Chapter Seven
Present…
Darin was really surprised to see all these people in front of him, as he couldn't believe that anyone would have found out about his involvement until some time later but when he saw Archer, he realized that the man had been going behind his back and feeding information to other people.
'It doesn't matter, they don't stand a chance against me.' Darin thought to himself
Darin didn't account for Archer, as he didn't think the guy would be the type of person who could sell others out. Darin isn't a chess master like his father was but he was good enough to take his father out and take over the family business.
He was determined to prove himself, no matter what he had to do to ensure that people understood that.
"Give it up Darin," One of the mystery men said
"Assistant Director Eppes is going with me, whether you like it or not," Darin said, smiling to himself as he reached for something to help him leave
Before he could, however, Charlie suddenly charged towards Thorne, surprising everyone, even Charlie, as he had never done that before. Darin was knocked out cold in a matter of a couple seconds.
"Where did that come from?" Jack asked
"Adrenaline, I think," Charlie said as he went to check on his brother before laying his eyes on Arthur March
"Professor March?" Charlie said in surprise
"I know, I have a lot of explaining to do…" March started to say
"You are darn right you do!" Alan said angrily as he went towards Charlie and a still unconscious Don
"I will call an ambulance…" Jack said, then he noticed the other unconscious man in the room, "Better maker that two."
"You guys better explain things when we get to the hospital," Charlie said as he checked Don's pulse
"Oh we will and then some," March said, nervous as to how he was going to explain some of the things that happened to him after he was taken
'It's for the best that they know everything I know,' He thought, 'Besides what more could those people do to me more than they already have?'
Author's Note: hope I didn't make anyone OOC.
