Nope still don't own HP or Marvel

"Guys, I hate to break up whatever it is you guys are doing but, we have a situation here." Sam interrupts, gesturing for us to look up, just in time to see a large ship hit Wakanda's dome and explode.

"God, I love this place." The man, who's hands hadn't let me go, groans.

"Don't start celebrating yet. We've got more incoming." Rhodey mutters and I jump, not realizing he was behind us. "They're landing in the trees. Mia, can you-"

"Got it. I'll take the North." I nod and extract myself from James' arms. "Umbraculum Aeria"

Whether it be the fact that saying the incantation and doing the hand movement saves me a bit of energy or, that I want to show off a bit in front of James, is at the back of my mind when I launch myself into the air.

"They're five in a generalized area in the tree line; Northwest." We hadn't had time to test the communicators with magic so, it was a relief when I hear Rogers voice come through with an affirmation.

"How fast can you get to it?" He asks and I smirk.

"Depends, do you want me to fly or run?" I ask, already descending to the ground.

"Whatever's faster."

I hear Rhodes chuckle over the comms.

"Hope none of you are allergic to cats." I hear him soar over me as I go into my Animagus form. I'm halfway when Nat tells me that they're waiting on the Border Tribe to group up.

"Mina? Are you okay out there? We're on our way." I hear James' voice in my ear as my paws beat against the ground.

"Sorry loverboy, she can't answer you. Unless you want to go deaf." I huff even though I know Rhodey's right. These comms weren't made to withstand a big cat's roar.

In the distance, I see two figures walk through the tree line and I slow when hearing the ships approaching.

"She should be here by now. I don't want her here Steve. She should have stayed with Wanda to protect Vision." I just barely hear James' voice over the whirring on machinery and I make my way towards him.

"Buck, she's behind you." Cap coughs when he sees me sitting behind them with a glare. James turns with wide eyes and chuckles nervously.

I revert back to human form and jab a finger into his chest.

"Did you want me there because I would help or because I wouldn't be on the field?" I accuse with a frown. I didn't like being underestimated. Especially not by someone I care about as much as I do James.

"Cap. I have two heat signatures at the trees." Natasha calls the Captain away and he leaves after patting James on the shoulder sympathetically. Rogers had already experienced my temper.

"Well?" I press after a few moments of silence.

"I just got you back." He says finally.

"And I'm not going anywhere. Neither are you." I take my place next to him as Steve makes his way back to us with a sour look on his face.

"Did they surrender?" James asks even though we all know the answer.

"Not exactly." Cap says grimly.

What the hell are those?

The sheer number of the creatures worry me and, as they ram into the barrier, a sudden thought hits me.

"Captain, is Wanda the only one with Vision?" I ask and he nods.

"If they get in behind us. She's the only thing stopping them." I hear Banner add over the comms.

"Then we keep them in front of us." I briefly see the Captain America everyone loves when he stares straight ahead without flinching. I know what he's thinking.

"Wait to open the gate. Cover me." I barely feel James' hand on my arm before I'm running towards the river. "Rhodey, clear them out for me?"

"What the hell are you doing, girl?" He asks while dropping mortars.

"Repello Inimicum. Repello Inimicum. Repello-" A beast gets shot down next to me and I look back towards James, rifle in hand, and give him a thankful smile before returning to the ward. Last time I used this was the Battle of Hogwarts to keep the Snatchers and Death Eaters off of the ground. This could hold them off, but not for long.

Just as the ward completes, a beast tackles me to the ground, teeth barred in my face.

Bombarda Maxima!

The beast goes flying into the ward and dissolves to dust as do any of the other stragglers.

"Open the gate." I call, rolling to the side to avoid getting an arm torn off. At my word, the barrier opens, and I fall back towards my charging allies. The ward holds against the oncoming onslaught and, once I back in the fold, James grabs my arm.

"I love magic." He grins.

"I feel the ward weakening. Get ready." Not a minute later, it dissolves.

"That took out a good portion of them." Natasha's voice comes through the comms. "But, not enough."

I unstick the swords from my back and grin when I feel them vibrating with magic. Their cores wanted blood and I would give it to them. I swing them, slicing through the head off a beast on my left and a trail of magic flings off the blade, digging through the chest of another as firmly as the blade itself did.

That's new.

I cut down a beast that had leapt onto a Wakandan warrior and get a brief moment of clarity. I search the field and watch as Banner and Cap get overwhelmed.

There are too many of them.

"Mina behind you!" I claw digs into my shoulder, and I shove a blade into the beast's neck, watching in horror as another tackles James to the ground.

I fling it off of him before asking him to cover me as I cast a reckless spell.

"Did you have to tell me it was reckless?" He groans, firing past my head, close enough to feel the heat of the bullet. I don't flinch.

Fiendfyre was reckless but, when controlled, it was effective. I cast it without hesitation and feel the beasts of fire's hunger. A The gargantuan serpent of fire weaves its way through the field of bodies, consuming the aliens before slipping off into a dragon, then a lion, an eagle and, soon enough, a troop of magical beasts were attacking.

I pant from the exertion and look at James with a grin.

"Still want me back at the lab?" I tease and he responds by, once again, shooting past my head at an alien.

"Still want me back at the lab?" He mocks, as if we were back at the zoo and not in the middle of a battlefield.

I open my mouth to retort when a beam of light, just like the one from New York, crashes into the battlefield, decimating aliens and Fiendfyre beasts alike.

"Who the hell is that?" I yell, a bit miffed at the fact that now half of my beasts were gone.

I don't have time to gawk, and instead continue my assault.

"Reducto!" A flying axe takes my target and my curse flies into the largest alien on the field, hitting him square in the back. Instead of dying, as most do when hit by a curse of that power, he stumbles slightly and turns towards me angrily.

Oh dear.

I jump out of the way as he flings his weapon towards me and crash into the ground, just barely avoiding the chained axe once more before T'challa knocks in backwards.

"You're Barnes' girlfriend?" He asks in disbelief as I cut through another alien while casting the rock golem-like one back with a flippendo.

"Something like that." I pant, taking a moment to wipe the dirt and sweat from my brow.

"Really?" He shakes his head. "He's currently swinging a raccoon around in a circle."

My mouth forms words but no sound comes out when I spot them. I nod my thanks before running to them, arriving just in time to plunge a sword through a leaping alien.

"How much for the gun?" The racoon asks.

"Not for sale." James answers, causing me to chuckle.

"Then how much for the arm?" The tiny mammal reminds me of George with his persistence as I slice my blade through the air, the wave of magic killing two beasts that were coming for him.

"Scratch that, how much for the swords." The ground shakes suddenly and wildly, almost knocking me to the ground.

"Move." I start, just barely seeing the blades rise from the ground. "Go! Run!" I shove James and he picks up the racoon as we run.

The blades break the surface, sending debris everywhere, and rip through allies and enemies alike before breaking off of one another; two coming straight for us.

I watch as Sam and Rhodes try to shoot them down but, to no avail.

I decide to not tell James that the spell I'm about to use was an experimental one and instead tell him to let go of my arm.

"Mina-" He warns worriedly.

"I've got this, go." I smile, moving my hands, complexly and clumsily.

In reality this was more of a theory than an experiment.

"Please work, please work, please work, please work, Glacias Maxima!"

As the blade gets close, I thrust my hands towards it and squeeze my eyes shut, feeling my entire body go icy.

"That's what I'm talking about Mia!" Rhodey whoops over the comms and I squint an eye open.

Oh thank Merlin I'm not dead.

I laugh and my breath comes out a cloud of ice crystals as I stare at the two, frozen solid, machines.

"Reducto!" The blades shatter when the curse hits and I barely have time to breath before Sam comes over the comms.

"Guys, we've got a Vision situation here."

I bit my lip at the next in a long list of reckless ideas going through my head right now. Debating on whether or not to cross the line I was thinking of.

This is war. Morales can wait.

"Not all of them have eyes. Do you see any with eyes?" I shout and the racoon looks at me before pointing to two on our right. I run towards the beasts and catch their gaze before putting them under an Imperio. They go still immediately, and I leap onto one's back, urging James to do the same.

"Somebody get to Vision!" The Captain yells over the comms.

"Already on it." James replies as I urge both beasts to go full speed towards where Vision was. "This is a lot better than running."

"I'm glad it worked. Never been tried before on aliens." I grin giddily at my success.

"Have you been winging it this whole time?" He yells incredulously.

"Everything since the Feindfyre, yeah." I look over towards him and scoff at his stern face. "It's not like I could practice this. Don't give me that look."

I blast a hole through the trees, making a tunnel for our steeds.

"Are you guys together or something? You're fighting like an old married couple." The racoon groans from his place on James' back.

"Something like that." He answers, sending me a wink. "Has anyone ever told you that you look gorgeous when you stab aliens?"

"Give me a break." The racoon complains and I roll my eyes at James' awful timing.

"Guys, Vision needs backup!" The call goes out just as we break through the clearing and I steer the beast straight into the alien with the spear.

"Go to Banner." I shout, hopping off of the beast and simultaneous cutting its head off. My feet don't hit the ground before I'm slammed into a tree hard enough to disorient me.

"Mi-"

"Go!" I cast bombarda and fling the alien backwards, directly into Steve Rogers.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was on purpose." He heaves, fighting too closely for me to have a clear shot. I pick up the alien's spear and throw it to Vision, who had a better shot than I.

The super bot dispatches the alien and collapses.

I pant, wishing that Ginny were here to heal him and jumping when cold metal grasps my hand.

"It's me." James' voice calms my ragged breath and I lean against him.

"The beasts are retreating." Wanda mutters before crouching beside Vision, who in turn gasps in pain, holding his head.

Just like Harry.

"He's here." My whisper sounds like a scream in the sudden silence.

"Everyone on my position. We have incoming." Rogers calls while scanning the area.

Then, there he is, stepping out of thin air.

"Cap. That's him." Bruce affirms and I act before I think.

"Avada Kedavra!" The curse hits Thanos square in the chest and, though he stumbles, he doesn't go down. It was terrifying.

"Has that ever happened before?" The racoon mutters.

"Once." It's as if it's happening in slow motion as each of my allies are taken down. "James' wait-"

He doesn't and I let out a strangled yell as he's knocked to the ground, drawing the Mad Titan's eyes towards me. I cast curse after curse but, they do nothing.

I have to get him away from Wanda.

As if hearing my thought, an invisible force crashes me against a rock, and I feel my arm snap against the pressure before I collapse to the ground.

I heave myself up, and lean on a tree for support, stumbling over to where James laid in anticipation of what would surely happen.

The shockwave ripped through the forest, pushing me back to the ground.

What happens next is a blur until Vision's body is tossed in front of me and Thor's axe is embedded in Thanos' chest.

Time. There's no time.

I untie my black bag and reach in, grasping the familiar chain and pulling out my old time turner.

"Brooklyn, Ela tuk, tikho." I use Thor's arrival as a distraction and the eagle lands next to me just as James' begins to wake. "It was me James. I did it."

I mutter incoherently as I accio a piece of parchment and a pen, hastily scribbling a note and tying it to Brooklyn's leg.

"Mina, what-"

"Nameri me. Ostavi go. Vŭrnete se v magazine." I wait until Brooklyn bows her head to put the turner on her, dialing it back to two years and one month. "Shte doĭda za teb."

I spin the turner, knowing there was enough power left in it for one more jump, and send her off.

"What did you do?" James asks, helping me stand.

"Enough." I hoped, grasping onto his shirt the resting my head against him, feeling something hard. I look at him and he pulls the small pocket watch from his shirt, handing it to me. "That is actually, for you."

"Wha-" A crack echoes through the forest, followed by a blinding light and my eyes search the area where Thanos had been, James' right behind me, my hand in his.

I could feel the shift in the atmosphere and my heart pounded against my chest.

"Steve? Mina?" Steve and I look at James and I feel his warm hand disappear.

"No, James no, please." I fall to the ground when he does but, while I'm still here, he's gone. I don't know when I start screaming but, I stop when I hear Ginny's voice.

Merlin, no.

"Mia? Something wrong. We- we los- Mia what's happening? I can feel- Hermione, I'm scared I'm-"

I feel the web snap and it shatters what's left of my will.

"I've got- I've got to." Steve's hand on my shoulder brings coherent thoughts to my brain. "I've got to go. Harry and the others. I have to find them."

I can't stand to look at his defeated face but, he squeezes my shoulder. Giving me the okay.

"He kept that with him. Bucky would-" His voice sounds as broken as I feel and I suddenly feel the weight of the watch in my hand, as if it were burning me. "Before every mission, he'd look at it."

I apparate away, not wanting to hear another word.

The Burrow is eerily quiet as I walk its many rooms.

"Mum? Dad?" Charlie's voice echoes through the empty house, followed by a loud crack and I bolt down the stairs, coming face to face with him.

"Mia? What's going on? Where is everyone?"

Harry appears with a crack and falls to his knees, tears streaming freely down his face.

"Teddy. He's gone. He just-"

"Has anyone heard from Ron?" I ask and they both shake their heads.

"Mum said he was staying here. I was at the reserve when people just started disappearing. I came straight here."

I fall to the floor next to Harry, Charlie following soon after.

"I'm tired of being The Boy Who Lived. What's the point if there's nothing to live for?"

Thanos was going to pay for doing this to us.
