False/True Love 15: Another Gift

It's 6 o'clock in the evening when their party ended. Onodera, Ruri, Shu and Tachibana leaves together. While Tsugumi is in the dining hall, helping the maids cleaning. She actually doesn't need to help them but she insisted because she wants to give Raku and Chitoge time together. They are in the balcony, both wanted to take a fresh breeze air while taking their break before going to Raku's house. Looking outside the surroundings, both Raku and Chitoge are thinking about the first time he and their friends went to her house. And then the gift he gave to her, also the conversation they had before at the exact balcony where they are now.
"Raku do you remember what I asked to you before here?" There's a smile in Chitoge's lips when she asked him but her eyes is still looking outside the surroundings.
"Y-Yeah." Raku shortly answered her.
"If ever you found out now who your promise girl is, do you will still like her?" Chitoge seriously asked still not looking at Raku.
"I-I'm not s-sure… anymore." He truthfully answered thinking that Onodera might be his promise girl. So he's not sure anymore.
Even though he knows that Chitoge, Tachibana and Yui have a key, he really think that Onodera might be his promise girl because of her attitude and how she acts. But if think thoroughly it can also be Chitoge because in his memory that girl has a long hair. And the color of the eyes are either black or brown and without his knowing, Chitoge's eyes before is brown before it turn to blue when she is growing up. And then the reason behind why Chitoge is wearing the ribbon and his scar in his forehead. There are leads that pointing Chitoge to be his promise girl, sadly, he doesn't know about it. It might really be Chitoge, he just can't imagine her to be his promise girl because her attitude and action are way too out different with his promise girl. But people change when they grow, right?
As for Tachibana, he knows that she can't be his promise girl, because when he met her again, even though he didn't immediately recognize her because of changing her style, he still manage to remember who she is when she show her true attitude and how she really acts when they where still kids. He even called her 'Mari,' the name he use to call her. That's why he is sure she is not her. As for Yui, he is also sure she's not her because he knows her very well. And as he remember he and the promise girl is in the same age, but Yui is older than him. Whatever the reason why the two of them has a key, it maybe because they are the person who will help him to remember the real girl he had the promise. It's just like the story of the book they all know, the story where there are four girls that has a key but the other three only have it to help the princess and the prince to be together again.
Raku sigh. He is already getting confuse about his feelings towards the person he likes and he doesn't know if he like in what way. And thinking about his promise girl is adding up now in his confusion. What if he just thought his promise girl is Onodera but it actually Chitoge? Still, he think he's answer will be the same. He's really not sure… what to feel about his promise girl.
"Hmm… why are you not sure now?" Chitoge asked and finally face him. It seems it interest her to hear his reason.
"I'm not sure myself. Maybe because its been too long since then and I can't still remember her… that my f-feelings are now c-changing…" Raku told her his reason. He remember that Chitoge is also the first girl who he shared this promise girl topic that's why he is somewhat comfortable to tell her his reason.
"Hmm… that's shocking. I really thought you are so obsess to her to the point you will choose her over the girl you currently like." Chitoge is slightly laughing when she remembered the time that Raku got an amnesia and the only thing he can remember is her.
The way she said it feels like she is just mocking Raku and there are no other meaning why she bring up the topic. In Raku's point of view in what Chitoge is showing, the only reason why she asked it is because she just got curious and wanted to know his answer, and the reason she wanted to know it is because they are already talking about it. Nothing more nothing less. Raku didn't manage to respond at Chitoge's answer. Is he really that obsessed to his promise girl? Is he really going to do something like that?
"Raku let's go." Chitoge slap him hard at his back, "Dad send me a message, he said he can't pick us here because he already go straight to your house, so let's get going."
"How about Tsugumi, is she not coming with us?" Raku asked while following Chitoge walking outside the house.
"Youre mind went off somewhere again, no? The maid said she already left a minute ago." Chitoge answered him with her poker face and Raku made excuses.
They are now walking towards the direction going to Raku's action. The wind breeze touching their skins made Raku touches the scarf around his neck and smile. He fixed it and cover his mouth using it. He then put his hand in his pocket and cough to get Chitoge's attention and she face him wondering.
"You really are not good in doing what other girls can do. A housewife's work, something like that." Raku said when she look at Chitoge that is now lifting her right hand clenched in annoyance.
"If you are just going to insult me, will you just shut your mouth?" Chitoge said controlling her annoyance. She loosen the clench in her hand and just put it in her waist.
"Though this gift really is the best gift I've ever receive." Raku smiled at the back of his scarf and left Chitoge blushing.
Chitoge then followed him praising herself to him. They are chatting while teasing each other on their way until they reach the house. It's already 8:30pm when they arrive and the first two people who greet them are Claude and Ryu who looks like getting along well — more like trying hard to get along. Chitoge and Raku just laughed to saw that at least their family members are trying their best.
After Claude and Ryu greeted them they leaded the way going to the dining hall. The moment they enter the hall, a loud greetings from all the members that can almost be heard in the neighborhood, welcome them. In the forepart of those people, the boss of the gang and the yakuza, are sitting with Chitoge's mom. Raku smiled when he saw how happy Chitoge to see her mom. She hurriedly run towards her family and tightly hug them. After watching them Raku also approached and greet them.
Since the member of every family is now complete, they then started their party. There are some performing their talents that's why Chitoge, Raku and everyone are enjoying the party. And when there's no one else to perform anymore, the yakuza's shouted the name of their Bocchan, telling him to sing a song for them. Raku is always doing it, but because of Chitoge being forceful, he somewhat felt embarrassed especially in front of her parents. Then he remembered their new year celebration with Chitoge, where he sang a enka song, he can't forget her shock reaction that time when she see that he can actually sing. Because Chitoge is being forceful the yakuza, also the gang, suggested her to accompany Raku in performing and she willingly did it and pull Raku with her. For the first time, Raku is performing shyly in front of those guys. He is singing a song while Chitoge is just clapping her hands and happily looking at him that makes him feel self-conscious and his face is starting to flush in a scarlet.
Everyone's performance ended and in 30 minutes the clock will rang in 12 am, the time they agreed to give their gifts. But since they have many people in their family they decided to start giving their gifts. Most of them are handing their gifts to the youngster and they happily taking it. And Chitoge blissfully take the best gift she wanted, her parents time to spend with her.
After they finish giving their gifts, a sudden silent covered the hall as if everyone is waiting for them to give something with each other. Raku notice it and get alarmed at their gaze.
"I already gave my gift to her." Raku nervously answered thinking that they maybe starting to doubt their relationship again. Then he faced Chitoge when he remembered her telling she has another gift for him.
"That's right, it's right here in my head." Chitoge pointed the haloband in her head. She didn't put it away anymore after Raku put it there.
"Ooooh~ so that's his gift, that really made you more beautiful Ojou. Bocchan really is good in picking gift." Ryu commented when he gets the reason why Chitoge is not wearing her usual red ribbon.
"Well, just this time, I agree with Ryu-san." Chitoge laughed and Raku smiled to hear her agreeing about what Ryu said. The Chitoge face him with a smile.
"My another gift for you Raku… actually everyone already knows it…" Chitoge started that made Raku somewhat getting confuse but didn't asked anything and just waited for her to continue, so she did, "it's not a thing, but I'm sure you will be really happy about it."
Raku can't explain what to feel about what Chitoge is trying to say. If it's not a thing, that mean… There's only one thing that Raku can think, her christmas wish… is that it? Then Raku's mind almost got blank when she finally said it.
"At exactly 12:01am, Dec. 25, I'm here to let you know that our fake relationship ends here. And we don't have to worry about anything anymore, my father and your father already explained everything, and everyone agreed that they won't cause anymore trouble in the town. That means we can do everything we want now. Yehey!" Chitoge happily announce while everyone in the hall is waiting for Raku's reaction. They are too silent that cause for Raku to only hear Chitoge's cheerful voice, so he look straight into her eyes.
"Wait… I…" Raku whispered in a very low voice so Chitoge didn't heard anything. He doesn't even know where to start and what to say.
"Speechless huh." Chitoge giggled at him but Raku still didn't respond and now the whole hall is in complete silent.
Because it's already getting awkward for everyone, the bosses decided to finished the party and everyone just agreed. Raku's father invited Chitoge's parents to stay for the night but Adelt refuse and bid thanks and good bye to them. Raku's father and Adelt together with Chitoge leave the hall first leaving Chitoge's mom standing now in front of Raku.
"I asked you before if your feelings for her is really just an act. Now I'll asked you again: what are your real feelings for Chitoge?" After asking him she leave him alone and didn't wait anymore for his answer.
Raku can't still believe that their fake relationship ended now. He knows that he should be happy but he can't because he didn't thought it will end without him knowing it. And because what he knows and remembered is their fake relationship will end the same day of their graduation. That's what he expected to happen, but seems he's wrong.
The next day, in the afternoon, Raku heard that Chitoge's family return to America. He panicked for a moment but get to calm down when he heard that they are just going to spend their new year there.
What are my real feelings for Chitoge? Raku repeated the question that Chitoge's mom asked to him.

AN: I actually have no plan to mention Yui in this fanfic and the promise girl anymore, but I guess that part really is important and the main plot in the story of the manga so I decided to add it XDD.
