the Boston office, as Michaels wanted to compare notes on a case that seemed similar to one of the cases in LA.
As Eppes entered the officer he noticed one of the newer agents was waiting for him in front of the office. Don recognized him as Agent Johnson, who recently transferred from the New York office.
'Wonder what he wants right now.' Don thought to himself
Before Don could ask him, Johnson sprinted to the Assistant Director and then just stopped short before accidentally running into him.
"Assistant Director, I got a message for you from Merrick."
"What did he say?" Don asked, now just confused
"Nothing other than he wanted to be patched into your meeting with Michaels and that he wants to kept in the loop as well."
"Fine, as long as he doesn't interrupt too much, I'm fine with that," Don said, annoyed that Merrick wants to join a meeting that he thought was just going to be him but that seems to be the way of things with Merrick.
When Don went into the office where Michaels was, he immediately noticed that Ryan was slumped over to the side and a wave of fear and concern took Don over as he raced to check the man.
"Ryan, can you hear me?" Don asked frantically as he was checking his pulse, relieved but still concerned that he picked up a faint one.
Before Don could check for blood or anything else, a cloth was forced upon him and after struggling for a few minutes, he finally blacked out. Just as he was losing consciousness, he took a look at Johnson, who was holding the cloth and the rogue agent seemed to be saying something but he couldn't make it out.
'You won't get away with this!' Was all he could think before he blacked out as Johnson started dragging him to the elevator.
Johnson AKA Darin Thorne knew he had a limited amount of time, as someone could still come in and interrupt him.
'Still,' Darin thought arrogantly, 'They wouldn't be able to do anything, not against me anyway.'
Just as he was waiting for the elevator, another one opened to reveal Charlie and Alan with Jack and Roger arriving with their mysterious acquaintance at the same time from the doorway.
