AN: Goodness! I don't know how to describe this chapter; repetition of thoughts? Sorry about that. It's like I'm upbraiding what Raku should already notice but he can't notice. And make him looks really confused about everything. Feel free to judge this chapter nyahahaha.

False/True Love 18: Mission: Seeking for Answer

If she doesn't want to tell it, then I'll seek what really happened on my own, that was Raku thinking after he let go all the questions in his mind to Chitoge. He even doesn't have any choice but to look for it himself because he already accepted the fact that he won't get any from Chitoge… even if he begs.

And if he can get what he wanted from Chitoge, then he will seek answer from other. Although Raku doesn't know how and whom he will start, that's his plan. Whatever happens he will do anything to found out what he should know but they won't let him.

"So, what do you want to prove once you knew the truth behind it?" Shu asked Raku. He's been with Raku since dismissal. After Shu heard what happened from Chitoge, Shu join Raku going to his home and talk about it.

What does Raku want to prove? He doesn't have anything to prove to anyone, but he has something to prove to himself. If there is something he wanted to prove, especially to himself, that is what he truly feels for Chitoge. Because until now, he can't still forget the question that Chitoge's Mom asked to him.

"I don't know…" Raku wondered as if thinking of other things. "What I know is there's something I have to find out for myself… to our relation. I really don't know myself!"

"Tell me Raku, do you have feelings for Kirisaki-san?" Shu asked with his serious expression.

"Well, I don't hate her but I also don't like her." Of course saying he doesn't like her is a joke.

"If you don't hate and like her, does it mean you love her?" A small smile is forming in Shu's lips. He can't believe that he's best friend is having a hard situation liking someone now. He thought Onodera is the only girl he had in his heart but guess feelings really will get confusing once someone new came. Liking someone is complicated. But loving someone is more complicated.

"H-Huh? W-What are you s-saying? L-Love? And isn't like and love the same." Raku said, trying to reason out.

"You think so? 'Cause I don't think they are the same. Don't you think that like is for everyone but the love is for one person only. And for me the word 'like' is for friendship and 'love' is for romantic relationship. They are not the same, right?" Shu explained his opinion.

What Shu said made Raku's mind more complicated. He thought he already know what is the meaning of liking someone because of his feelings for Onodera for too long. But it seems like confirming the deeper meaning of liking someone is complicated. And knowing what truly feels is the hardest part. Now that they are talking about it in serious way, Raku felt like he doesn't have any idea what is the true meaning of those two words. Those two words that both have 4 letters and almost seems like have the same meaning is something that in truth is not easy to define. If defining it is not easy, what more in identifying it in feelings towards someone? Liking and loving someone…

"Argh… why are we even talking about that? That's not the issue here. We are talking about you helping me finding information, okay?" Raku seemingly having headache because of their topic; Shu just laughed at him.

"Alright, I understand. Then, I'm going home now." Shu said and stand up from sitting and Raku usher him outside the house and wave good bye.

The next morning, Raku started his plan seeking answers to other people. And the closest people to ask are the member of their yakuza family. He almost asked everyone in their house but it seems like everyone is trying their best to avoid the topic.

Raku sighed and thought, it's really not an easy mission huh. And it's almost like that person, whoever talked to them, did a very good job zipping their mouth tight about that situation. I wonder what are the reasons of that person gave to make those guys agreed to zip their mouth tight. Tch! Is it personal reason?

"Bocchan, if you don't mind, why are you trying to figure out the reason about that? It's not like you two have real feelings for each other, right? You didn't like her in romantic way. And she didn't like you in that way too. And since the day the bosses informed us that the two of you are trying your best pretending for the sake of making peace in each group, we and the gang agreed to just get along from then onwards because we don't want you two to have anymore hard time to lie and pretend in front of us and others. Also to let you two freely like the person who you both have feelings." Ryu gave him an answer. At least he doesn't make excuses to avoid him, though his answers didn't really answer his questions. And why the topic is always turning on whether he likes Chitoge or not. Is it not possible that he just wanted to know (obviously) what they are hiding even though he doesn't like the person involve? Is it necessary that one of them have feelings before knowing the reason? People really are unfair, life is unfair… the world too.

"It's just you guys really suck in hiding something. It's really obvious and that makes me curious. Tch!" Raku stand up and leave the house going to school.

When he arrived at school, Shu already approached him and told him that they will really have a hard time knowing the truth he wanted. The whole day they are at the school, Raku can see Shu's effort in trying to asked Chitoge and Tsugumi about it with his naughty antics. Tsugumi is even almost like breaking all Shu's bones because of his persistence. That's why Raku stopped him and thanked him telling it's already fine, it's enough, and he'll do the rest himself.

The next day, in the evening, at Raku's house after dinner, Raku went to his father's room. His father is sitting in his study table near the veranda.

"Oh Raku do you need something?" His father asked when he noticed him while continuing doing his paper works.

"Dad there's something I badly wanted to ask." He responded.

"And what is it?" He stopped doing his paper works and faced Raku.

"I wanted to know if you knew of what happened last Christmas." Raku asked with hesitation in his voice because somehow, Raku felt like his father might give him an answer but just like Ryu, it's not an answer to his question. He sighed.

"Which one? The ending of your 'fake relationship' with Chitoge?" Raku nodded at his father's question. "Is the reason that the member of each family is getting along now is not good enough?"

"Well, yeah. It's a good thing that they are getting along now even though I and Chitoge are not really dating, but something is weird about it. I felt like there's something missing… and that there's deeper reason behind it." Raku said matter-of-fact while a little smile is slowly forming in his father's lips.

"Why do you have those feelings? Why are you thinking that? What do you think is missing; when that is the only most possible reason why it ended now?" His father reason out.

"I don't know! It's just too sudden. Didn't you and Chitoge's Dad planned to end it after 3 years? I just wonder why it's suddenly ended without my knowing but everyone knows it. It's also makes me annoyed at the thought that everyone knows the deeper meaning about why it happened while here I am troubled about it. Is it bad if you guys told me? Is it bad if I get to know it?" Raku smirked trying to just laugh, his trouble, off.

"I don't know what you are thinking about that matter, but why don't you try figuring out first why you are so desperately forcing what you are think about it? And why do you seem so affected of the fact that your 'fake relationship' ended even though you don't have to, right? You probably heard it already to those whom you asked earlier but I will still say it," Raku's father pause then stand up from his seat and walk towards the door of the veranda, look up at the dark sky and then continued, "is it because you like Chitoge?"

"Why is everyone asking the same question?" Raku asked looking at the back of his father. It also makes him curious now about it. Does everyone think he likes her?

"Do not know! Most likely that is the only possible reason why you are acting that way. Why you are too bothered in something that is not a real thing since the beginning. A fake romantic relationship that you shouldn't concerned you anymore because even though it already ended, you two remained treating each other friends. Well, the question is: do you still see her only as friends now?" His father's explanation hit Raku. That's right. It should not concern him anymore; it doesn't matter as long as they stay friends. But why does it concern him so much? Raku's father continued his talking, "If you think thoroughly, don't you think you should know first what you really feel why you are doing this even though you know it's not necessary anymore. Once you prove to yourself what you really felt, then you can maybe figure out the reason in your questions of other things."

Everyone's opinion is mixing in Raku's head and it's making him dizzy. Hearing their answers doesn't help him finding out what he needed to; those answers that didn't answer any single of his questions. The questions concerning what happened last Christmas that always ending up questioning him about what he truly felt for Chitoge.

If he will asked him why he is acting that way towards that matter, he still doesn't know why. Is it really because he likes Chitoge; in romantic way; but how about Onodera? Every time Raku presume he likes Chitoge in a romantic way, the thought of Onodera is countering it. How can he prove to himself that he likes Chitoge if he is always remembering his long time crush for Onodera? Like or love? Who does he like? And who does he love?

Until one day, the person he doesn't expected to come, approached him and said, "I heard you are seeking for answers why your 'fake relationship' suddenly ended and why everyone easily accepted it. I don't know what your reasons are. If you like her or you just wanted to know because of curiosity, it doesn't matter. But I'm willing to tell you everything you wanted to know. And once you knew everything it's up to you whatever you wanted to do after knowing the truth."

And so, with the help of that person, all of Raku's questions are answered now. With just one reason, everything happened. It's only one reason but it really is a heavy reason to accept what was planned that day. The reason that made his heart beat race in nervousness. Not only nervous, it's actually a mixed emotion. Somehow it made him felt happy but it also saddens him. A reason he don't know if he can believe. If he only knew it… if he only knew it before… what will he do? Now that he knows the reason behind that ending, what is Raku's next step? He'll think about it later on but for now, the one thing he's thinking is, I wanted to hear that reason coming from the mouth of that person.
