False/True Love 16: Pro-Act

The New Year ended, attending school is starting. The time while Chitoge is away in Japan... she is the only person stuck in Raku's mind. He still don't know what the answer is in Chitoge's Mom question the last time they met - no, it's not like he still don't know, it's like he's in his in denial stage even though he already have his answer in his mind. Those days when his mind is in so much confusion, he tried his very best to think that there is nothing that is confusing his already confuse mind, especially that New Year Eve where he is with his friends - obviously without Chitoge, and Tsugumi who is always with her. When his friends asked him about her, the only thing he said why she was not around is because she was in America with her family. Even though he wanted to open up what happened on their family Christmas party with them, especially with Shu, he can't seem to do so because of still not believing that the ending of their 'fake relationship' actually ended... in a wrong time and moment. He can't seem to accept that it ended without his consent and he just felt like it's ending was still not confirm because he didn't even get a chance to react/take action that time. That's why he wants a confirmation, an assurance that he really didn't heard everything wrong.

Since that Chirstmas party and until now, thinking about Chitoge and how he truly feels about her is the only thought filling his mind. Raku is now near at the Bonyari High School and can't stop to be tense with thoughts running in him: is Chitoge coming in school today? Will she talk to me the way she talks to me before? What will I do if she talks to me? And what will I do if she didn't talk to me?

There are more questions running in his mind. And having lots of thoughts made him mess with his own hair. It's driving him mad, really. And so he thought the students are already looking at him weirdly because he looks constipated while thinking and walking back and forth at the entrance of the building. Honestly, he can't even decide if he will enter the building already or not. Until someone tap his shoulder at the back. And ever though he doesn't know who it was, he assumed it's her that made his heart race. Now he is thinking if he will face that someone or not, but before he can even decide, the disappointment already written in his face when he heard its voice.

"I-Ichijou-kun." He faced the oh-so-very-familiar voice for him, without showing his disappointment, Onodera.

"Y-Yo Onodera." He even greeted her with a small smile in his lips.

"Uh... are you waiting for Chitoge?" Onodera asked with hesitation in her voice. She is aware that they've gotten closer now than before, and that hurt her of course. But what if she found out that their 'fake relationship' already ended? What will she do?

"H-H-H-H-Huh? N-N-No, I-I'm not." Raku almost panic at the thought of him waiting for her, I don't even know how to face her, he thought and sigh that didn't get away from Onodera's sight though she just let it side.

"So wanna go together to the room?" Onodera invited and Raku agreed though he still felt like he's still not ready. What is Chitoge is already in the classroom? What is he going to do?

Standing in front of their locker, Raku opened his and took his school shoes then put his outside shoes in the locker. After closing it he looked back at Onodera who is also standing in front of her own locker. Looking at her, he felt like it made his already confused mind get more confuse. Really, what can he do to find out what he truly feels for Chitoge when what he always knows was there is this girl that he likes? It's not just a normal like because he ultimately like her. And the fact that he likes her for so long is adding up to make it more hard to think. But... does like and love same? Didn't he like Chitoge too? If like and love isn't the same, then who does he love?

"Ichijou-kun, let's go." Raku manage to smile in front of Onodera despite of having a hard thought.

When he saw Onodera in front of him, he did gave her a warm smile thinking, I should be thankful that every time she is the one with me, though it really different from what I feel before the important thing is I can feel there's nothing to worry about whenever she is around giving me her thoughtful smile.

Though she is not sure what's with Raku's seemed relief smile, Onodera smiled back at him before he invited her to go to the classroom. And when they reach the room, Ruri's eyes almost twinkled in amusement when she saw them coming together. She was ready to teas Onodera once she walks towards her but that already back-fired when she notice that Raku seems looking for something - more like someone, in the classroom. And so, Ruri's smile fade and thought, please tell me I'm wrong... he's not looking for Chitoge-chan, doesn't he?

But no matter how much she contradicted it, she knows that there's no way that he is looking for other person other than his 'fake girlfriend.' Not good for Ruri, but she guessed it correct. The moment Raku opened the door and enter the room, his eyes is already roaming around inside the room looking for her while thinking how is he going to act in front of her. But just like earlier, not seeing her anywhere inside the room disappoint him. When they sit in their assigned chair, Raku rested his chin in his desk thinking if Chitoge is coming because it's only five (5) minutes before the bell rang. Or maybe she's still in the America. Raku began to think if she still has a plan to go back or not anymore. And his own thoughts of her not coming back give Raku a sudden pain and anxiousness. Having serious thoughts also made him almost fall in his chair when the door suddenly opened; almost banging it, and then Chitoge shows herself with her famous beautiful smile. Raku froze in his chair, he is indeed surprised but he is also relief and thankful that she is there in front of the class, greeted by their classmates. He really hates the thoughts that run in his mind. He is indeed thankful... and happy to see her and her smile again.

"Good morning everyone." Chitoge energetically and cheerfully greeted everyone that made their classmates satisfied.

"It's seems like you really had a great New Year to me, Kirisaki-san, hmm?" One of their classmate commented with a questioning look but she just let it and only gave a smile before she started walking towards her assigned chair.

Continuing on her way towards her chair beside Raku made his heart beat faster while his eyes are lock at her. He somewhat felt like he is being drowned at her gaze and he really felt like dying for having too much heart race - yes, it may sound gay, but what can he do? That's how what he is feeling right at the moment. Does he miss her so much that he can't even look away at her even for a split second? Her face, her blue eyes, her yellow with peach hair, her ribbon, and her smile, everything about her made him lock his eyes on her, only for her. He felt so happy to see them again. And the only reason why he can't take a look at her face now is because she is already standing beside him. She greeted Shu, next is Ruri, and then Onodera and they greeted her back. Then Raku's uneasiness doubled at the thought that Chitoge was going to snob him. But it seems like he is wrong at the thought that it will doubled his uneasiness because it actually tripled it the moment Chitoge look down to face him face-to-face with her dazzling smile that never fails to make him blush.

"Good morning Raku." She even greeted him and tapped him at the shoulder that made him feel like there's a sudden electric that flows in him. He actually wanted to stop himself from smiling because he still has the thoughts about the ending of their fake relationship but it seems like seeing her overwhelmed him too much that it even made him forgot how confused he was for the fast few days; and so he smiled back happily at her.

Does this mean we are as fine as before? Thinking that they were just fine as before and there's nothing to be change and to be awkward Raku breath in relief.

However, getting overwhelmed at her coming back seems like made Raku also forgot that it is Chitoge we are talking about; the girl who was actually a pro in acting.

And that's how slowly... being with her until the school hours end... he notice that there's something wrong... something that changed. Their relationship as a friend is indeed fine, but he knows... he can see… and he can feel that something really changed in them. It maybe not that obvious because they are still hanging out with each other because of their circle of friends, but he knows that the distance in their closeness when they were into acting as 'fake lovers' is budding. It means acting is not necessarily needed anymore. And its means that being chummy and the closest guy with her are not important also. She doesn't have to be with him and he doesn't have to be her too, anymore. Raku thinks it's too sudden to act distance that's why Chitoge is doing it slowly... but surely. Not too distance but still, it's different if they are not as close as before anymore. Can he do it? He is already too used being always with her and her being the closest girl with him.

Seriously, why can't he believe that their acting have already ended? Does he really can't believe it or he really just doesn't want to believe it happened?

If he doesn't want to believe it, why? Is it because it's too sudden to actually end it? Because he is not ready yet? Then when he will be ready? When his feelings are not in complete disorder anymore? He still doesn't know. Really, how long does Raku have to think about how he feels?

How can he make everything clearer in him in an instant?

If he only knows ways - and if possible, the most easiest way - he will do it just to make his mind at ease and peace.

AN: Don't you guys think Raku's feelings for Chitoge is developing now? Kyaaaaaa~ I really like the #RakuMarika chapter because in that part Marika seems like helping them mwahahaha it's really like she is one of the person who will going to help Raku to find his promise girl XDD. Aww~ first Raku realize that he feels natural to have Chitoge next to him and then he realize he was happy to be with her. What's the next thing he will realize? Kyaaaaaa~
