False/True Love 17: Truth Hurts

It's been 2 weeks since they started attending school. Those 2 weeks that the whole students in their class were together again was slowly noticing the changes in Chitoge and Raku's relation. Yes, they are still always together, but something about their atmosphere being together really changed. They are not getting alone moment together anymore, it's like they are only hanging out together with their friends around. They are also not used seeing Raku and Chitoge are not arguing anymore with only little matters just like before. In their class, it's actually one of the reasons why they think they have a good relationship; seeing them arguing and getting chummy after with each other is the sweetest part of course. But it seems like Chitoge changed a lot, though it's really good to see that she always have a good mood and only got annoyed at Raku once in a while. Some of them also notice that every class dismissal, they are not going home together anymore and Chitoge is always the first one to leave with Tsugumi. It's too new for the whole class too sees them that way, that's why most of them really thought that there is something fishy going on in their relationship. Until one day, on their lunch break, everyone in their class seems like intended to stay in their room and then one of them courageously asked Chitoge the question that are killing everyone's curiosity.

"Kirisaki-san, something's fishy with your relationship with Ichijou, seriously, is you two already broke up?" And that really caught everyone's attention. Of course it will since they are talking about the famous couple in their school since their first year days. Even though that classmate of them asked Chitoge in not so serious tone it is indeed a crucial moment for the both of them.

And the person who got more interested on that question is no other than Raku. He felt like getting deaf at the murmurs of their classmates. But one thing's for sure, the only voice he wanted to hear is her voice and her answer on that question. The question that he wanted to ask to her that comes out from their classmate; the question that's been bothering him to asked but didn't know how to do so without looking too affected. Worst part is, everyone heard it and obviously her answer will be heard by everyone also. Raku felt anxious in his chair. He wanted to try answering that question but he doesn't still know what the right answer on that. He is getting scared of hearing what her answer is, in spite of that, he still want to hear clearly if their supposed-to-be 3 years relationship really already ended, not exactly 3 years but 2 years and 7 months.

"Didn't you guys know yet?" Chitoge asked wondering and give a small giggle when the one who asked her shook its head. Really, she's making them suspense waiting for her answer. Even Onodera, Ruri, and Shu are getting uneasy on what her answer is.

"Do you guys also doesn't know yet? Kosaki-chan? Ruri-chan? And Maiko-kun?" She asked and they also shook their heads. Chitoge smiled and then face Raku, "Oh~ I really thought everyone already knew especially Maiko-kun, but guess you didn't mention it to anyone huh."

Bcause of what Chitoge said everyone gets more curious while Raku is finally... but slowly trying to accept the fact that what happened on their party was real. That means, she ended their 'fake relationship' at the wrong moment; in a special occasion of all time. Now that it is clear to him, he can't seem to respond on her. What does she even saying? Does she think that Raku can do that, like he will announce such an unpleasant moment to anyone, well Shu is an exemption. Nonetheless, he still didn't told it to anyone because it still not acceptable, even now. Isn't she thinking that maybe he's having a hard time thinking because of it? Does she think that he got very happy when that happens? She's looking down on him way too much. If she only knew what's on his mind — likewise.

"So which is it? Are you still in relationship or not?" Her classmate once again asked impatiently and everyone seems like holding their breath and waiting for her answer. Chitoge laughed a little then clear her throat.

"Well, I think I don't have to answer that and to announce it with everyone, but since it's not that serious relationship but just a 'fake relationship,' yeah we're done." Her answered bewildered everyone when they heard the word 'fake' and that made them more curious. Thus, everyone is now asking her how come that circumstances happened. Raku is outraged to hear that Chitoge actually even told them about their relationship being 'fake'. Trying to act it's nothing while forcibly agreeing and laughing at how Chitoge is explaining what she mean by saying 'fake relationship,' "You see, his family is a yakuza right? And my family is a gang, so our father asked us, but more like forced us to act as a lover to stop the fight between our family members."

Now that it's clearer to Raku and everyone already knew that their 'fake relationship' ended, he was starting to feel like somewhere in him is hurting. The truth really does hurt, doesn't it? It hurts him that he didn't even get a chance to get ready that time. It hurts him to see her and to heard her openly telling to everyone in their class that they relation was fake and done. First she did it in front of their family, and now this. Why does she have to be so unfair? Why didn't she tell him about it before announcing it in front of everyone and before she act the way she wants? Why can she act like it's nothing at all but he can't? She's so unfair, way too much!

What's behind the reason why it suddenly happened? Why Chitoge decide it on her own? He wanted to know. Although he knows that there's no need for explanation why she already ended their fake relationship, he wanted to know what Chitoge is thinking when she planned about it.

Raku agreed to do what's on his mind and stand up from his chair then face Chitoge before he took her hand and said, "Excuse us guys, I'll take her for a moment."

Most of the girls are squealing in his action and getting excited at the thought of what Raku is planning to do. Shu didn't budge to follow them and Ruri and Onodera are still both in shock of what they heard.

"Oy Raku," Chitoge took back her hand. They are now standing in the roof deck near the fence. She faced him and then asked, "Why did you drag me here?"

Chitoge seems compose while Raku are gathering all the courage that he has inside. Silence. For a couple of minutes no one dare to speak until Raku did so.

"Can you tell me what were the reasons why our 'fake relationship' suddenly ended?" The first question that Raku asked that shocked Chitoge but tried to just laugh it off before answering.

"What's the problem if it's sudden? It's already fine, right? We're finally free." Chitoge replied, looking at him directly to show that she is being true in her answer.

"You didn't answer my question. I asked, what's the reason?" Raku asked again and it's making Chitoge feel nervous now.

"Didn't you hear what I said on the party, it's because the members of our family is in peace now, so there's no need for us to worry and to act anymore." Chitoge answered without looking suspicious. Maybe she's right that their family is fine now, but... was that really the reason? There's something in him that didn't want to believe her answer. And he felt like he's looking for another answer.

"If that so, how did that happen? How come everything is now fine between them? How did that happen without my knowing? Why you didn't even tell that something like that happened that something is going to happen? Why do you have to surprise me on the day that I thought was just a normal day with you? I wanted to know, I badly wanted to know the real reason why. Why? Why didn't you tell me about it? It's hunting me. I wanted to know what you said when you found about it, or if you are the one who planned it. I wanted to know how our father convinced everyone to settle things down. I wanted to know why they easily accepted the reason why we have to act and end our fake relationship. I badly wanted to know the reason to have answers in my questions. You know the answers, right? You are so unfair Chitoge! You are the only one I can talk about it but you left me hanging without knowing anything before everything happens. You didn't even warned me to get ready that something unpleasant might happen on the day that everyone is happily celebrating. Chitoge, tell me everything you know before it happened, please. I need to know it. I don't want to ask myself anymore, why it happened and why you didn't talk about it with me, because I know I can't have the answer because you have it all." Raku bursted out and sounds stressed. The moment he spoke at first, he sounds angry, he's loud. But as he goes on speaking, it's slowly getting dull as if he really overly done thinking about it. Those questioning that keep bugging him that he knows only Chitoge can answer. However, it looks like to him she is not going to get what he needed from her.

As a matter fact, the mere knowing that their 'fake relationship' ended without his consent hurts him, what's more if he found out everything behind it. Though he felt a fang of pain in his chest, he's not giving up on seeking for answers to know it. And whatever the reason why he felt that pain and sadness when he actually heard it right that everything already end, he will know it once Chitoge told him the answers. And if possible, he wished to have the answer to know his own feelings for her once she gave him the answers he needed.

"EH?" Chitoge responded lost in herself As if she didn't manage to catch all his questions.

"Is there another reason why you can't tell it to me?" Raku sighed in defeat. He is sure that there's no chance that he can persuade Chitoge if she's hiding something she doesn't want to reveal herself.

"Ojou." Raku look back at the door to see Tsugumi standing there.

"Oh! Tsugumi is picking us already; let's go back to the classroom. Is home room about to start?" Chitoge asked and was about to walk towards Tsugumi but then stop mid-way because of her.

"Ojou, don't you think he have the rights to know everything. I think you have to tell it to him. Also it's for..." But Tsugumi was cut off by her when she immediately run towards her and covered her mouth but pull it back when she realized she didn't act right. She composed herself once again, and act the way how she usually act.

"What are you talking about Tsugumi? What I said in the party is the only reason, there's nothing more." Chitoge said aloud for Raku to hear it. Raku did hear it and smirk, a sweat drop shown in his back head thinking, she's obviously hiding something.

"Aaaaaaah~ it really looks like there is no chance that I can get the reason from you. If that so, I'll make a way to find what you are hiding from me; if there is, Honey." He mockingly gave her a confident smile before he walks towards her and tapped her shoulder. Then he walked passed at them and invited them to go back at the classroom. At least they are still considering each other as friends.

I think I really am the only one making everything difficult for myself. Still, I won't get myself at ease if I can't know the truth. I know it may hurt, but I'm also sure that something will help me to end the confusion in my head and find what my true feelings is.
