'Cause frankly speaking I actually doesn't have any experience about love :P the ideas I'm writing what they feel about love, I just learned it from watching and reading love stories mehehe, that's why I really don't have any clue how it felt to love someone and to be love or to be broken XDDD and I actually wanted to experience it. False/True Love 22: Rejection

Today is Monday and just yesterday has many things that happened; that were Onodera's confession and Raku and Chitoge's confrontation. Their Monday will probably one of the uncomfortable days they will have with thoughts wondering in their minds. Just like wondering of how they will face each other. As for Raku, he was thinking of on what way he was going to tell Onodera his answer to her confession. It was not like Raku was in a hurry, but just like what Shu told him, he should not take any longer to tell it mainly because he already have his answer. Besides, it will be harder if he will try to let it be and act as if nothing happened; and having those feelings right now because of a certain someone that is a pro in acting that way is getting in his nerves. It annoys him.

"Good morning minna." Chitoge greeted everyone cheerily with her smile. Watching her from his seat, Raku rested his chin in his palm and sigh before noticing that Chitoge is looking at Onodera's seat and somehow giving her signs. Getting curious of what Chitoge is doing, he turned his head to Onodera's chair to check what they are signing.

The moment Raku faced Onodera; she also turned her head, and looked away in instant when their eyes met. It's not like they are avoiding each other because they even tried to greet each other earlier. It's just they both feel awkward to look at each other because they know that they are both waiting for a chance; a chance to have a talk.

At the corner part of the room, Ruri and Shu were both watching their friends. Ruri is really having a hard time of thinking what Chitoge really felt for Raku. Her instinct thinks that Chitoge might have feelings for Raku, but seeing her acting that way in front of everyone, in front of Raku and Onodera, made her doubt her instinct. But one thing is for sure, Raku likes Chitoge; and the question whether Chitoge have feelings or not remained unanswered. She really don't know how to explain how she see her acts and thinks, but if will just base everything on what she is seeing, she can say that Chitoge is supporting Onodera and Raku to be together. But… what if she's just pretending? What if she is just relinquishing her own feelings for them? Ruri asked herself in realization. What if she's right; what is she going to do? Then she faced Shu that is already looking at her.

"Maiko-kun, tell me the truth, do you know what's going on with those three that I don't know? I mean, does what I know that's happening between them now are the same of what you know?" Ruri asked with her calm voice and crossed arms.

"That's what you're worried about? I don't know. If I know something, you know I won't tell it. Besides, what I know are just some of my hunch that fortunately seems to be right." Shu answered smiling at her. Ruri didn't respond anymore because there is really a possibility that Shu just have his own ideas of what is happening. And if what he said that his hunch is right, there is also a possibility that her hunch about Chitoge might be right. She believes that whatever ideas Shu have is reliable because most of the time whenever she is watching or listening to him, he always looks so confident and sure of what he is saying. He as if understands everything about what's happening around his friends.

Lunch break…

Shu and Raku didn't join the girls in their lunch; they are walking together at the school ground eating the bread and the drinks they bought at the cafeteria. Seeing them together means only one thing: to talk about Raku's circumstances.

"What's the problem Raku? You look so agitated." Shu noted to his best friend.

"I'm thinking a way how I can talk to Onodera and what timing to do so." Raku answered sighing. He didn't think that this will be hard.

"It looks like you really have no doubts about your answer anymore, eh. Are you sure you don't want to back out?" Shu teasingly asked and receive a smack in his head from Raku. He just wanted to make sure he won't regret anything that's why he asked.

"What do you think? I know it's too sudden… but I don't want to fool anyone anymore and I don't want to make her wait any longer because that will just hurt her more, right? And that's why I'm thinking how to do it and looking for timing before telling it to her one of this day." Raku answered with serious tone in his voice and his facial expression. They stopped at the field of the school and then he look at the sky thinking If only I can give her answer without hurting her.

"If that so, then leave everything to me; the timing that you are looking." Shu said with his head held high and pointing himself proudly. And even though Raku is having a bad feeling about it, he just agreed.

After school…

Since Raku and Chitoge is not acting as couple anymore, they are also not going home together anymore like before but Raku is now waiting outside the school for… Shu. But he received a message from him telling him to wait for him at the playground, not that far from their school, so they can talk about how he will have the chance to talk to Onodera. Without replying at the message, he just followed it and went to the playground. When he arrived there are no more kids playing and sit at the swing. He waited for a couple of minutes until someone tapped him in his shoulder from the back. He thought it was Shu and was about to face him but the moment he heard the voice of that person, he stiffened.

"O-Onodera…" Raku said feeling nervous when he faced her, "what are you doing here? Are you not with Miyamoto?" He asked disconcert.

"H-Huh? Ah… Eh… she is with Maiko-kun. They are on cleaning duty. And then Maiko-kun t-told me that y-you are w-waiting for me here." Onodera feeling disconcert too in the realization that Shu definitely set them up.

Raku cursed in his thought, that Shu! I'll beat him to death. This was what he meant by leaving everything to him? Giving me the timing right away. This was his plan all along? I should have known ugh!

Because they are both not ready to do the talk right away they remained silent for a couple of minutes. They are both thinking what to do. Even though they already have their resolution of what they think what might and wanted to happen, they are still not ready. But since they are already facing each other, might as well, do it now. So Raku broke the silence.

"A-Anyways, I'm planning to talk to you too one of this day, and since we're already here I'll tell it now." Raku started and Onodera already have idea what he wanted to tell.

"Is it about your answer to my confession?" Onodera asked fidgeting. Her heartbeat is racing rapidly and she has a feeling that the moment Raku told her his answer the tears in her eyes will fall at the same time. That's why she's trying to encourage herself not to cry and be strong by chanting I'll be fine! I can do it!

"S-Sorry Onodera," he apologized. That word again. Why does it hurt her so much? It annoyed her that with just that word, she already knew what he wanted to imply and it hurts her. She felt aggravated and felt like crying but she tried to stop herself. Before hearing Raku's complete answer to her, she stop him, "W-Wait Ichijou-kun, before r-rejecting m-me, can I asked what you felt when I c-confess to you that time when we are just acting and when I confess for real?"

Raku got surprised when he heard from her the word rejection. He look at her wondering, he understand if she asked what he felt when she confess to her for real, but why asking about their confession where they are just acting, too. By just looking at her made Raku to just answer her because of the smile that she is showing to him – a force smile that he just saw for the first time.

He nodded his head and answered her question, "Compare to the confession when we are just acting, that time I was really excited and happy to hear the word 'I like you' from you. It's a dream come true after all. But…"

Raku paused and beheld Onodera's reaction. He doesn't want to continue anymore considering that he can feel that Onodera is trying her best to stop herself from crying. He doesn't want her to cry anymore even though he already knew that giving her his answer will certainly make her cry. Then Onodera signaled him to continue, he wanted to argue, but Onodera showed him she wanted to hear the rest of his answer and with that he continued.

"But when you confess for real… I don't know what to feel about it. But besides the feeling of I can't believe that was happening… at the wrong timing and moment, I have this thoughts that I can't return the feelings anymore." Raku answered truthfully without looking away from Onodera's gaze. However, on Onodera's part, the moment she heard his answer, she turn her back from him because the tears that she's been holding is now falling from her eyes. His answer is kept on repeating from her mind and a single word struck in her mind that made her wonder and tried to wipe away the tears from her face before facing Raku again.

Anymore… that's what he said, Onodera thought and then asked Raku, "What do you mean you can't return it… anymore?"

Raku slightly felt like Onodera sounded hopeful. He's having a second thought but he already decided to tell her everything so he will, "Well, honestly speaking, just like you I also like you since we were in middle school." He confessed even though what he felt from before and now are already different; somehow Raku felt introverted at the thought of finally confessing his feelings to the girl that likes him and he used to like. On the other side, a small smile formed in Onodera's lips after hearing his answer.

At least it made her felt happy at the thought that Ruri is not just assuming that they like each other. She is definitely right that their feelings are mutual since then she just didn't listen and can't believe that it can be true. May be they are really not meant to be together. Or maybe it's also because of her that it became too late for them now to be together. Somehow, she wishes it's not really that too late yet and wish she can still make him like her back again.

"And n-now you d-don't like me anymore?" He nodded. It seems like the courage Onodera have are building up now within her. She doesn't want to stop asking him, she is also determined to know everything she wanted, so she asked him once again, "I know this has nothing to do with me, but can I asked, can you tell me… what you felt when Chitoge also confessed to you in the roof top?"

Talking about Chitoge is not part of his plan. Raku didn't think that Onodera or anyone from his friend, beside Shu, noticed that he's feelings for Chitoge is developing. Now that Onodera asked him about it, Raku knew she already have idea why he can't return the feelings anymore. But that's not the problem Raku is thinking as of this moment. For Raku talking about Chitoge is out of his control. He doesn't know how to answer her. He felt like once he started talking about Chitoge his mind will start to wander around without realizing what he's talking about anymore and what he looks like. But he need to man up, he already decided to tell everything to Onodera and if ever she have questions like this, he will give her the answer truthfully.

Raku take a deep breath before speaking, "When she said that time that… she likes me, I actually didn't get what I felt but it sure was different of what I felt from you. But somehow, maybe I felt really pleased that time. And now just by imagining it happening for real and hearing those words from her made me feel a different happiness that felt like I will only feel from her."

Onodera smiled bitterly the moment she noticed that Raku is getting lost of his own thoughts about Chitoge now and for a moment forgot that he was with her having a serious talk about them; about her feelings; about their feelings. And then that smile that she always sees whenever he is looking at Chitoge, it never fails to make her feel jealous. Her intuition is right after all and confirming it hurts her even more.

"Then that mean C-Chitoge is the reason why… your feelings for me is now gone." She stated instead of asking. And this time, without turning her back from Raku, the tears from her is falling from her eyes. Seeing her in tears, Raku didn't give any thoughts and just come close to her to give her a hug. De javu.

"I'm really sorry Onodera." He apologized, the only act he thinks he can do to at least help her ease the pain he cause.

"No! Don't be sorry." Onodera slightly shook her head and continued, "No one's at fault; how irony and cliché. We like each other for so long but ended up confessing already too late."

"Yeah! Because I was very diffident those times I wanted to confess." Raku tried to joke and Onodera responded joking too, "How unfair of you to be not diffident anymore the moment you realize you like someone else."

Onodera break the hug and wipe the tears in her face while Raku patted her in head. They stay like that for a couple of seconds when Onodera jokingly – but for her it's the truth – said, "I really like you even though you don't like me anymore."

"T-Thank you." Raku said. He is thankful that someone wonderful as Onodera likes someone like him. It saddens him that he hurts her but he knows he can't do anymore about it than telling her the truth about his feelings. If only he can turn back time, but then again, even turning back the time he will still meet Chitoge.

Onodera stopped her tears and smile at Raku then suggested for them to go home already since it's already dark and she already has the answer in her confession. Raku insisted that he will walk her home but she refused and they parted ways. When Onodera arrived in their house, she already goes straight to her room and slammed herself to her bed. She took her phone in her pocket and started dialing her best friend Ruri. It rang two times and then she heard her voice but Onodera can't even utter a single word because of her sobs. Ruri sensing that Onodera is crying again leave their house and goes straight to her house and in her room. She knocks in her door and called her name. When the door opened she saw Onodera in tears and hug her in instant.

Ruri assist her best friend going back inside her room and seated her at the edge of her bed and gave her a glass of water to drink, she took before going to her room, to calm her down. When she calmed down a little bit, Ruri asked her what happened and she told her everything. Just like what she said yesterday, she is crying harder than the first time she cried. It doubled her pain to the point that she wanted to forget everything. She can't accept the fact the she wasted those years that Raku liked her back. It hurts her that he didn't do anything to convey his feelings for her but looks like trying to do his best to convey his feelings for Chitoge. It's so unfair for her. It hurts her that they didn't get a chance to be together because of them being diffident for a long time. If only she knew earlier than now that he likes her…

"If only I listened to you Ruri-chan… I should really have confessed before when he still likes me even Chitoge is already with us." Onodera cried pitiable.

If only I can turn back time… but I know how impossible it is. If I can't turn back time, then his feeling for me.

。。。『〔》ＮＩＳＥＫＯＩ《〕』。。。

Just like Ruri promised her, she stay by her side until Onodera fell asleep before going home. Ruri is fuming knowing that Shu is the main reason why Onodera and Raku got a chance to talk. It's not like she doesn't want them to get a chance to talk, but it's just too sudden. She knows that Onodera doesn't recover yet from when she confessed yesterday and now she already got his answer that worsen her pain. Onodera doesn't deserve to be in so much pain. She hates seeing her best friend crying in pain just because she loves Raku; it's so unfair.

The next day, Ruri is still fuming. Blaming Shu for what happened yesterday, when she saw him in the classroom, she already approached him and strikes him as many as she can until she can't strike him anymore. Somehow by striking Shu, Ruri's madness lessened though she felt like crying because of the thoughts of her best friend.

"But Ruri-chan, in my opinion the pain she felt right now will heal sooner than you expected if she already know the truth. You know it's harder and painful to wait and to repeatedly ask herself the question that the person she's waiting is the only one who can answer." Shu explained what he thinks about the situation and why he did it.

Ruri didn't answer him anymore and pulled her arms from him. Well, he actually stopped her from striking him. Then she got surprised when she heard Onodera's voice from the door because she thought she won't attend class today. But seeing her trying her best to act to be as usual her; a relief smile form in her lips. If Onodera is trying her best to be strong then she should be stronger for her sake. She approached her and gave her a bear hug. And then Raku came after some minutes Chitoge came next.

。。。『〔》ＮＩＳＥＫＯＩ《〕』。。。

On their break time, there's a rumor spreading in the school. Because Raku became known in the school because of Chitoge and him being a famous couple before, it's unavoidable for him to be the topic of the students; most especially that someone saw him with Onodera yesterday at the playground hugging each other. And the rumor that is spreading in the school is that they are dating. Of all times, why does it have to be rumor now?

The rumor doesn't include any bad information because everyone know what kind of woman Onodera is and Raku is not bad either. They are just talking about them because some knew that they are from the same middle school. And because of this they all assumed that maybe they've been in love with each other since then. Well, they are right, but that change now. And since everyone is unaware of the fact that Raku and Chitoge's faked relationship, they also assumed that maybe Chitoge was actually helping them to hide the fact that Raku and Onodera is dating.

What made Raku worried after hearing those rumors is if Chitoge believes about it. He wanted to know what she thinks about it. And when the curiosity wins over him, he approached Chitoge. They are at the roof top waiting for their friends.

"Oy Chitoge." He called her.

"What?" She responds without looking back at him. She is facing the fence and looking at the ground of the school watching the students.

"The rumors…" Raku started, he doesn't know how to explain it to her without making her wonder why.

"I believe it's true." Chitoge stated. He was about to ask her why she believes and argue that it's not true but didn't manage to do so when she faced him with smile and said, "I saw you yesterday. I happened to passed by at the playground in a car. You two… yiiiieeee."

Raku look at her dumbfounded. Maybe she's telling the truth that she saw them and 100% fact that she didn't heard anything what they are talking about. And what part did she saw anyway to believe in the rumor? Tch.

With his poker face Raku abruptly said, "You don't even have any idea what we are talking about and that she knew I like you."

Chitoge looked surprise for a moment but laugh it off forcing herself that she heard it wrong; that Raku is just bluffing; and she actually got deaf for a moment and didn't heard anything. Then Onodera came and about to approach them when she answered Raku, "I didn't actually catch what you said. But it's one of your jokes, right?"

Chitoge laughed that made Raku felt displeased at her act and thought, shit. That's not supposed to be my confession. Although it's not a confession it actually hurt to think that she thought it's one of my jokes. Che! How dare she think of me that way when she is the one who once joke about it to me? Gah! Now I feel like she just rejected me, indirectly. Tss!

"I-Ichijou-kun I'm sorry that because of yesterday a rumor is spreading around the school." Onodera said looking at Raku who is looking at Chitoge in disbelief.

"It's okay because tomorrow it will perish for sure. Leave it to me; and sorry about that too." Raku assured her with smile in his lips as if he's imagining something good in his head while looking at Chitoge and then look at her.

Just by looking at his face, Onodera already guess what is the plan running in his head. She wanted to stop him but she can't because she doesn't want to be a hinder in his happiness. For sure after he's done in his plan she will cry again and again and again until she doesn't have any tears anymore. If loving someone is also about sacrificing then she is willing to sacrifice. But once she saw an opening – an opportunity – to win him over Chitoge she will do it because she knows that her feelings for him won't change. But for now, she'll try to give in.
