Chapter Sixteen

Don was still feeling groggy but he was feeling much better, though he was still a little confused as to what had happened to him. One minute a rogue agent was knocking him out and now he is in the hospital recuperating. Though he was glad that his family and friends were there and that Ryan was doing better, as he wondered what was going on.

He was also happy to see that Nikki and Edgerton stopped by and he hopes that when this is all over, they can all catch up as it has been months since he had last saw them but first things first.

"What happened?" He asked

Charlie was the first one to speak, as he was still processing everything too but he wanted Don to know what was going on.

"I first want to say that I am so glad you are okay and, second, Darin Thorne tried to kidnap you."

"Wait that rogue agent was Darin Thorn?" Don asked in surprise

'How did he slip past us?' Don wondered

"Plus, there are several things that have been happening since you passed out," Colby said

They proceeded to tell Don everything that they know so far and the current situation with Archer and that the Holdens were sent back to the FBI building until they could figure out the best option to protect them.

"Colby, David, are you guys sure you are fine?" Don asked

"Yes, Don, we are, don't worry about it." Colby said, both amused and touched that despite what happened to his boss, he was still more worried about his colleagues when he heard about the explosion.

"Okay, so what now?" Don asked

"I sent out a BOLO for Archer, or whoever he is, and we are using blockades to make sure he does not get a chance to get out of town," Megan said, with a tone of anger that none of them had heard in a long time.

"We'll get him Megan," Don said, trying to reassure her

"I know, I just hope he hasn't left town," She said

"Is there something else bothering you?"

"I just can't believe we didn't realize that Archer could be that dangerous, as we don't know anything about him."

"Don't beat yourself up, Megan," Colby said, you were only acting on the limited information that we had at the time."

"I hope you are right," Megan said

'And that the mistake won't cost us dearly either,' She thought to herself
