False/True Love 9: Her Smile

Whatever the reason why Raku strangely felt a sudden of happiness when he saw Chitoge in front of the door, he have no clue why is that. Maybe because it's been awhile since she visits him in his house, even though she only often visit him before just to ask for a fake date to lessen Claude's suspicion. Now that she's here, what is her reason? Because… it's impossible that the reason why she is here is to asked him out because it's already night day.

"Oi Chitoge what are you doing here? It's already late." The first question that Raku asked to her while they are walking inside the house now.

"I'm with dad, he wanted to visit your father, and since I'm with him since this afternoon I decided to go with him." Chitoge answered and he thought, Oh so her father is what she's talking about earlier that much important than me. Che!

Just by remembering those words comes from her mouth really irritates him. But the moment he looks at Chitoge, the irritation coagulating within him faded. Once again, he saw that beautiful smile of Chitoge, but somehow that smile makes him feel weird. No. He means no matter how beautiful her smile, it somehow makes him feel like she's smiling in a weird way. Like there's something behind those smile.

"Oi Chitoge, you look so cheerful, why? You even have a beautiful smile that is weird." Raku remark at her and look away blushing when Chitoge face him with thoughts, at least he praise me even just for today.

"Who do you think you are calling weird? You beansprout…" She acted annoyed but then continued what she's going to say, "Is it weird for me to be happy that I can get what I wish for this coming Christmas?" Chitoge's smile becomes more beautiful than earlier. It really is weird even though he knows that Chitoge can be really excited even for little things. But sometimes, he can't really guess if what she's showing is true. It looks true, but it felt weird, for him. Why does she have to be so good in acting what she wanted to show than express what she really felt? Urg.

"And what wish is it?" He asked in curiosity. Although he can't fully understand what's with her weird smile, he can't avoid feeling happy seeing her this way. Seeing her excited and happy over every little things is one of her cute asset, seriously.

"You'll know, soon…" She grinned at him and look back in their way inside the house, "Anyways, how's your review session with Kosaki-chan?"

A sweat drop showed at the back of his head. Sure he learned from Onodera, but not confident enough to answer her that everything's fine. He's not even sure how much he learned because of the gorilla woman invasion happening in his head, which looks like happening again even though that woman is already standing right in front of him. Ugh… why does she always have to flashed in my head in instant, and won't go away anymore. And because he started drifting back again in his thoughts, he didn't manage to give Chitoge his answer, so he receive a smack on his head from her.

"Your face, you look like you didn't learn anything." Chitoge said in her poker face while crossing her arms in her chest, "I can't believe that you just wasted Kosaki-chan's effort and time just to teach you to make sure you can get a better exam result in our exam tomorrow. How dare you, beansprout! What if you get a lowest score in the exam? Do you want Kosaki-chan to think that she didn't help you enough to pass the exam, even though I'm sure that it's your fault for not paying attention with her teaching because… you are too focused with other things!?"

Chitoge ended her long conclusion of what she think might happen if Raku really did waste Onodera's precious time. And though Chitoge lowered her voice in the last part of what she said, Raku still heard it. What does she mean that I'm focused with other things? He thought that it's impossible that Chitoge is a mind reader, and there is no way he will let her read his thoughts, if ever. Does she have other ideas when she said it? What does she think he was thinking?

"Huh? There's no need to worry, I can review over again tonight to show her that her effort and time is not wasted." Raku superiorly said with confident smile in his lips while his eyes are close. That's why he didn't get the chance to see that Chitoge's face expression change. From having a sweet smile turn to a bitter smile, but then restore again her sweet smile.

"Good. But just to make sure you can do it, I'll help you in your review while I'm still here. So come on, let's go in your living room so we can start and finish quick." Chitoge ordered him and started walking towards the way to the living room; he just let her and follow.

And just like what Chitoge said, they start reviewing. She even test her first if he learn something from Onodera, thankfully he really did absorb some of what she teach to him in the time he tried his best to focus. After reviewing half of the needed lessons, they take a break; they ate the snacks that Ryu brought for them before they start. It's been an hour and Raku feels like the house is too quite to be true. They are in a yakuza house, and those guys living with Raku is one of a hell noisy. So why is he having a feeling like he is alone with Chitoge in the house? Like there is no one around to watch them in secret and then tease them after. He is getting nervous at the thoughts that he is alone with her, but even though he feel that way, there something within him that making him feel at ease and content; and irritation. Irritation because Chitoge kept on smacking him on his head whenever he doesn't get what she is teaching and every time she'll notice that his mind is somewhere elsewhere.

Well, at least what Chitoge's doing, can make him focus in reviewing and stop him thinking much about her weirdness. It's weird, he never thought that he can more focus in his study with Chitoge, in a sadist way. Maybe it's because she is always reminding him to focus first in his study, before thinking over something. But most all… she is reminding him to do his best to show Onodera that what she did just to tutor him was brought forth. Now, he really feels like Chitoge is pushing him to Onodera, that she is scheming something. If really ever he gets a good result in the exam, he thinks that Chitoge much deserve to have his thanks. It's not like he doesn't appreciate Onodera's, because he's still learn from her. It's just; it's Chitoge that did well for him to focus in his study without worrying anything in their study session. Because no matter how much he denied it, he knows in himself that when she's having a study session with Onodera, he really can't focus because of the girl smiling at him now, Chitoge. Chitoge. Chitoge. Chitoge.

He's in love with Onodera, and he's mind should be filled with her face, her name, her memories. But why's his mind too focus with Chitoge?

Ahhhhhhh… Raku screamed in his mind, he is starting to get confuse about his feelings. Why do I sounds like I want Chitoge, that even though no matter how sadist her way to help me, I appreciated her. This cannot be! She's right! Everything that I'm doing right now is for Onodera, not for her; but for… Onodera.

"Finally done." Chitoge stand up from her sit and stretch out her arms in the air, then her father, Ardelt enters the living room with Raku's father.

"Chitoge we're going home." He informed his daughter then look at Raku, "How you doing Raku?"

"Fine, I guess." Raku respond with a small smile in his lips.

"Hmm… well, we have to go. Anyways, thank you so much for taking good care of my Chitoge." Just like Chitoge, Ardelt has a good smile in his lips, but somehow his eyes looks sad. Without a second though, Raku's gaze turn to look at Chitoge in her eyes, observing if he can see anything like with her father, but too bad, just like her smile, her eyes looks happy too.

"There's no need to thank me for that, Kirisaki-san, I'll see you off then." Raku offered and lead them with Chitoge walking beside him.

Walking going to the front door, Chitoge and Raku are in front of Ardelt facing their back, that way he can see them arguing about what they just studied in the living room. He can't also help not to smile watching his daughter preaching Raku like she is very well mature in life. She is also preaching him about taking their friends effort for granted, and he guess that they were talking about that girl that he knows their childhood friend too ten years ago. Then the happy smile that he had turn bitter, he can see how happy Chitoge beside the guy standing with her, but he know, deep down her, she is sad, she's in hurt and if it's because of Raku, he is not sure but he can guess he is.

"Bye, darling, good luck tomorrow." Chitoge reminded him when he lowers down the glass of the car she was in.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Raku said not interested, "Be careful on your way home."

For the last time, Chitoge gave him a smile, a sincere one. He smiles back at her and wave his hand when their car started to drove away from his house. Why is everything so weird today? She's weird. He's weird. Her smile is weird. He's having a strange weird feeling towards her. Her actions' weird. And he's feelings for Onodera is getting vague and it's weird, at least for him.

Still, he can get her off of his mind, the gorilla woman invasion.

I wonder what's behind those smiles.
